TCL 65" C745 QLED Google TV $1269.99 Delivered @ Costco Online (Membership Required)

400

First time poster. I've been closely monitoring the TCL 2023 C-series televisions. This 65-inch model is the lowest I've seen in weeks.

For this size & model, the next-lowest prices from competitors are:
- $1380 (Appliance Central)
- $1395 (Video Pro)
- $1428 (Billy Guyatts)
- $1695 (JB Hi-Fi)

The superior C845 mini-LED model is popular and well-reviewed. Meanwhile the C745 seems to serve a slightly lower-budget tier while maintaining key features (144hz refresh rates, FALD, with dimming zones).

Review for reference: https://cybershack.com.au/reviews/tcl-c745-qled-4k-google-tv…

Tempted to hold out and see whether competitors begin offering comparable prices on these models. (JB recently raised the price of their 65" from $1495 to $1695 in likely prep for an upcoming discount). Also useful to note that TCL recently announced their 2024 lineup.

Regardless, may pull the trigger on this one. Not sure if I have the patience to hold out much longer.

EDIT: For anyone looking at this model: I'd definitely advise picking these up in-store for the cheaper $1149 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/798732) unless you're not worried about shipping times / no transportation available. Currently looking at 2-3 weeks to move from NSW to SA (1 week passed with no estimates available yet)

We need a decent discount on the 98” version. I’d jump at that if it had a 3 at the front.

Just wish they did the c845 at that size.

      398 inch ?

      • Haha, yes. I was going to put $3 at the front but thought someone would make fun of that, too. Price needs to start with a 3.

Second a good price on 98” model!

    • +1

What on earth are you using a 98" TV for?

        Dining table

Instead of a home theatre projector.

Heating and drying paint, oh and FIGJAM'ing visitors

    • The bigger the better…..if its too big, your too old ;)

I bought this tv about 3 weeks ago, so happy with it. The picture quality is amazing, OS is as fast as my nvidia shield pro. I got mine for $1225 delivered from JB. This is still a good price for it.

    • Sounds like a positive review! What do you think about reflection of lamps etc in your room and the viewing angle? This review says these are two weaknesses of this model: https://cybershack.com.au/reviews/tcl-c745-qled-4k-google-tv…

      • +3

Our tv is in the living room right next to a big sliding glass door, plenty of sunlight during the day and I have no such issues. In terms of viewing angles, our couch is right in front of tv so cant really tell.

I was going to buy c845 first but decided to save money and get this instead as i like to upgrade my tvs every couple of years. Imo, this tv is very bright.

I have one, it's in a room with open windows, picture is good, sit off to the side where I sit no issue with viewing angle.

The picture runs rings around my previous 75" lg but to be fair that was edge lit

    • I bought this TV last month for my son's room. Not a bad TV for the price. One annoying bug I find on this and it has been reported before by a lot TV reviewers and online forums is the built-in YouTube app. There appears to be a very WARM tone colour when watching videos from YouTube. You would notice it a lot when you see people skin. Plug-in a streaming box, like an Apple TV and the warm tone doesn't appear on the Apple TV YouTube app.

I really hope TCL fixes this issue soon.

      • +3

I don't use the built-in youtube app, instead i use smart tube and have had no issues with the color tone. The best thing about this is its free with no ads and comes with way more features. I'd never use the official app, recommend giving it a go.

  • need the 43 at a good price

I paid 1380 for the 75 a couple of months ago, great TV for the price

    • +1

Which retailer did you make the purchase? I’m looking at the 75inch also

      • good guys, to be honest though, it was a website pricing error that they honoured, doubt it'll happen at that price for a while

        • +3

And you didn't share it with OzBargain??? Sir, please leave your ozb badge.

          • +3

@bluehalk: sorry sir, won't happen again! next time I find a bug in their price match app, that can be exploited, I'll post it up :)

I will wait for the X955 or C955. The new models from TCL.

I ordered the 65 c845 just the other day from good guys, got it for $1410, was $1440 but guy took off another $30.

    Was an in-store special

    • That's highway robbery! Thank you - will check if my local GG is also running that promo.

    • Very good price for a new model. Is it a pick up? or delivery included?

    • that's pretty good. I picked up the same from HN for $1850 inc delivery last week for the parents. GG didn't have stock online when I checked at the time. Even now they have the 55, 75 and 85. 55 is $1495. I purchased it with my Amex Explorer to extend its warranty to 4yrs.

      • +1

Just gave GG a quick call and they said they had only 1 left at $1995. $1850 is solid, absolute steal at $1410!

        • mine was also the last one the HN store had in stock

  • Was for pickup but nowhere in WA had stock on hand, expecting stock by the 13th September so bought on backorder.

  • +1

Shame they don't have the 85". Two places with fairly good prices are NSW-only

  • +1

    Selling for $1,150 instore

    • which store?

      • +2

        Epping VIC

        • Also ringwood.

  • Very tempted. Plasma died today and its not a good time to drop $3k on OLED like I planned.

Seems like be about the best budget option if I need something quick.

    • This is not an Android TV… So if you need Goolge Play Store Apps, then it ain't the one for you.

      • I’ve been using a google tv dongle anyway so this probably suits me better. Not really sure what I’m missing not having android tv. ??

Bought one today in store. Pretty damn good for the money I reckon.

    • Bugger. I wonder if you can cancel the online order and just grab it in store?

At least it’ll be worth the wait ;).
