Geez don't even have the normal Whoppers anymore? Thanks Albo…

    • Regular whoppers might be on the other side of the coupons that are linked to the deal now.

There are deals on that other side too.

      • +18

I remember when 2 Whoppers were $5.99 on these vouchers, now you need a high paying job to eat fast food.

        • +4

Yeah, my teenage kids remember when flights to LA were 40% cheaper.

Really wish my salary went up 40% too.

        • +3

Or a second job at HJ's

        • +1

Unfortunately I remember when they were $2!! =P

      • On the other side it's 2xChicken Royale for $5. That's app reward voucher

        • How are you seeing the other side?

        • +1

Can you tell me how to see the other side please

      • I can't see it?

    • +2

It seems everyone has forgotten that it's wasn't gonna be easy under Albanese, it was only a matter of time for Hungry Jacks whoppers

    • -2

      I hate Albanese.

But what control does Albo have on HJs discount vouchers?

      • +2

It's a play on the "Thanks Obama" meme

  • My local HJ stores won’t except these. They keep telling me they can only do app offers. Has anyone else had this problem?

    • +12

      Phone is fine.

    • The only problem I had was with my coffee loyalty card. They owe me a free one and said they can only do it through the app. Sadly, I still carry the card around just in case

    • +7

Probably better that they don't! I've cut out HJs and most fast food since the price went up to levels similar to restaurants.

      • +7

Yes, the price of ingredients has come back down. Now it's just price gouging/profiteering.

          • +6

@Proscott: Tell me you have a hollow stone where a brain should be without actually telling me

          • +6

@Proscott: @Proscott: Mate, HJs don't give a shit about your culture wars. They're in it to make money, and vegan money is as good to them as yours is. If they thought they could make a bigger profit by not selling any real meat again then they'd do it in a heartbeat no matter how you felt about it.

"Green tape" isn't driving prices up. They're just charging more because they can get away with it, and people like you blaming some made up adversary rather than the company's greed just makes that even easier for them.

            • -5

@krogoth: Stop bashing HJ for being 'greedy'. They're a corporation. Their primary mission is to maximise shareholder value - which shareholders are often us through our superannuation.

If you don't HJ food represents good value for money, go elsewhere. Salvation Army kitchens might be a good place to start.

              • -1

@john71: I didn't say that they're worse than any other publicly traded company or that people shouldn't eat there. Only that I think it's pretty foolish to blame vegans for why prices have remained up when the only reason is exactly as you say: their only goal is to maximise profits. And being motivated entirely by money is pretty much the definition of greed, isn't it?

Most super funds are going to invest in a wide variety of financial instruments, and so they'll track the overall health of the market. People spending more at HJs will have less disposable income to spend elsewhere, and so it's not going to have any influence on the market one way or another. Your super will be no different than if HJs they'd kept their prices down unless for some bizarre reason a disproportionate amount of it is invested in the company that owns HJs.

                • @krogoth: The primary goal of a corporation is to make money. People do not knowingly invest in corporations whose aim is to lose money.

I, like most other Australians, want my superannuation to perform as stronglyl as possible. That's why my fund invests in profit-seeking corporations.

This isn't exactly PhD-level stuff, you know.

Good luck convincing corporations and private equity firms to become charities.

              • @john71: The sound of vested interests breaks the morning air with a moving tribute for the ages.

        • +1

How do you define and detect 'price-gouging'? Are HJ's profit margins exceptionally high? Do they lack competition?

          • +1

            @john71: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Price_gouging

Price gouging is the practice of increasing the prices of goods, services, or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable

            .

Are HJ's profit margins exceptionally high?

            Yes.

            Do they lack competition?

            Irrelevant.

            • -1

@M00Cow: What makes you qualified to judge whether the price of a Whopper is 'reasonable' or not? What public data lead you to conclude that HJ's profit margins are 'exceptionally high'?

HJ is engaged in purveying lukewarm, low-quality fast food. As such, it has many competitors. All of those competitors charge roughly comparable prices, suggesting that HJ's prices are market appropriate.

What special information or abilities do you enjoy that allow you to make such sweeping, ostensibly nonsensical statements?

              • @john71:

What makes you qualified to judge whether the price of a Whopper is 'reasonable' or not?

Me, I've decided I'm qualified. I've also decided you're a contrarian bot. So I win!

                • @M00Cow: I just like to point out instances of arrant nonsense.

Your point about vegan products was accurate and incisive. Unfortunately you then undermined it with an empty -headed rant against corporate greed.

                  • @john71: Silly bot, I didn't make any comments about Vegan products.

And you said corporate greed, not me. Tell your owner they need to learn programming, not just kiddie script someone elses.

    • Same, they asked for the actual coupon

  • +6

LOL another increase on the two Whopper Jr + chips one…

Was a fan fave of Ozbargainers but damn… Them inflation πŸ“ˆπŸ“ˆ

    • +3

Was just thinking the same. Less than 6 months ago right? For the Jnr, chips and drink for $5? And you didn't need to bring in a friggin physical voucher for it….

    • Ouch, they started at $4.95 (or something like that)

  • +5

NGL These should be the everyday prices.

    • +12

No, everyday prices should be lower!

