  • is this a good price? cause i think ive seen it listed cheaper by LTS?

shame i had to go and FIX my g15, why wont you die damnit!

  • Nice one. Still tossing up between replacements for my back lit lycosa. Still not sure if I want a mechanical keyboard.

Your better off getting something else, I have this and personally I rarely use the screen it's just a gimmick TBH. I would invest in another razer if I were you.

I used crappy gaming keyboards for years (Previous version of this with blue leds-g11?), switched to a cheap Steelseries mechanical recently. Feel like an idiot for waiting, this is so much better it's not funny

Get a mechanical keyboard. I just recently got one and it is amazing to type/game on. Make sure you do research on what switches you want though.

Coming from using Logitech gaming keyboards for years, it is night and day really.

  • hmm, it's not even listed on the EB website and cheapest i could find on staticice was $168 with Logitechshop at $185. $100 is a bargain if anyone can confirm other stores?

  • It's $184 at Umart. http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2…
It has a five star rating from 35 users.

I would not buy this keyboard to be honest, well I believe it's worth $50.

I have one and it appears the electronics in it are quite bad. After 6 months the back lit keys stopped working and was stuck at the colour purple…

Money better spent on a mechanical, and yes the screen is next to useless.

    • you should sell me one thats stuck on the purple. ;)

  • Anyone know if this is in victoria at all?

  • I have one and it is excellent. Well worth $99.
The screen is a gimmick, but is handy as a clock or to see CPU loads.

Recently switched from a g15 to mech, and haven't looked back since. Check out the coolermaster range, good value and top build quality.

Did the same a few months ago and it's been the best decision I've made. Too tempting to pass up a Razer Blackwidow for $90 at EBGAMES.

This is a great deal for a G19, but sometimes EBGAMES have razer blackwidows for under $100 which would be better for a lot of people. Still, if you need the screen or don't like mech then this is a great keyboard & price.

In respected mech circles the Blackwidow is not even considered seriously in any conversation (except the occasional "do not buy it" being mentioned) but I will take it over a logitech membrane kb anyday…..

  • Logitech make terrible gaming keyboards. Owned the G110 and now the G105 from COTD, both equally mediocre. My Razer Lycosa felt much better.

Razer or Steelseries all the way.

    • I'm using the g510 at the moment, used to use the lycosa, but the thin rubber coating on the wasd and surrounding keys rubbed completely off withing a few of months. Otherwise I would still be using the lycosa probably as I like the laptop feel to the keys on it. Though I am happy with the logitech keyboard I have now only because it doesn't feel like it's going to break anytime soon.

      • ut the thin rubber coating on the wasd and surrounding keys rubbed

That happened to mine too… but I generally prefer the tactile feel of Razer's kb keys. Logitech keyboards have this membrany/spongy feel, which doesn't feel as satisfying to type on. But the upside is that it's very quiet.

        • I completely agree, I just can't stand the fact that an expensive-ish keyboard can look like crap after a few months. - if the keys didn't rub off then I'd still be using the razer.

I bought this for $40 from dse and it was well worth that money. I would even pay $99 for it

  • Just confirmed this is in QLD as well. Toowong had no stock and I've just put a hold on the last one at Indro.
