My biggest problem with these is the head needing a replacement 2x a year, you end up paying what you pay for the machine once a year… exxy if you ask me.

I shave my egg with a razor, cheaper and closer shave.

Yeah having owned and used it I say ‘meh’. Also I find the middle does 80% of the work so they wear out much faster than the rest.

      Wouldn’t buy one again.

    • Interesting, I've been using the rx5 for nearly 2 years. Haven't noticed it being blunt or needing replacement.

yup same here…..mines still going strong 2.5 years on….

i use mine wet in the shower

my only other comment is that if you buy one, be prepared to use it every 2/3 days or your hair will get too long and if will be a long process to shave, and you risk the irritation as a bonus

i now go between this and my Supply SE single edge razor (highly recommended - only razor ive shaved my scone with that didnt fill me with terror…no nicks…i have the Supply Pro for the face as it gets closer)

Same my rx5 does a great job. Had it for over 2 years and blades are still cutting fine.

  • I use the Remington Rapid Cut Turbo Hair Clipper, such a cool device that works really well in a quick time.

    • Yeah, they're good, but not going to cut as close as a shaver.

  • Can you reverse it

Pitbull is the best. These Remington ones easily break down.

    • Again, 2.5 years on and going strong, along with others as above, so please dont spread misinformation

I've been using the $39 Kmart one and been happy with the results.

USB C charging and wireless charging dock, waterproof, battery indicator.

It's cheaper than a replacement blade for a Pit Bull, and I can't imagine a Pit Bull being 3-6x better.

    • Link?

    • i love the main product photo, that poor guy going to be there for a while trying to get that shaved down at that length….with any head shaver

I suppose the blades probably arent terrible, as cant be many places making 5 head cartridges, but its $29 and when youre done landfill with yet more leaking metal batteries and onto the next one….

About the same turn over as printers, cheap initially, but its often cheaper to go buy another cheap one when the ink runs out than buy ink….and turf into it the magical ground we call landfill where its totes safe to just keep doing that….

or you could spend 3 x as much and get 1 that would last 2.5+ years (so far)

Phux sake. Pulled the trigger at $119

    • as i mentioned above, its a commitment…be prepared to use it every 2/3 days or your hair will get too long and it will be a long process to shave, and you risk the irritation as a bonus

i find doing a light quick dry run to get the bulk off, and then doing a wet run in the shower with cream worked best for me, ymmv

I’ve had an rx5 for years and just couldn’t find replacement blades anywhere. Hoping this one is at least similar.

          for spare blades, you want

          [email protected]

im a bit of a plan ahead type (or super anal person with aspergers, you pick) with these things and thought "what if i need spare blades? which are seemingly only in the US via ebay", so after i bought my RX5, i sent an exploratory email to

          [email protected]

and the lovely people at spectrum brands got back to me as they do the spares for Remington here (and a few big brands, including Russell Hobbs - https://www.spectrumbrands.com.au/)