  • Sorry new here, how does one get these vouchers?
edit: can i just print it out?

    • +1

      Phone is fine.

    • Nice try.

      edit: Phone is fine.

  • +1

    useless..

  • +1

Its clear they hate these vouchers with yet another removal of an item.

The App has much better value these days as you can just make multiple orders and they don't mind but you are stuck with whatever offer they have at the moment which ruins it for me because the main reason I go to HJ's is for the bacon deluxe.

    • +2

It's clear right away once an app is published, the company is going to prefer the app, because of all the possibilities it offers - from tracking your location and actions, through better control of the offers, to nagging you with notifications.

    • +5

Same here. Bacon deluxe was my fav but have been settling for the whopper deals since they removed it permanently. Indicates they didnt make enough money on it to keep it there.
Then they dropped the voucher from their website which is an indication they are phasing the paper vouchers out.
Now the whoppers are gone from it.

These "deals" are garbage. Seriously who buys their vegan whopper?

Give it a few months and the paper vouchers will be gone entirely.

    • +2

      Wtb 2x bacon deluxe's voucher!!

    • They removed the vouchers for about 6 months a few years ago and received tremendous backlash. Since the return the vouchers have gone downhill

  • +6

Prices up again what a joke it is now .

  • +2

The medium iced coffee with free pearls is actually cheaper on the app at $3 heh

  • +5

Couldn't even whack a regular whopper on there.

  • +4

why don't they just put these in the app?

  • hello. couldn't shake anything else 'FREE' only soft serve cone from app since at least couple of months here. not even frozen drink. anyone have different experience?

    • Free brekky rolls and hash browns still available before 11am. Only had free soft serve in the arvo. Did shake free brekky rolls two days in a row though.

    • -1

Same, always free soft serve. And that's with 10+ accounts

    • +2

get a free soft serve probably once a week for the past few weeks

  • +2

No more 2x bacon deluxe burgers deal anymore, I think few years back was for $7.95 πŸ‘‰πŸ€•πŸ‘ˆ

  • So they have small whopper plant based meal for $7.95 but no whopper meat small meal …. how much can it cost to swap the pattie with meat …. HJ really don't like the idea of a cheap small whopper meal. burger chips drink.

  • +3

The large onion rings voucher is only a 5c saving! HJ’s are surely taking the piss with paper vouchers now!

    • Large battered onion rings showing as $5.75 on my app in ACT

      • Ah ok so depending where you live there may be bigger savings, they are $5 at my local.

  • -1

Ee, I remember when you used to get 35 Whoppers for $2.59. And they were bigger! Inflation? Conspiracy! Adrenochrome Burgers from Maccas, that's the way to go.

  • Hungry Jacks Season is over for me now.

Wed lunch with my daughter was the free Whopper (every time the Crows/ Westcoast kicked a 50m+ goal- and that's default for Tex) + plus use a survey code for the free chips and drink, and then the $2.50 whopper junior on the app (or a decent shake n win offer).

Any other way to get the Free whopper now the Crows (robbed) and Eagles are out? (other than the Birthday freebie…got 2 that day!)

  • +3

Everyone keeps saying inflation. Let call it for what it really is. Daylight robbery.

    • +5

I know my solution isn't good, but I just stopped going. They can charge $100 for a burger if they want, but if I don't go, they get $0.

      • +2

I've applied the same philosophy to McDonald's. The food and the overall experience turned me off forever. Deleted the damn app. Even a $1 big Mac won't get me back.

I've kept the KFC app though. Just in case I get a $1 zinger :)

  • +1

Grilled Chicken is back! Yasss! And they reduced the price on it, love to see it!

    • +1

I think that's the only offer on there I might use.

  • Sorry for the newbie question but does this work? Do i show this pic on my phone for the discount or do i actually have to print it out?

    • +1

      Phone is fine!

  • +4

2x Bacon Deluxe for $8 were the glory days… oh how I miss you

    • Same here surely missed only reason why i went to Hungry Jacks 😫

  • +1

Showing them on my phone used to work but past couple of times I've tried they've said they can't accept it without the physical print out.

  • +1

2 x JW and 2 x SM chips was 8.95 and now 9.95! Like an absolute joke as to how they keep on increasing the prices.

    • +1

ive boycotted them. just sticking to other places/cutting down fast food.

  • +2

They should just stop doing vouchers completely at this stage

  • Local store denied me because I didn't have the paper vouchers

    • don't be sad bby

      • :((

  • Thanks for uploading Scomas, as they're not listed on their website.
Appreciate it for my parents who don't have mobile phone and those environment unfriendly stores.

  • +1

Phone is not fine at Cannington πŸ™

  • Phone is not fine at Fountain Gate VIC food court HJs! Are they from the past?

  • There used to be a pdf on the website that I cant find anymore,

    Can anyone help?:D

  • +1

ridiculous, rip off, price gouging now.

  • Wow the vouchers have reached the lowest low bottom of πŸ’©ines it can reach, absolutely pathetic. RIP HJ already, just let it go.

  • looks like shake app just recently updated prizes on shakes. i tried over many times past days but can't score any decent value or free items anymore.

hj like even shake app has little value now…

anyone tried late. score any good items or freebies?
