Wow this looks to be great on paper!!

    • +1

wow it actually comes with GOOD PORTS!! LIKE USB4!!! unlike the others that give you usb 3 or usb 2!!

    • oled nice - non touch, not so much

      • I'll be honest, I don't like or use touch on a laptop. OLED is superb but I don't know whether there are burn-in issues?

Any deal on yoga 2 in one?

    • Depends on the specific one you want but this is a great deal https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/yoga/yoga-2-in-1-seri….
I regret getting mine in 4K. Kills the battery!

      • -1

They come in 2.8k or 3.2k. never read 4k?

        • Nah 2.8k or 4K.

          To be exact it’s 3840 x 2400

          • -1

@xeno85: 2.8k should be enough for the size of the screen. 4k is over kill for the size

            • @Zeee: That’s exactly what I was saying. I got spec hungry when putting my order together. Looks amazing but the battery is the compromise

              • -2

@xeno85: What if u drop. The resolution. Makes any difference?

                • @Zeee: I actually haven’t tried this. It’s been wonderful having the quality screen but I am going to try this when I am in office soon.
                  Thank you for the suggestion

                • +1

@Zeee: drop resolution = blurr fest as pixel not matching

      • The 7i from officeworks (https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-14-…) has literally the exact same specs for about $600 cheaper.

    • Yoga 7i 32gb 1tb 2.8k oled

    Is this a good laptop?

  • +1

for creative use should be 32gb RAM or more.

  • +3

good specs i guess, but I wouldn't buy an ideaPad for $1.5k.

  • -2

    This or MacBook Air M4?

    • +2

      Xiaomi

    • +8

Well 15" Air with same RAM and storage is $3k…

  • -5

Just a note, I have similar spec Lenovo Ryzen 5 AI 350, 24GB.

Doesn't charge with macbook pro usb c charger
Doesn't charge with samsung monitor which has thunderbolt
Doesn't extend display on samsung monitor when using USB C /thunderbolt cable

Works with hdmi and included pd usb c charger.

I wouldn't touch it if it's not Intel

    • +6

So it works as intended? ;)

    • +2

      In… who?

    • -1

Tbh, the fact it doesn't charge from MacBook usb-c adaptor is big a downside. How could they mess that up, I don't understand. My 5-year old Lenovo E495 with just one USB-C successfully charges from a MacBook power adaptor.

      • Intel?

      • I just tested and it works fine on my M1 Pro charger. Tbh it charges on almost anything, except my HP dock.

      • +4

Might be down to the power output required. This thing comes with a 100w charger, the base level macbook pro comes with a 70w charger.

    • lol the spec sounds good on paper but this kind of things are deal breakers so I'll give it a miss.
It's not because I have no mony!

    • With other words, you're complaining about nothing?

    • It is designed for a 100W charger. What is the power supplied by the devices you are trying to use? You can't blame AMD if you're using a 60W charger.

    • +1

On this exact laptop, a 67w USB-C MacBook Pro charger and a 60w USB-C Dell charger work fine. Retested earlier for a reply below.

My HP dock extends monitor and peripherals from the first USB-C port but not the second. Best to try this on yours also in case they're ports on a different bus.

  • wow good time to purchase a new one

  • -1

Far away from the good lenovo deals we had here.

  • +1

    Soldered ram stinks

    • Can't get low power and high speed ram unless soldered (for the time being), ugh

And I believe they are/have/need to design a new slptted laptop ram form factor (someone correct me. I had read something on Wikipedia regarding Zen 5 physically requiring soldered memory)

  • I am looking at this or a Refurbed Yoga Gen 10 from the Lenovo Outlet store which is $1529. Can anyone comment on the quality of factory refurbished from Lenovo?

    • -1

Also concerned. Are they packed again?

    • Wow it’s worth the gamble. I guess you could return if in bad condition?

  • with Use eCoupon OCT25

I got one of the ideapads in 2020 and certain keys of the keyboard (on the laptop) stopped working properly in 2-3 years time. quality is sub-par - planning to switch to a mac.

  • Get 15% cashback from Lenovo with topcashback

    Brings it down to $1210.44

    • I'm only seeing 4.55% with TopCashBack

  • 8 Core = 8845HS

    This is not a rebranded 8845HS, that's the Ryzen AI 7 250

    • Yes I should make that clearer, just trying to indicate it's very similar and is what it replaces if people aren't familiar with AMDs new crackpot naming scheme

  • Any good for Lightroom editing or do I need a laptop with a dedicated GPU too?

    • Professional use: Yes
      Personal: No

  • Poster claims we can use cashback and coupon codes, but the cashback sites say otherwise?
