Got a couple of these on sale from DJs a while back. Mine leaked, wife found lid too hard to get on and off. Not impressed for the price.
Wife's friend recommended Avanti GoCup. Been pretty happy with it, easy to clean, seals well, good value. I bought this one from Amazon

      • Agree. The lid on mine was fine (except it leaked), but the blue one I got for the missus was firmer, and for lady fingers, unusable. YMMV. Certainly malfunctions in both cases. Both are in the bin. Just giving my experience.

I find keep cup lids hard to take on and off whilst keeping the cup stable. It requires a little too much force, which can then unstabilise the cup.

GoCup all the way. About one out of every twenty times I don't screw it on right, so I just tip it horizontal to check for leaks. Operator error, not product error.

A very solid and long-lasting cup that keeps my coffee warm for four to five hours. Beyond that, it becomes teacher's blend. Still drinkable, but not overly warm.

    • They do leak and the plastic lids break easily

PSA: If you are in Melbourne, you can go to their Keepcup office (Clifton Hill) and bring in the leak lids and they will do a swap for free.

      • +2

If it's a known issue, they should be replacing them by sending free lids.

I have used the Avanti for a few years and can attest to its quality. Used to get up 6am in the morning and make a long black in it, chuck it into my backpack and took a 1.5 hr train to work. Still steamy hot at 9am.

      • Does it leak in your backpack? Can I put it arbitrarily rather than straight up at side pocket?

        • +1

The lid is design to prevent leak so no, it doesn't leak. But I always try to flip it over first over the sink to test it out, and one time the coffee came straight out because I forgot to put the o ring back to the lid after cleaning lol
Edit: forgot to mention but I also try to put it straight up for extra caution, and put it in the side pocket whenever I can

    • Aggre with Avanti. Had mine for about 7 years now. Broke 1 lid and they sent a replacement. Still going strong.

    • No problems with my small plastic one or medium glass one. Glass one is a tighter fit but it's also been used less. Neither of them leak. But I got both for free so not too fussed either way.

  • Had one too and the lid broke off as well.
Now using a kinto thermos for coffee does better job and is insulated.

I won’t buy another keep cup. I’ve had three (plastic, glass, stainless) and the lids on all of them leak when you take a sip. I don’t know what I could be doing wrong

I had run into those same issues for years until a friend put me on to Fressko cups. Not the cheapest but I've had mine for a couple of years now and never had any issues.

Great seal that my wife is so confident of she has it laying sideways in her bag on the way to work. Also managed to keep the coffee hot for a good couple of hours with no trouble. Lastly unlike other cups ive used it has a really comfy mouthpiece to drink out of… weird but true.

      • Only thing is it's a bit hard to clean the inside of the lid, especially the mouthpiece nook. It's manageable, but not easy

Also the sizing is a little too small imho - if the barista fills it even slightly over the line, the excess can overspill when the lid is screwed on. Especially if you like cappuccino or whatever with a bit of foam

        • Agreed with overflow if its too full. Worth noting that on the Fressko site you can now buy a mega 16 Oz (473ml) for all your caffeine needs!

I never thought that cleaning the head was too bad, but then in the early days i had the Thermos spec ones with the spring action button to open the mouth piece. Now THAT was a pain in the ass and dank as hell because it was impossible to clean!

Can anyone comment on the 7-11 coffee travel cups? Are they good?

  • I really like the Thermos King Travel Mug, 470ml, https://amzn.asia/d/5fBlzJn
I sometimes even keep it horizontally since I'm quite confident that it doesn't spill.
The downside is it's big. 470ml is alot. Wish they had a smaller version. They have a version without the handle for cheaper if that's preferable.

    • Check out the Thermos Thermocafe, comes in 200ml ('normal coffee size'), and 350ml varients. Never leaks, it's great

      • I've had 3 or 4 Thermocafe products. They are good enough but never as impressive as the "Thermos"/"Thermos King" branded products for some reason.

  • I like my Tiger 370ml thermos. First time I used it I used boiling water and my coffee was undrinkably hot for 8 hours lol

  • I've had a few keep cups and found the plastic ones are fine for a while but end up leaking after a while. The glass ones I have have been fine for now, but the main one I use will have a drip every now and then. I got mine for free, but would definitely be pissed at RRP.

  • Judging by the comments here I got lucky as mine doesn't leak.

    • Yet :(

    • Ditto. Both of mine are fine.

  • I’ve had two of these for 6 years or more and never had a leak. Guess I got lucky. Both are glass. Wonder if stainless and plastic are more likely to leak?

    • I've got a plastic and a glass. Neither of them leak a single drop.

    • Mine were stainless, you may be on to something.

  • Got a stainless screw lid one to replace my free swag plastic ones from many years ago

    Rubbish lid that will leak.

  • I can't get that price no matter how many items i add, only the 30%, this deal may be over
