Probably the best price in Australia. However according to their FAQ section, their products are grey imports so no Australian Manufacturer's warranty: http://www.d-d-photographics.com.au/pages/Faqs.html
Better than buying from somewhere like DWI I guess.
    Ohyeah, shipping is $35.95

    • We just bought a Canon 650D from DD Photo .. very pleased with the purchase.

But you can avoid shipping cost if you don't mind driving to north Sydney store..

    • DWI also sells grey imports, no manufacturers warranty.
I've dealt with their local agent under warranty - worst experience ever!
DWI is quick to sell - anything goes wrong they don't want to know you.

  • It may be a full frame camera with 24 mega pixels sensor. But, I reckon for most people who take photos as hobby and hardly even print their photos, D700 is a camera worth considering.

    • +3

D700 is only about $500 cheaper 2nd hand with no warranty. It doesnt have video, only 12 MP. Heavier. No easy Wifi option, etc.

      • -3

True, but do you need the video? Maybe not. Do you need more than 12 MP if you never print? Definitely not. For most people, 12 MP is more than what you need. D700 is better built (feel more comfortable to hold), you won't need i7 to process the RAW files, and you won't need few extra terabytes to save the files.

        • A person after a camera with a FF sensor will not want to buy a D700. Get over it.

        • -3

          A D700 HAS a Full Frame sensor.
D7000 is the crop sensor model

D700 has a full weather proof alloy body - D600 only top and bottom.
D600 has more mega pixels in the same size sensor = more noise, bigger files, slower.

Personally, real photographers will be jumping on all the cheap second hand D700s coming on the market while wanna be's pay too much for cameras that will never make them a better photographer - the same as me buying a Ferrari will never make me win a GP.

        • -1

Couldn't agree more. Save money and buy a second hand d300S if you want video - and a D700 if you don't . This camera (D600) never needed to be any more than 16-17 MP

        • Sorry I was abt up give + but stupid mobile. How do I reverse this??

        • "D600 has more mega pixels in the same size sensor = more noise, bigger files, slower."

Rubbish. D600 has less noise & has much cleaner images then D700.

          Eg: http://www.imaging-resource.com/IMCOMP/COMPS01.HTM

Real photographers?! Real photographers go out & take photos instead of rubbishing the camera before they actually seen one.
If you want to go for camera from 2008 go for it.
Personally I would pick D600 - people that actually SEEN photos from it reckon the quality is much closer to D800, yet it is till a prosumer camera.
I still use my D200, very happy with it, but would love to move to full frame camera with great low light capability - Nikon D600 seems perfect.
The only issue is the ridicules Australian pricing.

for more than 2K camera I would go for australian warranty. less hassle in long run

    • +1

You are true however they have local store @ north Sydney & they very good with warranty. Almost all of my camera gears are bought from them..

      • Do you ever need to claim your warranty cover from them ?
Heard mixed stories about warranty from that shop.

      • yes but it's not australian warranty. If they go bankrupt, you need to go to HK or SG.. Plus your original HKG/SG nikon warranty card, normally has been taken out.. which means you still can't claim it even if you go to SG/HKG..:(

I brought something minor from them recently,

Wasn't entirely pleased with the customer service and very hard to contact over the phone

A real ozbargainer would make their own pin hole camera from left over sanitarium up'n'go boxes!

This will make an excellent coffee cup coaster with the $1000 'mug' I bought last week.
