Inkbird had one on sale last year for $10… sigh I missed it guys, I'm not ok

I got one about 4yrs ago for $10. Still going strong. Seems pretty accurate. $61 does seem a bit exe.

Yea that's no bargain. You can still get equivalent with even the side probe point for <$20, or even much cheaper again on aliexpress

    • Yeah, that's hardly a bargain for a boring kitchen thermo with measly one probe. For less than that you can get one with a probe, 2 extra 2m long probe with Bluetooth and ip68 rated. And only a little bit more you can go wifi with probably 6 probes. There's nothing special about this and no one should pay more than $20 for it.
Also if you sucks at finding the better value for money item then don't be salty when someone tell you that.

    • Yeah, have a similiar one for like $10, didn't use it much but no problem.

The cheapies take 5-7 secs to give a temp whereas something like the thermapen does it in 2-3s. Doesn't sound like that's worth paying 5x the price but when you're over a hot stove/bbq, it makes it worth it imo. Apparently this isn't far behind the thermapen

Erh no, my inkbird one takes around 3 seconds too.

      • I have both Javelin and inkbird. The Javelin is a second faster. So it depends how important that is to you (in my case, not).

        • There's no "the inkbird". There are 3 and the fast one is very fast and accurate: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/224228871097

No idea why it's so expensive now but I got mine for $36 last year.

        • My inkbird died (got oil and moisture in it so not well sealed). Thermapen still going strong, better quality and quicker. The inkbird was okay until then.

I did like the button on the inkbird to quickly switch between F and C.

    I just use my finger

I use something else for the turkey

    • Finger lickin good

  • There are so many options for meat thermometers. I'd only get one that is designed to be left in during cooking with an alarm. You know to avoid forgetting. The $12 ikea one does the trick.

I find these instant reads are handy to have as well as the probe one…..

    Not worth the extra price.

InkBird alternative on special right now from Amazon AU for $20. Much better buy and value for money.

  • thermometer that probably should not be thrown ,

  • I've owned the non-pro version since 2016, still works perfectly.
