    Which SSD is it ?

    • +1

      OCZ Vertex +R2

  • +2

Not your first time of posting but you still did not include shipping?

    • -4

that's because it would make the deal look more expensive…

      • +3

Plus we do find 60-70% of the sales we get off OzBargain are Sydney Metro who prefer pick up anyway. Shipping is still available and is reasonably priced.

        • +13

Hi jv, delivery cost is not much, $20-$25 which is for a private courier to deliver it to your door, registered and trackable the whole way through. also keep in mind the physical size + weight of the box you are receiving. The cubic weight does outweigh the physical weight.

        • Is so you have nothing to hide. Put the shipping cost in title!!

        • +5

jv makes a good point… if the OP sold their computers for a loss they would make more sales. The downside being more sales would mean a greater loss.

        • +3

          "jv makes a good point…"
I never thought I would see anyone say that

        • -1

          jv makes a good point…

          you missed the point…

the point was that they get more % Sydney Metro sales because it is cheaper than postage as opposed to what the Rep was inferring.

        • +1

now now, lets not point fingers

This week we've got another two hot specials for our favourite bargain hunters!

Haha.. I see that VisionTech's flattery is getting them nowhere with you guys. ;D

  • You still have these 160GB HDD's in stock!!!?? (after the great success of your previous post)

    Also - AMD Sempron!!! Hmm…

None the less, good price for quad core one

    • Hi Bappy, check out the link in the post, we have a few other machines with SSD's, dual cores, quad cores, all with great prices!

  • +2

The Op is channeling the old JB Hifi ads

    • ??? Care to clarify?

      • +3

        You've done it again!

  • +2

Watching this thread to see if anyone can build it cheaper ;)

    • +11

I'm sure their pc will go 'balls up'

    • +4

Likely because nobody else can source a motherboard with a 5 year old chipset, or a 160gb hdd.

      • +3

Hi bazzaa, do some research first, manufacturers are still advertising these parts and alot of resellers still stock them too :| yes newer greater flashier parts have come out, but good luck buying the whole set for under $200!

        • +3

Let's not forget that these "old" parts deliver very decent performance. Even the cheapest wouldn't disappoint most users for basic use.

    • +5

      That's a "testy call"…

    • come on balls?

  • So confused… can't find shipping cost… is this a pick up thing only??

already too much effort to navigate the site to find what i want, you have lost an interested customer..

    • Hi Chongy288, delivery is calculated in the check out when you purchase online from our website. Let me know if you need help to do the online purchase or give us a call

  • +1

i got $194 total for the parts but changed the harddrive to 500gb toshiba which is $59 , Still a good price for a cheap build for the first build.

i got around about $350 for 2nd build maybe more still both are good builds for the price.

    • +1

hi spliniter, did you also include a gaming desktop case + 550w PSU for the second one? we could have done the $399 system even cheaper if we sacrificed the quality of the case and PSU, however seeing as how it was a quad core system though we chose to include a higher case and PSU to suit.

  • +1

forgive the ignorance here - can i simply get an above box without a HDD and use my current HDD instead ?

    if so, price ?

    • +5

Hi vj, best thing we can do for you here is to remove the 160GB HDD and double your RAM to 8GB to compensate. If you would like to order one with these specs, you would need to call us or email us to have the order processed.

  • -1

    5400 rpm hdd? lol

    • +1

      Hi mattgal,

On the first system it is only a budget machine more for home users and web surfers, for just basic use and surfing the web HDD speed really is irrelevant to the machines performance.

As for the second system, to keep the HDD speeds inline with the beefed up quad core we've thrown in a 120GB SSD which will offer you the speed and response times to keep you happy while having the nice 500GB HDD as a secondary for pure data storage which is fine with a 5400RPM drive.

      • I disagree, for a web surfing machine I would say HDD very relevant to the machines performance(as any modern CPU/amount of ram is more than enough). HDD speed will determine how fast you files open and the general responsivness of the system. No system drive should be slower than 5400RPM IMO.

        • +4

lol funny coming from a guy whos handle is el_cheapo :P you should be all for the cheaper alternatives!

    • +1

And yet everyone is just fine with their $800 laptops running 5400rpm OS drives. For a couple hundred bucks you can't complain.

      • +1

not really, i find laptops slooooow, mainly because of the 5400 disks…

        • To quote myself "jv makes a good point"

Zenskas, just because people live with slow laptops does not make it a good idea. I think you whould have to be stupid to slow down an $800 laptop (or a $200 PC for that matter) to save the minimal ammount of money over a faster HDD.

I wouldn't trust buying from Visiontech, gave them my iphone to repair a power button, 3 weeks late not repaired, couldn't wait any longer so i took it to a iphone repair specialist and was told who ever opend my phone damaged the camera and vibration. It would of cost me $40 to repair the button, but instead cost me $130 to repair the damage that visiontech had caused and the camera is beyond repair. Visiontech has yet to get back to me about this issue.

    • -4

Ronaldo, if you have an issue with a service or repair we have technicians available in store Monday - Saturday to rectify any issues you might have. Have you come in store to discuss this issue yet?

      • +1

I haven't had time to go into the store to talk to anyone, but i have called and emailed a number of times. But i will go out of my way and miss a few hours of work to come into fairfield tomorrow morning. I was told someone would give me a call back last week and i am still waiting. I am very disappointed with the service.

        • +9

Its related if your going to offer poor service and break our stuff.

        • +8

IMO one of the great strengths of Ozbargain is if a store posts a new deal, someone can give feedback (positive or negative) from a previous experience. To say that it's "unrelated" is unfair and untrue, especially here, because people will research how customers have been treated in the past in the process of making a decision to purchase, regardless of whether the product is the same or not.

        • Constructive criticism ppl…

        • If it was positive feedback about his 'unrelated' issue, would you still report his positive vote as unjust?

  • +8

I called up to price match Visiontech with MSY. They told me to buy it from MSY. It defeats the whole "beat competitor" thing doesn't it?

    • Hi Apothecary - was this for a component or system? We don't sell components :|

      • +5

It was for LG 24" E2441V-BN LCD Monitor $169.0(MSY)and your price is $190
Logitech MK200 Media Desktop $16.0 (MSY), and your price is $39

        • +1

I haven't picked up my order from MSY yet, you can still rectify yourselves ;)

        • +6

          The silence is deafening…

        • +4

          I just heard a pin drop…

        • +2

          Pathetic.

        • -7

t was for LG 24" E2441V-BN LCD Monitor $169.0(MSY)and your price is $190
Logitech MK200 Media Desktop $16.0 (MSY), and your price is $39

Done Price matched, place your order with Desktop and get the same Price, had to get authorization signed off.

        • +9

"beat or better any competitors offer!"

Your offer is neither. Plus I didn't want your desktop.
You guys are dumb. I'm going through with MSY.

  • +7

Do n40L for $200, that would be a bargain.

  • Website says 4GB ram for the $399 option although the product listed above has 8GB. What is it D:

Also, any estimate of when it would arrive if I purchased now to Brisbane?

    Edit: Nevermind, just updated :P

    • Ohh it should be 8GB
      we will adjust it now

      • +4

what about the question above from 2hr 50min ago ?

  • it actuality says 8GB, which deal are you looking at ??
