  • Does anybody know what INDOOR Eufy cam works with Homebase 2 ?

    • +2

No, indoor wired cam connect to Wi-Fi directly. Videos saved on sd card.

  • I've heard battery life on these can be terrible. But no paid subscription is definitely a winner. Also I'm bit reluctant screwing into a brick wall. Is there other method(s)of hooking up one of these bad boys?

    • +3

I guess it depends on where you set the activity zones to record and how much its activated. Got one for my mother in law and theirs needs a charge every ~6-8 weeks from memory. Great little units though - price does vary but as others have said, having home storage vs paid subscription is a win.

    • I use it strictly as a door bell with no motion detection and it last for a good 8-9 months

I've had the Eufy Video Doorbell Dual for a year now. The battery lasts about 3 months on a charge with the default balanced motion detection/recording settings, which is about half what they claim. It has 2 contacts on the back you can optionally screw into existing 16-24VAC doorbell wiring and permanently power it that way if you want - I run mine on battery just 3M taped to the wall. Pretty good little device, the ML stuff isn't perfect but the package detection is definitely handy.

    • Mine lasts 3 months but have people cars passing it. Charging it 4 times a year is easy.

Think you would get closer to 6 months if on quite street.

  • Did they release update to use usb drive for Homebase?

Heads up: eufycam 3 does not work with homebase 2 (for those who wants to add security camera)

Best bet is getting eufycam 2, which JB hifi is selling for $270 atm (price match with eufy store for $263)

  • I just bought this doorbell as a replacement for the ring doorbell. The motion sensor is terrible compared to the ring doorbell. Like you need the person to be pretty close for it to trigger. I even played around with sensitivity and activity zone.

    • I’ve not found that to be the case and had mine a good almost 3yrs now (got it for 239 at JB) and has been great, my sisters ring doorbell has been the opposite. I guess it must purely be positional dependent which makes sense.

Mine only lasts 3 months but a decent amount of coming and going and deliveries get picked up by it.

      • Same, had it for 2 years. Impressed with the motion sensing

    • increase the range. Mine detects from the moment someone opens the gate, which is probably 10m away

      • where is that? I only have sensitivity 1-5 to play with and activity zone.

        Is 1 cloest, 5 farthest?

  • This or the aqara door camera
