Noticed after ordering you can get another $10 off signing up to the newsletter but had already checked out

Could not find any details regarding the code but seems to work on everything else I tried including bikes and sale items, plus free shipping at $129.99.

My bike has got 700x32c tyres. Would I be able to use the 28c's?

    • +2

Depends on rim width but almost certainly I’d say

    • Good chance on most rims as mentioned but you can also get 700x32c on their other product page for a few bucks more (sucky website organisation honestly).

I considered 32c but ultimately 28c was the narrowest recommended for my rims. I'm dropping down from 38c chunky schwalbe gravel tyres, hopefully shave a few minutes off my commute.

Then (lack of) tread will make the biggest difference, not the width. The cycling world's understanding of tyre width and pressure has changed markedly over the last few years, with people moving from extremely skinny 23c tyres at 100PSI to bigger tyres running not a lot more than half that pressure.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!

Do NOT buy anything from this site. They falsely advertised an item they do not stock. They took my $650.00 payment over 2 weeks ago and are now (after next to no reply to my emails) claiming the accounts keeper only being present on certain days, & it can take a few working days before a refund can be processed. it’s been over a 2 weeks and no refund or communication since. I’ve missed all the eofys sale prices now so even if I do ever receive a refund I’ll will miss out on this product thanks to this dodgy company.

    • Best to pay with credit card/PayPal so you can charge back I guess?

I think the ASIC thing is a furphy though, they probably were shuffling business entities around.
Admittedly this was harder to find than it probably should have been as wasn't on their website, and they seem to have a few trusts they operate under.

why bother? 90% chance anything you buy will be an issue so why go there when there are plenty reputable cycle stores around? eg. pushys, wiggle, 99bikes etc
….unless you like wasting time, potentially losing money and stressing over purchases?
oh and this isnt new….theyve been dodgy for years. try calling them for a product enquiry and see where you get…..

  • Will these tyres work on a normal road bike? From memory circumference 2080mm

    • +1

Most road bikes are 700c (confusingly 622mm diameter for the rim itself), but I would strongly suggest to check your rims to see if the rim size is marked or look it up against the part number.

Match the diameter to the tyre exactly, widths are more flexible and you can check against a width chart.

      • Ok, thank you.

    • The short answer is most likely. If your road bike is really old then the tyre width may be an issue, but the diameter will not be. These tyres are heavy, with a lot of puncture protection, and are slow.

  • so did anyone bite the bullet and buy? ….hows your order coming along?
…genuinely interested to see if theyre as bad as people say

I ordered, happy to update once I receive it. Thus far just got an order confirmation.

Order was picked up from their warehouse by auspost today (Wednesday) for an order I placed after business close last Friday. So far seems reasonable to me.

      • lucky they have what you ordered in stock. what did you get…was it a common item?

        • Just the tyres, couple of chains and some tubes, nothing too obscure.
Auspost delivered today although I'm in Melbourne so it didn't have to go far. Will have to check when I get home whether everything is as expected.

Ordered a new chain ring off Amazon which is taking longer, but it's an oddball one as my drivetrain is "vintage". It's getting drop shipped out of China, expected on the 14th-21st but tracking shows it landed in Melbourne this morning.
