WPI Flavours

We now have 21 flavours available to choose from. (I recorded the above video and then our team added even more new flavours for this deal!)

Our new releases are: Aussie Choc Malt (reformulated - thank you for the feedback on the old flavour!), Chocolate Honeycomb, Pandan & Coconut Gelato, Taro Milk Ice Cream, Choc Hazelnut (extremely limited quantity available)

All flavours are naturally sweetened. All use thaumatin except for Cinnamon Icing (which uses stevia). Please note that some people find the stevia aftertaste unpleasantly bitter, so we'd recommend avoiding the cinnamon icing flavour if you're concerned about this.

We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.

Also note the Unflavoured option is straight WPI with just sunflower lecithin added at the point of manufacture to assist in mixing and reduce frothing (less than 1% w/w). There is no sweetener added either.

Product Breakdown

  • 100% Australian Blended and Packed in our Sydney Facility
  • Our manufacturing facility is owned by us and is a NSW Licensed Food Facility with an approved Dairy Processing license
  • For the nutritional information for each flavour, please click on the "Nutritional Info" tab. The best macros are for Unflavoured (Per serve: 29.7g P / 0.3g F / 0.4g C), and the flavour breakdowns will be variable. All other flavours have less than 1g of fat per serve and 1.2-3.7g of carbs/serve. The new Aussie Choc Malt is the only exception with 9.9g carbs/serve (from the malt component) - I highly recommend it for the taste, avoid if you want to keep the carbs down.
  • We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend of other cheaper proteins (for example Whey Protein Concentrate/WPC)
  • Protein is added hormone free, ultra and micro filtered and cold pressed
  • Naturally sweetened with thaumatin (except Cinnamon Icing which uses stevia). We do not use artificial sweeteners.
  • Soy free - we use sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin (soy is common in whey proteins)

    Remember that Coles sell unflavored pea protein at $10 per 500g. Where a 25g scoop delivers 20g of protein! For all those people that complain about "bloating" and having to eat so much powder to get x amount of grams of protein in your body.

    Not a fan of cold beverages. Is it possible to use protein powder as a hot chocolate of sort? Not sure I've seen people do that before lol

      Whey protein isolate can denature once it's exposed to high temperatures, so we wouldn't recommend adding this into boiling water for example. I believe that once you begin to exceed 60 degrees Celsius it can begin to run into issues.

        I haven't used your WPI, but in winter I mix the Bulk Nutrients stuff I get with hot water all the time.

        The trick is to dissolve the powder in a small amount of cold water first (100ml or less) using a powered stick blender / whisk, then keep mixing it while you add the hot water. I normally do 1.5 - 2 scoops so I can top up with enough water to end up with a hot enough drink (400-500ml worth).

        If you add hot water straight then it'll denature into clumps that won't mix no matter what you do.

      I'll jump in here since no one else has so far, just with my personal opinion. They are all very popular flavours and I do recommend all, but just personally I prefer a richer and slightly darker chocolate so I prefer the chocolate flavour over smooth milk. But that's just my opinion, if you like a bit more of a milkier option then go for smooth milk.

    FYI - tried to pay using Coles Mastercard but kept getting transaction invalid error. worked using my CC though - prepaid cards must be blocked as payment options.

      That's very odd @Crowing and I'll make a note to look further into this. Could you let me us know if this card works with another merchant when you eventually use it?

      I'm unaware of any restrictions with us accepting payments on our website. I'll raise it with our gateway anyway, but they will likely want to confirm that it worked elsewhere to eliminate the likelihood that it wasn't the card itself.

      Would you mind sharing your order number? This will help me to pinpoint the first transaction you attempted that failed.

      @Crowing thanks for sharing the details, Vanessa passed them over to me.

      I took a look into it and the issuing bank of your card did not approve the transaction for some odd reason. The response code was "Invalid Transaction". It seems to come from your cards end, not from our gateway or processing bank (we use Westpac).

      From my understanding, it's a pretty vague reason, but we cannot know the cause of the decline with the information provided to us, you would need to contact the card issuer. It could be that the card isn't activated, or the details were incorrect, the card is invalid, or they are blocking the transaction from their end for some unknown reason.

      We haven't had any other issues that I can identify along these lines, so it seems to be isolated. I'd suggest trying the card elsewhere and if it persists, contact the issuer to resolve the issue.

      I will however keep an eye on this to see if anyone else is affected.

    Impressed with the level of customer service shown here. Only just getting back into the gym so 4kg is a little more than I want to start. Ordered 1kg to begin with to see how I find it. Know it doesn’t really get me the same level of deal but happy to support.

