So they renamed the Burger Combo Deluxe and knocked $2 off the price. Genius.

    • +3

Pretty much, wasn't happy with the price increase to Burger Combo Deluxe so glad they've brought it down again.

      • +6

Yeah same but I've still been buying it tbh. The old price was $7.45 I think.

  • +9

Since the burger itself is about that price, I think it's a great deal

  • I have it last week, seem still there.

  • my only complaint is that this is an app offer only and you can’t place an order after 6pm (something like that?) via app so you can’t use it on Thu.

    • +7

Stores will stop taking app orders 30 mins to an hour before store close. So if your store closes that 7pm that could be why.

I haven't seen any time restrictions on this deal.

      • -2

I think it wasn’t limited to 30 mins to an hr before the store is closed. Last time on Thu at around 6 I wanted to order this as dinner but the app didn’t allow me. Checked the operating hr of the store it was opened until 9pm on Thu.

So it’s more a hard coded restriction (until 6pm or something) instead of depending on store’s operating hours.

the limit is not about this deal. It’s about you can’t place an app/online order after 6pm which means you can’t use this deal as it’s app/ online only.

        • My local store also closes at 9pm and looking through my app order history, I have several orders between 6pm to 7pm.

        • +2

I guess the store can stop accepting online orders on a busy time. Same thing happened when I tried to order 9-piece. The store had too many orders coming in and the wait time was up to 1 hr every Tuesday night lol

          • @Bii: i think this is the reason. It was pretty busy on Thu night as you can imagine

  • +1

Good deal indeed, had it last week, combined with 2 sliders with 1 side, and 2-piece hot and crispy add on, all for under $19. A good variety lunch for two. Particularly with 3 sides we can have chips, gravy, and slaw.

    • +1

Wow thats spooky. I had that exact same combination of deals last weekend

      • What do you mean? You just replied to your own comment.

  • +9

I usually change the mash to chips and i dont know if its my store only but they just make it large lol.

    • +9

      2x reg equal 1x large

      • Oh has it always been reg? I thought they were small unless KFC only has reg and large lol.

        • +4

Small is that tiny paper bag.

          • +1

@donga100: That small paper bag shits me. You only get a few chips if the doofus packing your order drops half the chips on the way into the bag or box 🥲

    • +2

Good to know - my mash goes straight in the bin so will give this a go.

      • I got this for lunch and swapped it for just gravy (if mash is what you don't like)

        • +1

The gravy is beyond horrible - I love mash.

          • +15

            @Hinee:

my mash goes straight in the bin

            I love mash

            <confused_face.png>

            • +1

@CodeXD: I've only ever been given combined mash & gravy - if only a mash option exists I'd just take that but I've never really thought to ask tbh.

              • @Hinee: Ah I see what you mean now. There is no option for only potato mash and no gravy.

                • +1

@CodeXD: Sometimes the potato and mesh become very dry, I think without gravy it will go hard in no time. Explains why without gravy is not an option.

            • +3

              @CodeXD: Maybe bin = mouth.

          • @Hinee: It's not bad, but it doesn't compare to gravy made in the same roaster as the meat and veges on roast night. It's several orders of magnitude better than boarding school gravy. I was a day boy, but sometimes had to suffer the non-delights of the school kitchen. It needed to be circumcised, and that's how it came out of the kitchen! The boarders ended up chipping in for a mohel (OK, that's not true).

      • Ive always swapped shit around in my orders, I hope this isn't a new discovery for you heh, can also swap the sides in box combos (ie one original piece for 3 wicked wings or a small popcorn chicken).

    • +6

I always do this, most stores will just give you a large unless you ask them for 2 regulars. I find you end up with more chips with 2 regulars vs the 1 large.

      • how did you reach conclusion ?

        • Well. I've gotten both given to me many times and normally 2 regulars > 1 large.

It's the way they fill em.

    • I usually change it to gravy so I can drink the gravy:)

    • +1

Yep. 2 reg chips = 1 large. You can ask for the swap. You can also swap the potato and gravy for coleslaw or chocolate mousse.

    • The size of a large KFC chips has reduced in the past year or so. It used to be a genuinely big box, now it's been slimlined.

Prices are staying down relative to McD, but it's thanks to shrinkflation

  • +2

The chicken 'patty' is very thin. Not satisfying at all

    • +1

Had this meal yesterady. It used to be 2.5 cm thinkness now its like 1.5 cm

  • +1

I got told their dropping receipt survey by the end of the year.

    • noooo

      you mean the survey redemption?

      • Yeap

    • They already dropped the chips, now the drink….

      There'll be no point anymore

  • +18

For me, it's the Zinger burger. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra Zinger sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for Zinger sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly KFC worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local KFC restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large Krusher with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in Zinger sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

    • +1

Whats zinger sauce? Supercharged sauce? And you still get Krushers at your local?!

    • +8

You dying hard 'n' fast. Live your best life, King!

    • +8

      Isn't this from some greentext?

