Where do they come up with these names 😂

    • China or Taiwan

    • +1

Reminds me of the Clungene brand of rona tests. I'd ask for the clunge every time i got a sniffle

  • +1

i love my pok3r but it's time for something new. is this a good intro into the new world of accessibly-priced custom keebs?

    • +2

If you want a pre-built, it seems like a good option. If you want to build on the cheap, the Gmk67 is phenomenal and can be had for ~$50 on Aliexpress without switches and caps.

  • Yep just bought one yesterday

  • Better than $95 Drop Alt?

    • +1

In stock unlike the Drop Alt, so yeah.

    • I've tried it for a bit at a retail store while overseas, the quality was impressive and I like how the linear switch performed. Though the knob feels a little bit useless to most users.

        • +5

I know, I use the knob on my gmmk pro all the time, but this knob on the H81 is only for switching between the connection modes (wireless/Bluetooth).

          • @beOson: Yikes?? I use my keychron one for volume and muting. Was tempted but thanks for this.

            • @ozchobie: Yeah, i became aware of this keyboard for a few months and even saw it drop to this price on ebay and i didn't think it was worth it due to the connection mode knob wasting so much space

      • Yea the knob isnt the best, id rather have it to change vol and pause/unpause audio.

        • Look at my post then CK721

    • Yes. This has gasket mount and a separated plate at least

Heads up: all payment types except via ZIP will add another $0.95 transactional fee (AMEX is another $1.58 on top). No option for cash on pick up.

    • They do walk in and accept cash. Also no surcharge on savings card insert from what I remember.

      • Fair. But I was tinkering around the payment and there was no option for Debit and/or Saving. Only credit/PayPal/AMEX and Zip.

        • They do it instore for debit and saving. No option online though

  • Wow this looks like exactly what I have been looking for in terms of connectivity. Just so annoying how most of those types of keyboards don't come full size with a num pad etc. :(

    • RK96 would be the equivalent with numpad.

    • +1

      Or Ajazz 92

      • Thanks, I went with that one:)

    • +1

You could buy a seperate numpad, they go for maybe like 15 bucks. I think keychron has some mechanical kb with numpads

  • +1

Would still advise to go for a keychron Q-series. More expensive, but well worth the extra.

Would perform better than this, +120 worth of modding.

    • +2

It's three times the price. And would perform very poorly if you need wireless connectivity because it doesn't have it.

      • +2

        The Q-pros have wireless champ.

Choose a model that isn’t 3x the price, and has a layout and connectivity that suits you… in terms of a non-modded mech keyboard, keychron is as best as they come for the price

        • K Pros also have wireless and are much cheaper

      • +2

There is also the Q pro series which does have wireless connectivity.

Personally, I didn't like the connection time of any Bluetooth keyboard I tried including the standard Mac keyboard. I'm now using a wired keyboard.

    • Considering Q1 Pro as well, the current keyboard (YZ75) does everything I need, comes with Gateron Yellow, and aesthetically pleasing. But the wireless connectivities are sh*t.

The first one didn't work (could not save pairings, needed to re-pair every single time). The replacement (new) works 95% of the time, but still random disconnects, ghost keys, slow to switch between BT channels, super slow between BT and 2.4GHz. Coming from Logitech, the expectation is high, whiles it's "boring" but it doesn't any wireless problems.

Q1 Pro looks good, but missing 2.4GHz, not sure how BT performs.

    • Wish they has a 2.4ghz model Bluetooth too laggy for gaming

      • Keychron doesn't do 2.4GHz, while it is an open spectrum, but often require proprietary protocols, probably not something high on their list to invest in R&D. Cheaper keyboards just copy each other, probably the reason why they perform poorly. Logitech is in the game long enough, they have the expertise and scale of economy to produce peripherals "cheaply" that just work.

  • Would this be good for general office and some coding? Does it have home and end keys?

Anyway to check stock levels at Adelaide?

    • +1

Unsure, most of the Devs I know are using ortholinear 30%

      • +2

How many "Devs" do you know?

        • +1

          /s

    • +2

      Be fine.

Other keys are available with fn+<key>. The default keycap set has the second function printed on it.

      • Yeah I can see them on the Amazon listing. I think it might annoy me not having the dedicated keys… Hmmm

Can you map other keys in Windows without installing software (don't have admin rights on work laptop)

        • AHK portable, maybe

          • @ihfree: Thanks I'll have a look at that 👍🏻⌨️

        • Yep, my keyboard I got a new keycap set and there are 3 keys on the side which I changed to my liking via the software - no need to keep the software running aswell, and all new binds work onother laptops so I assume it flashed somewhere on the keyboard. You can probably do this for this keyboard as well.

My keyboard im using is Gamakay LK67

          • @JXXY1337: Thanks!

          • @JXXY1337: So you mean you updated the firmware?

            • @beebul: I suppose it does, because the whole keyboard flashes the reconnects when i apply the changes - this was via the gamakay software. It does not affect other keyboards.

        • AFAIK windows key mapping involves MS Powertoys or registry changes.

          • @rumblytangara: You could probably do it that way or use a different software if the keyboard software doesn’t come with that function although most do

        • I am in the same situation re not being able to run drivers at work. My keyboard and mouse both have onboard storage, so I've just set them up at home and use them software-less at work.

Someone will need to confirm if this keyboard has onboard storage, though (very likely)

Pretty good price for a gasket mount custom keyboard, however not a knob keyboard and no custom key settings which could be annoying for some.

  • Anyone have any idea how its battery life is? online only mentions up to x00 hours or up to 1 week of battery life but don't mention if it's using 2.4ghz/bluetooth connection with lights on or off.

    • +1

Usually with RGB on battery only lasts a few days, so 200 hours is most certainly with lights off.

      • Ah thx thx, a few days with lights on seems good enough for me actually

        • +1

Possibly you can make the battery life better if the software allows you to dim the leds without turning them off

This looks like a cheap clone of cooler master keyboard CK721, which is basically the same price

    https://www.umart.com.au/product/cooler-master-masterkeys-ck…

    • That's how most 75% layout keyboard look like, surely CM didn't invent that layout.

Also the one you linked is a 65% layout, it doesn't have function keys.

Not saying which one is better or worse, but it's not a "cheap clone".

    • +1

Practically every 75% board with a knob in existence for the past 5 or more years has followed the same design.

Some might have the knob at the ESC key instead. But that's about it for variation.

CoolerMaster did not come up with this design. It was as probably some obscure enthusiast with a CNC machine.

      • The only other common difference is exploded or inline arrows and 3x1U mods or 2x1.25U mods.

As far as I can tell the CM doesn't have a gasket, which is one of the main selling points to this keyboard.

        • The only interesting keyboard I am aware of from Coolermaster was their Topre-based Novatouch from 5+ years ago. And that was pretty bad compared to a Realforce Topre. I don't think they've done anything original, ever. On the other hand, Royal Kludge has made some truly weird keyboards in their time, that were probably only ever available in China.

  • If anyone is curious what you can use the rotary knob for, i use mine for volume (obviously) and have set clicking it in for play/pause for content

  • -1

For when you absolutely must compute from a food tray

  • This brand is generally well reviewed by YouTube for budget keyboards

  • -1

What the hell is a Kludge? Sounds like some kind of soup from Ukraine. Or a brand of engine grease.
