Paid with my Coles Master Prepaid Card. Thanks Dealbot!

  • Got one. Thanks!

  • Still have a $100 eBay GC on my SB account. Hope eBay allows to store GCs in the account as Amazon

    • They don't

    • +1

They will show you the GC code near the coupon code area if you did claim and spend once with the GC.

      • What about when an item is lost and it gets refunded? Will it auto re appear?

        • +2

Giftcard will re-appear to specific account and locked as a coupon code.

          • +2

@Sheng: Worth mentioning it's still treated as a gift card i.e. you can tick it and also tick an actual coupon code at the same time

    • Similar but you can only load them when you are purchasing something.

    • It stacks somewhat as "leftover" amount like this.

      • You better buy ones you only have 13 cents left.

Finally some real food, none of this $5 for $500 rubbish

  • I don't see it anywhere to start. What am I missing?

    Edit: got it.

got a $50 eBay giftcard, the bonus hasn't tracked yet

  • Can buy 5 × $10 GC and sill qualify?

    • +1

      yes

    • that's what i did, confirmed tracked

    • Does this mean you need to use up your whole balance at once?

Ie. Why not just buy one $50 card?

      • +1

Gift card balance isn't transferable from account to account (e.g if you load the $50 onto your account and buy something for $5, then you'll have $45 left on your account and you can use that gc on a different account) , that is the only benefit I can see in buying 5x $10 ones

        • +2

If you are trying to structure a purchase using the maximum amount of gift cards whilst leaving a small amount of balance for another payment. Sometimes that’s useful for certain cashback/Afterpay deals.

Disadvantage of a lot of small gift cards is there’s a limit to how many GCs per transaction

          • @Thrawn: Oh yes true, especially useful for today's cashback as you need some payment for your Westpac card

        • Assume you mean can't use on a different account?

          • @tunzafun001: Oops yep, can't use it on a different account! Once it's loaded on one account, it can't be transferred to another

  • 177 left!

  • Bought my card, checked out… Forgot to use the card … Thanks OP

  • Does special gift card still work on ShopBack?

  • I purchased when it said there were 3 left…what are the chances I got the bonus?

    • All gone now.

    • I am in similar situation. Before and after purchase it was showing 3 left. Hope it will be honoured.

      • @gotyourback any way you can help us? I refreshed my page twice to confirm there was 3 left, checked out in a flash and there was still 3 afterwards

How do you deal with edge cases which are seconds apart?

        • Same boat here. I bought at 11:23pm when the counter said there were 13 left, but the $5 bonus never tracked and the challenge eventually updated after about ~10 min to say all sold out. A little bit annoying to be honest.

Perhaps it might be better not to display a counter on challenges like these if the counter isn't actually accurate

          • +2

@GreenGuava: Oh that's awful, I purchased mine at 11:30pm when it said there were 3 left

If even you got tripped up by the challenge 7 minutes before I did, I wonder how many "oops" gift cards ShopBack gets away with selling every time they run one of these promos..

I much prefer the way Cashrewards does it where enrolling guarantees a spot and if it runs out you can't enrol

            • +1

@dogsryummy: Yeah I agree RE Cashrewards. With CR, if you manage to activate a bonus then you can be sure you'll receive it if you meet the requirements.

The only drawback to CR's approach is that although bonus activations may hit quota, not everyone who activates a bonus will end up taking advantage of it, and so their slots are effectively 'wasted'

        • Hey there mate, sorry to hear you missed out here. Often times with these offers, when there's less than 20 redemptions left, there's often more than 20 users checking out at that moment so cannot guarantee you a spot, I'm afraid, as this offer was available while redemptions last per the terms. Happy to take a closer look at your account/the challenge if you'd like so reach out via DM and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Some challenges are limited by the amount of users who opt in versus the amount of users that redeem, however when limited by opt-ins often there will be a group of users that opt-in but do not redeem, meaning there are spots that could have been redeemed by other users but couldn't be accessed, so there are pros and cons for both systems. Will pass on your feedback here to the team, but know in future that when the spots are running low that we cannot always guarantee you'll be able to redeem .

          • @gotyourback: No sign of the $5 bonus on my account yet in spite of activating.

Presumably if I've missed out you can just cancel the giftcard and refund the purchase?

I realise the 48 hours isn't up yet.

            • @Its4me: Hey mate, you'd have to reach out to our Customer Care team regarding the gift card there, I don't have the ability to do that, though I will say typically gift cards are not refundable as part of their terms and conditions.

          • @gotyourback: Reached out to you few days back but no response from you mate.

            • @SkoMo: Hey mate, I've been off sick a bit so have been running slightly behind, doing my best to catch up on DMs now.

    • what time did the transaction go through?

    • Same I purchased when shop now button was still available. And no challenge bonus.
