Bought one for $199 from Dreame official store recently. Touch better than Roborock S5.

Yeah im annoyed I missed it, but 199$ is like crazy pricing in Australia. I doubt you will ever see a lidar robot be 200$ in Australia for a while.

      • what is lidar?

        • uses light sensors to map out the area, means that its a true map of the place not a "guess" based on bumping into things etc.

          • @Jofzar: Also generally better than the camera based mapping options as it works better in low-light.

I got the $199 one, super happy with it so far!

It's my first robo vac and she's doing her best <3

  • Got it for $199 ..Thanks Ozb

  • robot can go up and down the stairs?

How is this compared with "ECOVACS DEEBOT N8 Pro" for $450?

    • 100$ cheaper, better suction (theoretically, it's all kind of fake how they measure it), the n8 pro has a dock you can buy instead of you want it in the future.

      • You meant for $350 this Dreame D9 Max is much better than "ECOVACS DEEBOT N8 Pro" for $450?

        • IMO they are realistically around the same, You would have to have someone review head to head to find out. Marketing/faking of suction power is pretty common, it depends on how and where you measure it.

My reading online was a whole heap of issues with the deebot n8 pro, and with it being 100$ more I couldnt see a single reason to go for it (other than the dock as a future upgrade) compared to the d9.

My thought was if i'm going to go for a dock I might aswell go for something like the s7+ which also has raising mop/a real mop and spend alot more.

Just a heads up that CamelCamelCamel is showing that it retailed for $399 until September 5th when the price went up to $699. The coupon takes it back down to $350, but that's not a huge saving compared to where the price was 10 days ago.

    • Yep, it's still a great deal at 400$ for a lidar based robot, tbh at 400$ there ain't much choice.

      • Yeah Im tossing up between this and the Roborock S7 refurb for $500 over at https://reebelo.com.au/products/roborock-s-7-robot-vacuum-cl…

        • -1

Given the short lifespan of these things, getting a refurb is risky hey

          • @onlinepred: short life span of what?(refurbs or robot vacuums in general?) I have a Roborock S6 coming up to 4 years old and it has never skipped a beat. Have only replaced the roller brush once and perform the recommended maintenance on it. Use it pretty much every second day to vacuum typical 4x2 house, with some rooms carpeted and we have dog who sheds a lot of hair. Its been best home appliance purchase.

          • @onlinepred: My OG Xiaomi vac is still going strong after I purchased it back in 2017. Not sure what you are talking about.

  • Does this support multifloor mapping?

    • You can have 3 floor maps saved

    • It was $151 cheaper, not $50?

      • Ah. I thought it was 299

  • Had mine since the start of the year. Has the odd occasion where it can't self position and decides to do a full cleanup instead of scheduled room cleanup, and loses it's map for no reason every now and then (though hasn't for a while…).

But all in all it's been great, and our floors have never been so consistently clean. With 2 dogs and 2 kids running around it was hard to keep on top of without it.

Mopping feature is not great, just kind of drags a damp rag around. but better than nothing I guess.

    • How does it go going from floor to rug?

      • +1

Haven't had any issues going over rugs from hardwood (and you can set it as a no-mop zone in the app). Even goes up a decent 10-15mm step up to the toilet, can't quite get up the higher lip to the bathroom. I've been meaning to print out a little ramp for that…

        • Lol. Thanks. Sold out so will wait again.

  • I am ok with the D9 bought from the recent $199 deal but gosh their App is a shamble …. and since I got it their latest App update made it even worse. You used to be able to change the cleaning settings while it is working (i.e. switch up or down the sucking power level), they took that away?! I'd say my original Xiaomi App interface and functionalities are way better even that was like 5-7 years ago.

    • I just use it through the Xiaomi Home app. I have to say, I do with it had better integration with Home Assistant. My experience with the 3rd party integration isn't amazing.

      • Did you buy your D9 Max recently? I boughty mine in the $199 deal but couldn't get it working with the Xiaomi Home app, just the Dreame app. Xiaomi Home can't add it as it seems to be looking for a differently named wifi SID. I'm assuming the bot's a slightly newer model variant/firmware and the app hasn't yet got the update.

        • Got it back in January. Firmware is 3.5.8_1004 which it says is the latest.

    • You used to be able to change the cleaning settings while it is working (i.e. switch up or down the sucking power level), they took that away?

I thought I was going crazy as I wasn't able to find this setting in the last 2-3 days… that is so stupid from dreame as it was really handy to increase the suction midway cleaning

  • I've had the original D9 for almost 3 years, and it's still going strong. Doing a vacuum as I type.

  • +2

waiting here, patiently, for another guy that got it from previous, cheaper deal

    • I didn't get the $199 deal, it lasted all of 5minutes. Hope that makes you feel better :)

      • I was feeling great to start with.
Thanks for the cheer up anyway.
        I’ll keep on waiting then

  • jeez I missed it again! really need one as we're moving into a new place and most of the house is carpeted.

  • Been using it for over a week (from $199 deal) and it has been a god send to me. I am obsessed in keeping my place clean but that obsession (vacuuming and mopping) each day was very tiring (and time consuming) for me.

Not any more though as I see this little guy going from one corner to another while I am out and about or putting kids to sleep. I agree that the Mop function is not the best but it is still better than doing it manually tbh.

For those looking to buy a Lidar enabled Robot, I will highly recommend this one if you can grab it for less than $300.

  • The best dreame feature hands down is support for valetudo. https://valetudo.cloud/pages/general/supported-robots.html

    • can you explain in simple terms what that really means and what functionality we may be able to gain by upgrading the firmware via Valetudo?

      • You won't really gain any features. But it will remove the dependency on the cloud so you can block its internet access.

    • +1

Agree, but this MAX version of the D9 doesn't appear to be supported.

  • What's the coupon code?

  • Purchased this for 350 on ebay last week - missed the $199 deal, but I must admit such a great product.

  • how available are spare parts/ batteries?

    • Spare parts are very available on AliExpress.
Haven't looked for batteries, but probably the same, though likely a harder replacement.

    • ebay/ali express; Note they are also compatible with Xiaomi D9 Max

  • Any comparison review or comment on this Vs Lubluelu SL60D?