      @caperite I'll share a few key direct comparisons here. Bulk Nutrients is a solid company and they do produce good products. While I won't comment on more subjective things like taste (others may wish to chime in), I can compare some of the more objective metrics.

      I'll do a like for like comparison between our 4kg WPI and the BN 4kg WPI as of right now and based on the information I can find on their website. This will be on the Vanilla flavours, since this is a very common flavour and I'm unsure if the chocolate based flavours on their site are all identical. Obviously this varies based on flavour.

      4kg Regular Price: AZ $159.94 with free shipping (this is with our regular 20% discount applied) / BN $161 + shipping
      Serving size: AZ 31.5g / BN 30g
      Protein/serve: AZ 27.2g (86.2%) / BN 26.6g (88.5%)
      Carbs/serve: AZ 1.4g (4.4%) / BN 0.9g (2.9%)
      Fat/serve: AZ 0.3g (1%) / BN 0.3g (1%)
      Sweetener: AZ Thaumatin (natural) / BN Sucralose (artificial)
      Flavour options: AZ 21 / BN 12

      I'm unsure if their product has an emulsifier, I cannot see this on their product page. Ours has sunflower lecithin and is soy free.

        I think it would be better if the serving sizes listed in the nutritional info on your website were all equal between flavours so it made comparison easier. Most people won't use the "per 100g" info by default but that's the only way to fairly compare your flavours.

        For example, new Aussie Choc Malt and Matcha Green Tea Icecream are both shown as having 26.1g protein per serve, but a serve of the former is 40.5g and the latter is 30.6g.

        With BN their labels are all based off a 30g serve. All their WPI has >25g protein per serve.

        Using your new Aussie Choc Malt as an example, if you used 30g serves then it would have 19.3g of protein per serve.

        I'd wager that most people paying a premium for WPI compared to WPC or other supplements would be expecting a minimum of 25g protein per 30g serve. If people don't mind "extras" and higher fat / carb content in their supplements then there are plenty of other products out there to choose from that aren't labeled as WPI.

          I will take this to the team. We had a bit of an internal debate with the Aussie Choc Malt in particular due to the very different macronutrient profile. You raise a very good and fair point here in relation to both the consistency of serving size and the choice between different protein types.

    Down to my last 1.5 kgs from last WPI deal. The Vanilla flavour is excellent, tastes like vanilla ice cream when mixed with milk. Jay and the Amino Z customer service team is very responsive and takes feedback very well. Awesome stuff guys.

      By the way, this is a bug our site rarely experiences when we have a lot of traffic on the website.

      You can message Vanessa and she can fix it up, or otherwise you'll need to reset your cart by clearing your cache and re-adding everything back in, or emptying it out completely and trying again.

      Vanessa can do this on the backend which is probably the easiest fix, but I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience from this issue. This is something I'm looking into.

        See below comment. As long as you’re taking it consistently, 4kg is fine. Also protein is pretty pointless if you’re not taking it consistently.

        Also note each are in individual 1kg pouches, so you can just open one at a time to maintain freshness if you're concerned.

        I like variety and opened all my pouches and it's been fine since May….getting down to the last few servings in each pouch.

      Basic user = take one scoop a day.

      One bag has around 30 serves.

      Four bags is 120 serves or 4 months. Expiry is from 18-24 months so you can take a scoop exclusively when you train (which is the bare minimum) and it should still last.

        Hey Jay, the order came real quick which felt like an Amazon delivery so props to that.

        Just wanted to point out that a bag did have a crease and therefore tear (ordered 4x1kg bags which came in a box). I have reached out to Vanessa!

        Lastly, again, a bag issue, but the plastic zipper came off and I've put it back on (I don't think I've done it properly but the bag is safe).

        Thought I'd let you know, seems like the bags are letting you guys down!

        Anyways Pandan & coconut gelato omg it's delicious! Frothed up a bit but i was so wasted working out by the time i drank it the bubbles weren't so high 😂

        Really enjoying it vs the 💯 ON Gold Standard I've been chugging (vanilla ice cream, which is fine but man it's expensive!)

    Only newish to protein powders (1 year, at 52 years of age) and have been getting them from another supplier who are Professionals (hint), but more than happy to give this a go, especially with all the flavour selection - though my last orders with the other mob were unflavoured, you got me with Cinnamon Icing (Cinannom is my thing, i had to give up Cinnamon Bun Oreos and Scrolls when i went on keto - though this morning spotted Musashi has a Cinnamon Scroll bar now - boutgh one and not bad)….anyways i only ordered 1 x 1 kg bag to be christian and leave some for others :)
