The title and price aren't a mistake. This monster of a flashlight from Wuben is capable of producing up to 12,000 lumens up to of light up to 303m that brings night time activites to a whole new area. In this video from 4:20 you can see how bright it really is when in turbo mode.

Obviously when in turbo mode it's only for a limited time due to how much power it consumes. The next level down is 3000 lumens and it can run in this mode for 1.7 hours. To help with the heat generated there's an inbuilt fan for active cooling.

Other modes include high (2600lm), medium (1000lm), low (400lm), eco (20lm), strobe (3000lm) and SOS (200lm). It's using 3x CRE XHP70.20 6000K LEDs, has an IP55 waterproof rating, uses two 21700 batteries for a total of 4800mAh battery capacity with 27W USB-C fast charging and weighs 379g total.

ok you're right, claimed 12000 but measured 9000 @ 30 seconds if you bothered to check the link

in fact you claiming it does max 2500 is far more inaccurate to actuality than the manufacturer's claim of 12000

          • +1

            @Bacons: They only claim 12000 for ~1 second 😂

          • @Bacons: Measured how? By whom? Using what calibrated and certified equipment?

No I didn't claim anything, I simply said it would be LUCKY to be pushing 2500 lumens.

Manufacturers do not have to be truthful with lumen claims which is why we see 100,000 lumen torches all over Amazon.

The link to the review you posted hasn't been calibrated. If you look at torque test channel they at least sent there globe off to be calibrated and use proper testing equipment.

            • @Homerlovesbeer: wow you got me there, yep this light doesnt do more than 2500 lumens you were correct. I should've known better!

              • @Bacons: It's obviously a decent product. I have 2 Webens torches and I love them. Apologies if I have been a tad particular on claims.

                • @Homerlovesbeer:

Apologies if I have been a tad particular highly inaccurate on claims.

You're right about ludicrous Amazon lumen claims but way off target lumping this torch in with them. At least 4 independent reviewers got ~9500lm max, 9000 at 30-60 sec at which point it stepped down, as most would expect.

Thanks got two for my bicycle

are you sure it's legal? seems like it would be unsafe and distract drivers in cars.

      • +1

I live in qld everything is legal here, cowboy country.

I'll point them down will be fine

      • sear their eyeballs out more like it!!

  • +2

think my 1000lumen bike light was $5

  • Are you able to replace these batteries when they're old and dont hold charge anymore?

    • +1

Yep. Its using two 21700 batteries and you can replace them with your own.

    • +1

The manufacturer doesn't recommend opening the torch up.

That said, the screws at the bottom can be removed with a 1.5 hex driver.

There's a lot of pressure on the cells from the springs. You may want to hold the tailcap down while unscrewing.

Unprotected flat top cells fit. E.g. Samsung 50S, Molicel P42A. Ideally they should be "matched" with the same voltage and internal resistance so that the voltages hopefully remain similar when being charged in series.

The PCBs with the springs have a + and - for the battery direction.

Since getting a dog and having to walk her at night, have fallen into the r/flashlight collecting trap. Have 5 now. Maybe 6 after this post. Who knows.

    • Yes, dog collecting can be addictive. Do you walk your five (or six!) dogs individually, or at once? And how many torches do you have? Do any of your dogs have a preference?

    • I bought exactly for this, usually having to walk dog at night after work but now that winter is over, hate those spider cobwebs, going to try using this vertically hoping to be able to spot them before running into them.

      • hate those spider cobwebs

They’re a little ambitious trying to catch and digest a human, hey…

      • Are you sure that they are cobwebs? They could be spider webs.

    • +1

Nah never received commission on any posts. I just happen to know what's popular sometimes. As proven by the votes.

    These comments have been illuminating.

    • I knew posting this would bring out the local troll and I was right.

Sorry man. I thought my pun was fairly light touch.

        • +4

          It brightened my day.

  • 27W fast charge is impressive. Would love to try this out.

Wuben X2 is also 20% off.

    • +1

I'd avoid the X2. It has a small and soldered battery.

      See this review.

      • +3

It's nice to encourage manufacturers to have replaceable batteries. 😊

Wuben X0 the only one in the series with a truly replaceable 18350. X1 too, but it requires a 1.5 hex driver and charging two 21700 cells in series isn't ideal.

        • +3

Hey, it's you! Your work and detailed reviews are very appreciated

          • +2

@Caped Baldy: Hey! Thank you :-)

            • @Tim Mc: I just checked out your website and I'm surprised to see so many reviews. If I was looking for something portable to light up completely dark underground tunnels what would you recommend?

              • @Clear: Do you have any other flashlights cos you might be going into a deep rabbithole

                • +1

@Caped Baldy: Yeah plenty of the smaller Wuben and Sofirn. I'm after heaps of brightness at a distance with a good amount of spread. Mainly because there can be seedy people in the city tunnels and random holes in the mineshafts.

                  • @Clear: i know u didnt ask me but im going to recommend the x75 70.3 anyways haha, that thing is a load of fun

                    • @Bacons: 67,000 lumens wow! Franco and co would have a meltdown if we tried to share that. Impressive specs. What sort of battery life could I expect without the boost circuit?

                      • +1

@Clear: without? cant imagine it being any good. The driver in the X75 is excellent though, the sustained output is the highest in this form factor, better than even the massive imalent ms18

                        • @Bacons: Maybe I've misunderstood what they mean by boost circuit. That's not some addon?

                          • @Clear: ah ok, yeah it is not an addon, boost is just the type of driver, it converts lower voltage to higher voltage, buck driver does the opposite

              • @Clear: Are the tunnels about two metres wide and fifty metres long?

I'd recommend the Sofirn C8L as a thrower with a wide hot spot and decent spill. It should last about 2 hours on High and sustain over 1,000 lm. The driver is really good.

The OP reflector and XHP50.3 emitter produces a wide beam. The hot spot may light up a person 20 metres away but it is probably too narrow to light up a group of people standing 1-2 metre a part on High. Turbo would do the trick.

The beam will reach about 380 metres on High. It'd be hard to identify stuff at that distance but it should he more than enough when looking at 50 to 100 metres.

I've taken some beamshots. I'll refrain from self-promotion by linking. 😅

A NEXTORCH TA30C or even a Cyansky P25 V2 produce wide beams while still having some throw. They'd both light up a tunnel and have less of a hot spot. I'd probably recommend the TA30C where you can have it in Low or Medium and smash the tail button for momentary High. It seems better for tactical situations.

There are so many torches to choose from. 🥵

                • +1

@Tim Mc: The main tunnels are about 10m wide and the length is often 100-500m between curves. While others are a tad over a metre long.

They all sound like good recommendations so I'll check out some videos. Thanks!

  • +1

Can't believe this is sold out when no-one has listed any actual use for this torch.

    • +1

To light up darkness. Boom function of a flashlight.

      • +1

and what are you doing at that time? and why do you keep avoiding the question?

        • What question?

          • @Clear: what is your use case for the torch?

            • +1

@matt-ozb: That was covered above. Basically I explore underground tunnels below cities and old mines. The city tunnels range from <1m wide to 10m with some stretches being 200m+ long without a curve. As for old mines the risk there is random deep holes.

This image is from a different light deal. With the light off it's complete darkness. No natural light in any direction.

  • Received mine today, box appears to be unsealed with the factory tape cut. Just wondering if anyone has the same from this seller? Or has amazon sent an open boxed product.
