Tidal HiFi Family (6 Users) Monthly Arg$145 (~A$0.65, New Account Only, VPN to Argentina Required) @ Tidal

770

Although prices meant to go up on August 1. They did and now there not. Maybe it's a price error? That's why I am reposting the previous deal, I got the ok from mods to repost.

Tidal Family Hifi (6 Users) - $0.65 a month Note: There isn't a 12 month option. So you will pay month to month, price will change depending on the currency rate.

Note: This works for new accounts only. Make a new account with a different email.

1. Turn on VPN to Argentina. (Use Tunnel Bear, PIA, Surfshark, Urban VPN etc)
2. Click on Ozbargain link. Single user plan top of page, Family Plans scroll down. Choose Hifi
3. Ensure pricing shows ARS currency. If not, retry or try a different VPN. (Important)
4. Click through the registration process on the plan you want. Note: If it shows $145 in the later steps don't worry, the system means ARS 145.
5. Turn off VPN on Credit Card page as payment will not go through with VPN on. (Important)
5. Mastercard works fine. Visa Credit Card's don't work. See below for other Credit Card options.
6. After sign up, verify your email address (email will be in Spanish).
7. You no longer need the VPN and can use Tidal on any device normally.

Important Family Sharing Tip: When you invite “family” members to your Family Tidal plan via a link you email them, they MUST initially click through and register using VPN to Argentina for their confirmation or else they will get rejected. After confirmation, they can then use Tidal without VPN on any device.
Update: “Unless you add a family member, your plan will automatically revert to Individual on the next billing cycle.”

MORE DETAILS SECTION:

  1. If you use NordVPN, it doesn't correctly connect to Argentina and fails to show ARS currency. Use Tunnel Bear VPN instead.
  2. VISA Credit Card seems to not work. Verified working credit cards are Mastercard, 28 degrees Latitude, Coles Credit Card, Pre-Paid Mastercard from AusPost plus some other brands of cards, see comments.

          • @G-rig: Just asked Wise and I’ll let u know what they say. It’s all to do with the stuffed Argentinian financial system

            • @ctguru: The dream is over, just got the email.

    • The Thai recommendations may be better ha

  • This thread contains a google docs with global Tidal pricing which looks up to date to me, reddit.com/r/T…ey/. Nigeria, Columbia, Brazil.

Are we easily able to subscribe to those options though?

      • Agree, it's easy to find out the cheapest places but some still show up as USD or euros.

      • https://www.hotukdeals.com/discussions/tidal-hifi-plus-famil… use Tunnelbear free. I'm not so sure about it being 77p, but it is the cheapest.

EDIT: deal has just been removed under review.

        • Says deal is being reviewed

            • @Iangh: Update 2: Support now confirmed the dollar price is USD, completely contradicting the earlier support person. So it's not going to be £0.77 but £5 something by the time it becomes GBP, for the most expensive Family HiFi Plus account, obviously it will be less per month for a single account or HiFi account.

              • @NoApostrophePlurals: I was the first to point out evidence for it not being 77p yesterday but everybody wanted to believe. It's still the cheapest for those that definitely want Tidal.

        • So what's the deal Nigeria and 5 pounds?
You'd want to add the family members before hand wouldn't you or doesn't matter?

Some comments are a bit iffy

Not worth it. Tried it and Tidal blocks user after few weeks or so.
Surely Tidal would filter email addresses so best to use a new one i assume.

5 pounds $10 anyway, I'd trust Thailand or Malasia over that for slightly more, don't want to be associate with Nigeria.

ps. UAE doesn't work out that cheap for family hi-fi plus

    • It's useless without the ability to pay for them. Only Malaysia has been reported to work so fae from Australia.

      • Thai shows prices in baht too.

        • Showing prices isn't the issue. It is doesn't matter if it's in local currency or USD. If the USD price is still cheaper than Australia, great.

Actually being able to pay for the account from Australia is the issue. Only Malaysia has been reported as successful so far. The spreadsheet is purely for comparison reasons only.

          • @NoApostrophePlurals: Well it's a good start if it's showing the local currencies instead of the expensive price (eg Columbia or Slovakia shows in euros or USD, as it does for much of Europe and south America), I'm sure if I continued to pay for Thai or Malaysia it would work. Argentina has a specific issue and they have blocked cards not from there. It's easy to google the cheapest countries and I have.

Agree, Malaysia is looking the best option so far. People have also mentioned SA, that said not even available in your country with the VPN I tried.

    • Another regional comparison spreadsheet, reddit.com/r/T…on/. UAE is an alternative.

  • Anyone know if Tidal has different catalogues depending on the regions you are subscribed/playing from?

