  • This vs x90?

  • I'm finding my aimesh Asus unreliable. Thinking of changing to this. Anyone have one?

Is there an easy way to share a USB drive across the network?

    • I have the Ax75 and it's solid and easy to set up. Not sure on this model but mine doesn't have a usb input. You'll need to check.

    • +2

Same I returned mine. Switched to tplink mesh x68 and no issues. Takes less than 5mins to setup with the app.

      • I have x68 as well. It's great. Changed from Google wifi

    • I can add to the list who don't have the same model but recommend theirs! I have an X20. Can't fault it, aside from the limited features/settings available. For example you can't schedule the wifi to turn off when you're asleep! So I guess I use more power than I used to

    • I got this one last year when it was $10 cheaper. Upgraded from an older Tp-link Archer C9 and using them with a wireless backhaul. Has been pretty solid and devices that used to have connection issues with the older router are connecting fine with this set up.

Have only had one case from memory where my TV was connecting to the further node rather than the closest one. Rebooting the node fixed it.

More ethernet ports on each node would be nice, but a cheap switch daisy chained is an easy workaround

    • I got these about a month ago and am loving it. Wifi 6 works great - huge range and I'm getting 700mbit/sec within 10meters. Also very easy to set up ethernet backhaul (it's all just automatic). Love the deco's defo recommend

    • +1 for asus aimesh unreliability.

For those with access, the x50 3 pack is $314 at TGG Commercial.

Any major differences between OPs X55 and the X50? So many TPLink models available its pretty confusing. Id rather get 3 than 2 if there are no major differences 😆

      • +1

The x55 has a black top! They also have different chips, x55 being Qualcomm, and x50 uses Broadcom. I have the x55 and am about to set up the x50 for my FIL so I'll see if there are any objective differences - I suspect there won't be, and if there were, the extra unit would still make it worth the difference.

        • Thanks for the info

  • Hi all, I just did the Wired Backhaul Ethernet Mesh System Using TP Link Deco X68 and very good results and constant Speed.

I will be switching to MoreNBN Today for Better plans ( Thanks To Commbank )

  • What determines antenna strength? I've got a large acreage and want to get wifi outside the house as far as possible.

    • I haven't focused on outdoor units but in order to improve the signal you need to cover the perimeter of the property using multiple units ( and you need 3 bands 2.4,5 and addtional 5 so that mesh nodes can handshake with each other to minimise the loss of speed and signal).

On a quick Search, the first unit came is TP Link Deco X50, there will be more but how much u want to spend and what sort of requirement is there

  • for what it's worth I've got the x20. it was long time since upgrading but the most apparent thing was the lack of customisations, then again I never really needed all that. if you're after a setup that with minimal setup, these units are for you.

  • Hi there, I am thinking of switching to More NBN due to the discount offered by CBA and need to decide on the modem, Please share your experience/ recommendation with eero 6+ | 2 wifi device or Netcomm NF20 Wifi 6 + 1 Satellite ?

    • What NBN connection do you have? FTTN?
The Netcomm is a modem/router while the eero 6+ is just a router I believe.

      • It’s FTTP. Thanks

        • You only need a router then. I currently use Deco M5 x 3 at my place on FTTP and they been rock solid for me. These X55 would be even better.
The eero 6+ would what you want out of the two you listed but someone else could provide more information on which to use out of the eero and X55.

  • For those that are interested, the price for the 2-pack has dropped to $269. The price for the 3-pack has dropped to $379 from $419 (ordered at this price this morning and just cancelled to reorder at lower price).

  • how do i connect my home phone line to this?
My existing wifi router has a home phone line out

    • You on FTTN? This is a router. You'll need a modem in front of the TP-Link

      • isnt this mesh wifi similar to the google nest? Aussie broadband his this in their list of modems and if you want home phone you have to get a Voip adaptor with them. Grandstream HT812

Why doesnt optus who I am on provide this option
