Onebed Vs Ecosa Mattress - Which one?

looking to buy another mattress, looking to see what people think

so looked around, many google searches, alot of research and found majority of these online mattress companies seem affiliate driven with no physical location, you see these review websites, if you click through to any of them, they're all paid affiliate driven, meaning they're paid a commision for the business they bring, very bias and very misleading, for something of this size, better to visit a local shop like harvey norman, domayne and test it out first hand ..

  • Neither. I personally got a Macoda. And after a year the foam had sank & created a very slight lean. No warranty protection. All the foam mattresses are garbage & they've done incredibly well at creating a disposable bedding economy to get you buying beds more often than every 10 years.
Colossal waste to the environment too. I would suggest now finding a local mattress manufacturer and getting something made for honestly not that much more

    • 'they've done incredibly well at creating disposable bedding economy'.. +100% this!

  • Ecosa trial is 100-nights, Onebed 125-nights. WIth Onebed donating returns to the Salvos, that would move the needle for me.

    • from the OneBed website, very scummy !

"125 Night Trial offer does not apply to the purchase of mattresses already discounted through the Onebed Referral System."

"125 Night Trial offer does not apply where you have damaged the goods by using them in a way that was unreasonable.."

"Excluded damage includes but is not limited to odours, stains, mold and/or mildew, smoke or water damage, soiled or unsanitary mattress, burns, rips, tears, damage from an unstable, damaged or substandard base, or contamination from bodily fluids."

125 Night Trial will not be applicable to individuals who have requested for cancellation of an order placed and have signified non-interest in trying out the mattress.

Sounds like they'll do anything to weasle themselves out of any possible 125 night claim, take your pick ..

  • Get one with pocket springs and edge support!

We went with Eva mattress because of this. It has been good for the price ($750 for a queen in 2018).

  • I concur with the responses above. I got an Ecosa because of the advertising and didn't really know about foam mattresses. However the Ecosa mattress retains heat and as such it is very hot in bed. In winter its ok, but as soon as the nighttime temperature is above 11 degrees, I have to turn a fan on just to stay cool. I did try to return it, but they go through the Salvos and hence it is the Salvos that organise with you to return it and it was going to be 6 weeks before they could book in a van to pick it up. I was able to get half my money back from Ecosa but in hindsight I wish i just got a spring mattress instead.

  • Koala going strong for like 7 years for me. Rate it

    • Thanks Smudge.

  • I've had an Ecosa mattress for almost 2 years and have no complaints so far.
I did have to shuffle the foam around at first (I prefer a firmer mattress) which was annoying, but you only have to do it once so it's not a big deal.
My partner and I are on the heavier side (not too big, but we're not light) and the mattress still feels the same as the first night we slept on it.
I like the waterproof cover. Great if you have pets and babies.
I would buy it again (on sale ofc lol).

I also have the bed frame - it is not bad either. It's made decently well, and you can put stuff behind the headboard (space saving if you have a smaller room).

edit: l don't find it hot to sleep on (even though my partner like a heater) - but I usually use bamboo sheets in Summer.

  • WILL STAY AWAY FROM ONEBED!

I read more about it, they give a free pillow if you leave a positive feedback, no wonder why they have so many positive reviews!

    • A lot are like that I think

    • -1

They have positive reviews because Onebed is a good mattress. I have 2 for a few years already. Still very firm and no depressions unlike my other posturepedic $5K mattress
