4K USB-C to HDMI Cable 3m $15, RGB Wired Controller $15 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass/ $65 Order) @ Kmart

610

Two items from the clearance bin that still have plenty of stock around. The cable has now been reduced by a further $4, and was $39. It might be a deal since JB is selling the same length with 4K for $49.95

Controller was $35 but is click and collect only. Comes with a 12 month warranty and works with Switches, Windows PCs, Androids and PS3.

the controller seems to work with switch or ps3

both probably not licensed but an odd choice

    Thanks OP!

While awesome deal, yet I can’t help question the merits of such price reductions for the cables. I find them extremely overpriced compared to similar products placed on online stores like eBay etc.

Please educate me if I’m wrong… I find similar products for around $10 on eBay on a normal day. What would be the advantage of going for this (apart from warranty) as opposed to the ones on eBay.

You can walk into a K mart tomorrow, and walk back in for a return. Online deliveries are ok if you don’t need the thing instantly, but returns are a pain most of the time. Even when they’re free returns, you have to package and post it.

      • Yeah I suppose the warranty is an advantage. But I barely have issues with basic products like cables so unless the cable is outright faulty, they hardly fail later on for me to worry about warranty.
I’m still gonna probably pull the trigger and get one as a spare anyway lol

    • the quality of the physical cable itself can differ greatly between brands. Some are rigid and break as soon as you look at them, others are flexible fit properly and last a long time.
      I bought a $7 hdmi cable from reject shop and it's sh!t.

    • good question!

  • What HDMI version/speed is this? Can it do 4K 120Hz?

I would avoid these cheap/no name usb c to hdmi cables, had one power surged one of my usb c ports on my laptop, now that port no longer works.

A safer option is to use a dongle or a usbc hub with hdmi

    • Why is no name hub safer

      • +1

because the hub or dongle will get fried first instead if your port

    With Galaxy S23 Ultra I need 8K

    • But you're stuck at 30 frames in 8k (assuming you're using this to watch videos you've recorded in 8k) there's no point. Far better off at 4k 60.

  • Cheers, grabbed a controller.

Usbc input is a winner for me.

Hopefully can get it to work with my S23U

    • good luck

      • Otherwise can try with s23U or chromecast with google tv via usbc hub

      • Duh, just realised that xbox controller pairs with s23U and works with some games.

Wonder if i can get it to pair with chromecast google tv

    • So does this controller have a usb c port? If so then that is great as it means you am a connect an s23 directly with the supplied Samsung charging cable into the controller.

  • Any recommendations for usba-usbc cable?

My laptop only has the small port USBC, and my external 4tb is a USBA

    • +1

just get a usbc to a adapter

    • Are you sure you have those letters around the right way?

You mean a USB 3 micro on the hard drive right? The weird long one with the notch?

Anker cables on Amazon, a couple dollars more expensive than the cheapest you will find but good quality.
Otherwise Baseus and Ugreen are good Chinese brands

    • Assuming the cable on your external drive is replaceable, you would be better off with a USB-C to USB-Micro B cable and not have to use any dongles or adaptors.

      • Do they make them? Never seen one?

I think I'd rather just buy a C to A adapter and then can reuse for other A devices

Perfect for Motorola Ready For. Thanks!

  • Can someone explain the usage for these cables?

Many newer laptops don't have HDMI ports, but can output video via their USB-C ports (e.g. Macbook Air). This cable allows you to connect such a laptop to a display such as a TV without using an adapter.

    • My Google Pixel 7 Pro can only screen cast to a Google TV… My generic TV doesn't have that, so I guess this would work. So annoying.

  • Would the USB-C - HDMI cable mean I can plug my switch into any tv? Without the docking station?

  • Wouldnt one of those usb c hubs with 4k port for $26~ be more versatile than this with same functionality? Apart from being cheaper I guess

  • Would something like this cable work for connecting a Samsung S22 Ultra phone to monitor or tv?

  • My controller and gaming kb are ready for pickup

  • +1

Just picked up three of the controllers, thought they had proper analogue triggers but they're just switches it seems. Kinda sucks for any games that would require that so just be aware.

    • -1

So should i ask for a refund. Still have not picked up

      • i dont mind it tbh

        its a shitty cheapo controller

there's no games on switch or pc that i play that requires analog triggers so…

what i dont like is it has the nintendo button pattern which takes some getting used to

  • Is this HDMI 2.1?

  • any buyers confirm the cable resolution and refresh rate?
