      Fortnite, cod, genshin, pokemon etc

    • Don't think many games need it but it definitely helps performance and graphics. These also have better cooling too

      • Water cooled or liquid ?

    • Good ol' Diablo Immortal for starters…

      Redmagic 8s probably better

  • red magic 8s pro is better, that built-in fan provides higher consistent clock speeds.

    • I read this phone suffers from heaps of bugs

I have the non themed version. Great phone, front facing symmetrical loud speakers are loud and crisp and 6k mAh battery lasts forever. Also, Headphone jack!

Only complain about it is its heavy AF.

  • How does it compare to S23 ultra

Depends on what you want on a phone. This definitely is a thick and heavy phone with sub-par cameras (compared to every other flagship released at the time). Software experience is ok, but really the gaming aspect is the gimmick of this phone. the gaming triggers, 165hz (but not all games support anywhere close to this), gaming software are all pretty nice.

As someone who owns this phone, I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you play games a lot of the day. I do like the convenience of not having to carry around gaming triggers for cod and I can quickly jump into a game. But for day to day stuff, it's really inconvenient due to the size and bad cameras. I think I also have a dud unit since my cameras are incredibly laggy, but when it does work, quality of photos are pretty average (even with gcam).

  • I had rog 2 and screen is gone after a slip out of pocket. Got the screen replaced and same thing happen again. They are known for this internal screen damage. Not sure how much they have improved in that terms.

  • Need to upgrade my S10e. Don't care for gaming or camera quality. More concerned about quality screen and battery life. Any suggestions?

The moto edge neo would be my pic for a similar form factor, at minimal extra cost, one was on a JB deal posted not too long ago

    • If you are coming from a s10e, you will really notice the size and weight. This is a THICK phone and very heavy.. It's really awkward to hold one handed. I probably wouldn't recommend it based on that.

the 1080p 165hz screen is quite nice though, battery life is alright, the 60w charger is fantastic and very fast. I think this phone is only good if you want to play games..

  • Will only get another android update (14). So not good if anyone planning to keep it more than a year or 2

  • Bought one last time around when they were this price. Wicked Wednesday was on too. Love the screen and battery life.

  • I'll never understand why ~$1k android phones still neglect to use a 4k selfie camera or have any decent cameras in general. Snapdrag 8+ Gen 1? Over a year old. This also has no wireless charging and the max charge speed is comparably average compared to other phones in this bracket.

    • Snapdrag 8+ Gen 1? Over a year old.

Phone was released more than a year ago

That all seems like fluff on a phone completely focussed on gaming performance.

  • Still too expensive I think sub $600 I would get one

I just bought and was able to negotiate 2 years damage cover (worth $179) for the same price :-).