  • doesn't seem to work anymore even with mastercard. my sub didn't roll-over and I cant seem to re-sub with arg currency.

      Welcome to the party..
Bit of discussion on the last few pages.

  • So what's everyone doing?

I went through Thailand. About $18 for Family Hifi Plus and using AU Mastercard. New account so got first 30 days free.

      • In thinking that too, as I wouldn't mind a Thai influence even though it learns anyway. Fairly civilised, and about a $1.50 more than Malaysia at the most. New account is necessary imo or they'd know changing countries.

Ps. I exported everything using tune my music, not that had heaps saved.

Pps. Worth risking using the same Gmail with the old moving the period trick? Maybe something completely different better.

        • +1

Yeah I just smash my playlists and the algorithm kicks in pretty well.
FYI - if you log into your old account via the Web browser you can copy the URL for each of your playlists and paste into Notepad. Log into new account, copy from Notepad and paste into Web app… create playlist. Done.
Edit: That's what I did, moved the period within my old login.

          • @Fullbrewz: Yeah may as well do the same with my email but got a few fake ones. Could prob use an old Aussie one but maybe not worth it if used before.

Nice tip, I already exported to CSV.
Only made a couple but had a lot of liked albums and songs which were convenient.
Agree, the algorithm is pretty good, along with Daily discovery.

I think you can add family members at any time, as long as their email address is in the same country as yours.

            • @G-rig: I think you have to add at least one before due date otherwise it falls back to single Hifi plan. Yes I did all my invites whilst VPN'd to Thailand and also the acceptances otherwise you will get an error along the lines of user must be in same country.

              • @Fullbrewz: Did something wrong, maybe the VPN should only be on for payment not sign up?
Someone also with an Aus email said didn't Work. Fk it will just do single after the trial anyway, no one cares about it as much as I do.

                • @G-rig: Aaaaah, I was connected to Thailand via VPN for the whole process.

                  • @Fullbrewz: Yes i tried both, surely it doesn't need to be on for the other person or when the accept .

Wouldn't the same country be Thai..
                    Been a while.

                    • @G-rig: Not sure about the single user options but for Plus Family members I wanted to add, I could only have invites accepted successfully if the emails and Tidal accounts were created new and the acceptances were all done while VPN'd.

                      • @Fullbrewz: Ah so people accepting need a new email address too from same as yours (Gmail etc).

Edit: with VPN on, can't send and the invite as it says they have to be in same country, which is why I had it off. Suspect they used that email last time for a different country. All a bit hard will let it lapse to single sub anyway.

                        • +1

@G-rig: When you register with Tidal, your email address is permanently tied to the country from where you are trying to sign up from.

Your "family members" will need to use new email addresses signed up using a VPN to the same country you signed up from.

    • I just signed up via the land of smiles (while on holiday ;))

It gave me the 30 day trial but an offer to extend that to 60 days for ฿ 27 (did that), then 139 thereafter

      (unused .com email address)
      Au Visa

  • Good to hear Thailand is working for people and somewhat cheap but why are you not signing up via Malaysia since that is cheaper?

    • I cant recall or find now, but I thought I saw some issues with Malaysia & none with Thailand - I could be mistaken and as I said , I cant find them (after retracing most of my steps)…

fairly similar price I thought (?) & I am more familiar with Thailand having been there several times (not a good reason on its own).

20 cents different in USD for me

      • Thanks for the explanation. I thought it was a buck fifty difference for some reason.

Higher plans / family are different im on Individual Hi-fi only.

We have canceled your subscription to TIDAL.
    Hello,
Your TIDAL subscription has been canceled due to non-payment.
Don't worry; Your playlists and favorites will still be there if you reactivate your account.

    Bastards.

Anyone notice that Daily Discovery is not showing up anymore?
Havne't tested Custom mixes but that and Track Radio (based on a song you like) should be alright still.

Good to see some hires flac coming out. I noticed an article today that Spotify Hi-Fi is finally coming - some interesting features, not cheap and nothing mentioned about hi-res but they'd have to try and keep up with Tidal/Apple music.

    • How is your Tidal subscription still active?

      • Seems like you are a bit late to the party, have a look at the last few pages, have to set up a new subscription.

        • With all your comments, which one did you end up going with? Turkey or Thailand?

          • +1

            @RDY4ME: Thailand mate.
            Some people choose Malaysia.
            Turkey no good too hard.

  • Any advantages to choose one or the other between Thai or Malaysia? (Besides slight price difference)

    • Supposedly some countries have different catalogues but it is very difficult to verify this claim.

      • Guess I’ll just move to Malaysia temporarily then.

Can someone kindly post their method of signup up to either Thailand or Malaylay?
