I would be willing to bet that A$$le will add some firmware lock to the port and sell right to use the port on top of adopting USB-C, so they can sell their own range of devices.

Then they will make up an excuse that they are doing this for our benefits.

      • You mean like Sony does by not supporting Bluetooth with PlayStation Portal? Instead forcing you to use their own headphones. But yeah, instead attack Apple. 🙄

the difference is sony is irrelevant in the phone market place

apple makes more from iphones that the entire sony empire in total

          • @tonyjzx: And here I thought most OzBargainers would be rocking some non-descript Android phone.

        • Lol nice try. PlayStation portal has 3.5mm jack, the mother of all consumer friendly options.

Apple would spit and ask you to lick it before you're even allowed to connect something decent.

          • @plmko: Lol nice try. Most consumers don’t own wired earphones anymore. Blocking Bluetooth audio in favour of a proprietary option is an ass hat move by Sony. If you can’t see that you’re blinded by bias.

      • That would be a stretch imo

Apple sells a good usb-C to 3.5mm adapter for only $15 shipped. You may be better using that. And it works well on Android phones too.
Doesn't everyone have a bunch of analogue headsets in their drawer from generations of smartphones?

  • I've not used this site before. I assume it needs an education email to use it?

  • you cannot go ahead before sign up with them and you need school ID or work ID. Does anyone know any other way to signup with Lenovo.
