WPI Flavours

We now have 21 flavours available to choose from. (I recorded the above video and then our team added even more new flavours for this deal!)

Our new releases are: Aussie Choc Malt (reformulated - thank you for the feedback on the old flavour!), Chocolate Honeycomb, Pandan & Coconut Gelato, Taro Milk Ice Cream, Choc Hazelnut (extremely limited quantity available)

All flavours are naturally sweetened. All use thaumatin except for Cinnamon Icing (which uses stevia). Please note that some people find the stevia aftertaste unpleasantly bitter, so we'd recommend avoiding the cinnamon icing flavour if you're concerned about this.

We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.

Also note the Unflavoured option is straight WPI with just sunflower lecithin added at the point of manufacture to assist in mixing and reduce frothing (less than 1% w/w). There is no sweetener added either.

Product Breakdown

  • 100% Australian Blended and Packed in our Sydney Facility
  • Our manufacturing facility is owned by us and is a NSW Licensed Food Facility with an approved Dairy Processing license
  • For the nutritional information for each flavour, please click on the "Nutritional Info" tab. The best macros are for Unflavoured (Per serve: 29.7g P / 0.3g F / 0.4g C), and the flavour breakdowns will be variable. All other flavours have less than 1g of fat per serve and 1.2-3.7g of carbs/serve. The new Aussie Choc Malt is the only exception with 9.9g carbs/serve (from the malt component) - I highly recommend it for the taste, avoid if you want to keep the carbs down.
  • We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend of other cheaper proteins (for example Whey Protein Concentrate/WPC)
  • Protein is added hormone free, ultra and micro filtered and cold pressed
  • Naturally sweetened with thaumatin (except Cinnamon Icing which uses stevia). We do not use artificial sweeteners.
  • Soy free - we use sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin (soy is common in whey proteins)

    Iced coffee used to be my fave before the formula change, I still have 4 bags worth that I'm slowly going through.

    Matcha tea ice cream is my new favourite and it's smoothness and taste is probably the best tasting out of all the protein brands and flavours I've tried.

    Definitely keen to see more of the Asian inspired flavours (matcha ice cream, Pandan, etc kick off that aren't too sweet but have a smooth flavour profile)

      So far no luck, this has proved to be a very difficult flavour to get right. Our old version used stevia which didn't agree with everyone, so we are working on a thaumatin variation. But we want to release something that is of a very high standard.

      Unfortunately some flavours are very challenging to get really good. But we will do this once we nail it.

      We've on version 2.5 currently. Our current pouches are an improved version on the pouches we had earlier in the year, but we are still not happy with them. We have just ordered a new batch and we are hoping that these will be even better (due to arrive in the next couple of months).

      Currently though, they are a bit better than what they used to be. However this does remain an ongoing project until we are completely happy.

        Fwiw I’m used to opening these now but sometimes I find the bag zip is prone to opening itself… and I make sure to do it up slowly and evenly too :/

    Perfect, will pick up another order. As a side note, what is the least sweet flavours you have?

    I loved the mango sorbet but found by the end of the shaker it was too sweet (about 70-30 water-milk mix).

      I'd suggest iced coffee, matcha, banana or strawberry have less sweetness. The mango was an extremely sweet flavour though - most of our flavours will be less sweet than this one.

        I was just reading through some comments and saw that mango sorbet and cinnamon icing both were the only ones using Stevia… Which I'm pretty sensitive in tasting. What are the odds that those are the only two flavours I've tried so far?!?

      Yeah we did add in malt into this one which bumped up the carbs and brought down the protein. I did make a note of this above just to be transparent, but i does taste awesome. All the other flavours have a much higher protein percentage though.

    Hi Jay and Vanessa, keep up the good work! I’m a fan of your business.

    A little feedback on the WPIs. I find some of the flavours produce more bubbles than the others after they’re shaken with milk. Chocolate was the least bubbly, but crème caramel flavour is so bubbly that I’m having a hard time finishing the 1kg I ordered. Flavour wise is good though, it’s just too much bubbles after shaken for the crème caramel.

      Can second this, compared to other WPI brands I occasionally cycle, the AminoZ WPI foams a ton and takes ages to settle. I use the unflavored with water. Is it maybe the concentration of emulsifier is higher or sunflower lectin vs soy lectin?

        To be honest, I am unsure what impact the difference between soy vs sunflower lecithin will have. This is something I'll have the team look further into. That could very well be the case if you're using our unflavoured, but I don't know either way.

        It could also have something to do with the process by which the raw protein is manufactured too.

        We will explore this further and thanks for highlighting this with me.

      We haven't changed our WPI price in quite a while, it is a priority for us to keep our prices as consistent as possible. So no, it will not jump all over the place regularly. However they will inevitably change over time so it's always a good idea to check prior to your order going out. We do send a reminder a few days prior to your order being confirmed (via SMS and email).

      Yeah Mango is out for now, until we reformulate it and we're happy with the result. This one has proven to be a tough one to redo.

        I love it! Definitely recommend! The first blend it'll look powdery and odd but add a splash of liquid (I usually just add milk) and then re-spin and it turns out just like ice cream, I find the sorbet setting the best (so press sorbet once, then take out, add a tiny bit of liquid, and then press re-spin)
        In terms of recipes, the higher the fat content, and sugar, the creamier it is, I made a chocolate peanut butter one today and it was super creamy without the re-spin.
        4 scoops chocolate protein, a few tablespoons of peanut butter, and some maple syrup (the choc protein I use is not sweet at all), then fill up with milk, shake to mix, makes 2 containers (buy extra containers, there's a pack of 4 you can buy off Amazon, definitely worth it), but each container I eat half only so basically a single serve of protein, refreeze the other half and then take out and sorbet it again.
        Another one of my favourites is canned crush pineapple with yo-pro protein yoghurt, the berries flavoured one. A single can of crushed pineapple in juice, with the big tub of yo pro, makes two containers of ice cream, just split half half in each container, mix it in with a spoon and freeze, then same settings with the spinning, sorbet, add liquid, re-spin.
        You'll need to experiment a bit at first but once you get the hang of it, it's heaps of fun. Also made a vanilla protein one, just some unflavoured protein powder, vanilla protein mousse powder, shook with milk, froze and then span it, after the re-spin, I mixed in crushed oreos (using the mix in setting) and came out amazing cookies and cream ice cream, :D

        Sorry long comment, hope this helps. I also ordered the matcha, pandan, and taro protein, looking forward to making these into ice cream!

    If all the wheys Ive tried these are hands down my fav.

    The only downside is they are sometimes a bit sweet for me. I've now started order an unflavoured one with my order and 1 scoop flavoured + 1 unflavoured.
    Perfect sweetness + ~60g protein.

    My partner swapped from her extra coffee in the morning to having the iced coffee flav. Highly recommended
