Hi Ozbargainers,

Its been a few weeks since I've been able to post a Fexo heavy deal as the stock just hasn't been available, fast forward and now we are swimming in Fexo for the Spring Season. I thought I'd kick off the permutations of Fexo with a solid offering of Fexo + Cetirizine, I still have a carton of short dated Loratadine left (which expires at the end of this month) so that's in the bundle as well - please note this adds nothing by way of cost to the bundle - it was gratis to me and I am passing it on.

I've got >100 of these sets ready to go, so I am sure there is plenty for everyone and the deal should run until the end of this month, so if you're a bit hard up on cash this week, I am sure they'll be stock available for the next few weeks if you can't buy today.

    Loratadine End September 2023
Literally been selling these packs for 3 years! (Got some September 2023 dated in 2020)

How does that work? Do they only make Loratadine in batches? I doubt a company says hey, let's buy 5x our annual sales of this, and see if we can sell it over a long time.

Yes - they make in batches. Allot of medication is made under contract by very few manufactuers, ie. This week they make Loratadine for brand X, then the next week they make for brand Y and the week after for brand Z - This is why I cannot understand why many (many) people always tell me brand X works better than brand Y. Dr Reddy's don't actually have a newer batch of Loratadine, they've been trading on the stock purchased in 2020 for 3 years. Next month - they expect their next batch to come in (probably 3 years supply), problem is the price will be at the top of its price cycle - it may disappear from Ozbargain for a year or two if its too expensive, as the expiry nears - the price may come down and we'll be on this wheel again.

Near the expiry some manufacturers offer the top clients large batches at a discounted price, then near the end of the products life they give it away as bonus stock with the purchase of other products. Loratadine (Lorazol) has been in the giveaway phase for a couple of months.

Other manufacturers try to preserve pricing and literally burn/destroy zillions of boxes of medication rather than discounting their product as it nears expiry as they dont want their brand tarnished by discounting.

Its actually pretty sad, people around the world cannot get medication and live miserable lives or die - and here in Australia we burn product rather than letting pricing come down as a product reaches end of life. Thanks Big Pharma.

      • To be fair, this is not a unique issue to BigPharma. Big Fruit also does this and throw away plenty of fruit everyday enough to make any fruit loving bat drool. BigClothing also the same.

BigOrganic loves to instill fear into people so that they buy their overpriced goods.

BigFuel likes to keep their product prices high by controlling supply. $2 per L baby!

Thanks for the info though. I learnt something new about the batch concept!

  • Wait. What?

  • literally started sneezing today. HATE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When can we expect a deal on Wegovy?

    asking for a friend… 👀

  • do all these meds essentially do the same thing?

    • Google can provide very in depth comparisons: https://www.google.com/search?q=fexofenadine+vs+loratadine+v…

      • can there be an arguement that you should take a variety so you don't grow a tolerance to one?

        • +1

That is usually why people will purchase a combo deal like this, so they can cycle through to minimise tolerance buildup but also to just try them out to see what works best for them.

  • My hayfever getting worse now
So can I buy this combo deal and take a pill once a day?

  • Can these be express posted?

    • Sure - please select express post at checkout

  • got any travel calm meds?

Pity my main allegy season is ending (hockey - seem to cop it either from the mist on water turf, or grass around the venue). Anyway, plenty for next year.