      • +2

Of course it has to be. Krusher has been unavailable for years…

  • +4

Probably discussed in other KFC threads but looks like they closed the loophole of "adding a meal, adding the add-on, then remove meal and keep add-on".
Dang no more 4 pieces for $7 odd.

    • +1

Yep, I was sad when the 2 x large sides hack I posted stopped working :(

Hopefully someone can find another loophole for it!

      • +1

        Someone did find a loophole:

        • Switch your location to a Queensland store.
        • Add whatever to get the 4 piece option.
        • Change those 4 pieces to HnS.
        • Remove the meal - because you changed the pieces to HnS, they will stay in your cart.
        • Change location back to your local store.
        • Switch the pieces back to OR.
        • It will still remove the add-on even if you customise it. I've tested it myself.

          • @CodeXD: Weird, I did it on Father's Day and had no issue. Don't tell me there was a new update since then…

            • +3

@smartazz104: Yep I was succesful with the hack on Tuesday last week (post fathers day) but no luck when I tried yesterday so been fixed sometime between then.

            • +1

@smartazz104: Just tested it, doesn't work anymore - gipped!

  • It was worth making a second account, I get nothing on the original anymore, but these usually appear on the new one.

    • I think this is not a targeted deal. You can order as many times as you like for the period.

      • I have two installs of the app, one has the deal and the long-term old account which I have bought many deals on, no longer gets any.

I think they have a cut-off for accounts overall.

        • Maybe check the "everyday online deals" menu. It should be there.

  • +1

There was a better deal I used last week, $8.95 for a zinger burger, a double tender burger, a small chip and a drink. Not sure about expiry date, maybe still exist in some accounts?

  • +4

ngl but kfc burger got smaller again

  • +1

Have they changed the P&G? I got only watery gravy without any potato on my order.

    • +1

They also have gravy on its own.

The lid will say "Potato and Gravy" or "Gravy".

  • hell yea

  • +1

Any reason why KFC stopped promoting wraps? Once upon a time you can swap burger for wrap, but that option is quite limited now.

    • I've been able to do it by ordering online while at the counter and asking the staff nicely to change order to a wrap instead.

  • $7.95 seems right for this. I don't know what it's like in other KFC's around Australia, but here in SA they've changed the fillets to "crispy". A plus is they're actually a decent, bigger piece, but a major downside is they lack that original recipe taste. They're more like a giant, more meaty crispy strip but with the coating/breading flaking off.

  • +2

KFC still ahead of the game when it comes to menu pricing. Aside from the odd HJ/MCD app special KFC is the only place I really get my grease fill these days.

  • What are the ingredients of the gravy?

  • +5

I never see the fanfare for kfc burgers, it’s always two stale buns with a small piece of chicken and barely any mayo and lettuce. Seriously underwhelming, yet ozbargain seems to go nuts for it

    • MAKE SURVEY COMPLAINT SO THEY CAN GET THEY SHIT TOGETHA

    • That’s because the user base doesn’t quite consist of health conscious fitness fanatics. They look for cheap and convenient options. I mean, have a look at my comment below, I get down voted for trying to give health advice. YOLO is their motto, just not for very long.

  • Preferred Burgers?

Honestly like the double tenders they seem to be juicier compared to the other dried fillets.

    • I used to always go for Zingers but I've started going for original recipe in recent years. Just wanted a change I guess.

    • +1

      KENTUCKY BURGER. RIP

    • Had the double tender last night, was like a slider burger, not worth $2 imo

      • not worth $2 I mean that's a bit harsh but okay. It has the most calories out of all of them by far for what it's worth.

  • +3

I ate this last week, the size of the fillet was laughable. It’s about a third of the thickness of what’s in the photo.

    • -2

      Literally this, it’s very deceiving.
Not trying to be that guy but I will anyway.
This meal equates to 762 calories assuming people choose Pepsi Max which they probably won’t. How long will it keep them full for? 4-6 hours at best. With this amount of calories, they’re better off getting a ground beef burrito from GYG (for example, there are obviously much better alternatives) and be fuller for way longer.

  • -4

WHY THE NEW APP STILL SO CLUTTERED AND TRASHY
    ?
DESKTOP VERSION WAY EASIER TO NAVIGATE

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

  • -7

I don't get how this is worth $7+. It should be $5.
Everything is order in bulk so it brings their prices heaps down.. it'll cost them:
    Drink=50¢
Chips=20-30¢ depending how much the give you.
Gravy= 20-50¢ if it's small or large gravy
    Burger ~ $2

Total mean probably costs them ~ $3.50 plus wages and store operations will bring it to about $5 for that meal.

    They're making money from this.

    • +7

Insane that a company would want to make profit, absolutely insane.

    • +4

Buy it or pay $30 in ingredients yourself and spend 3 hours making it.

  • +2

You can DIY the Fiery Zinger burger with this deal too, which u could not do back when it first released. (Chilli Relish sauce)

  • Im still seeing this in my app
