  • which are the more premium cruise companies?

    • +2

      Celebrity most Premium
      Royal Carribean Premium Family

      • Where would Princess rank?

        • Above P&O.

Because P&O are at the bottom!

          • @lainey13: Oof. So second from the bottom? There don't seem to be many good cruise options originating from Melbourne…?

(Apologies, I'm a total cruise newb)

@itsfree: Virgin are starting in a few months, they are considered premium but quite a different offering from other cruise lines. Yes unfortunately the harbor and lack of numbers, distance etc make Melbourne a secondary port market compared to Syd and Bris.

              • @lainey13: Ah interesting – what's different about Virgin?

  • It says theres no more left at this price😔

    • +1

Price has gone up to $760 still a good deal

I don't even know 3 other people, and going alone makes this not a deal. Going to downvote this for being lonely.

  • Can you book the 4 pax room now and provide/update passenger details at no charge later?

  • Sounds like this is going to be the ozbargained cruise

      Do they have KFC onboard?

And will my app work out at sea?

      • We could setup a single account to a travel router and use all use wifi in the pool area.

  • any cruise within school holidays and not in winter?

  • Can a couple with 8 year old kid buy this?

    • yes! your 8 year old will have so much fun.

  • Singapore is too fecking hot!

  • visa maybe required

    • Not required if you are on a cruise and staying less than 90 days

  • i was lucky enough to get this for deal for 250$pp due to gambling on a ship last time i went on one, couldn't miss it for that price, maybe this be ozbarginers cruise.

    • How much did you gamble?

  • Wonder what the quality is like? The cost for 14 days just a bit more than the one day cost of this one. https://www.smh.com.au/world/europe/luxury-cruise-ship-with-…

COVID probability probably similar (or higher if more cramped), though.

  • Don't forget, Aussie kids return to school that week so shouldn't be many families planning to board this ship.

  • Silly question may be but does any Cruise company offer a return trip back to home (to avoid booking return airfare) for 7 or less days trip ?

  • +1

Thanks Dealbot, didnt book this cruise but booked one for April 11th 2024 school holidays 10 nights for $3,530 ($88.2 pp per day is very good)

Yep we'll slum it in quad share… did a 9 night P&O cruise on Pacific Adventure earlier this year and splurged on a mini suite for 2 adults, 2 kids and in hindsight it seemed a little overkill but we'll see :/

I dont think i would so another P&O cruise to the south pacific, Noumea, Lifu are really not great (the comedian on the ship accurately said, how about Noumea - the Mount Duritt of the south pacific). Mystery island is a mystery if you actually get to go as tender boats are often cancelled to to the seas

    • We are booked on the same cruise but payed $3370

      • Yeah i saw that price and the wife was umming and ahhing for a day so missed out on that lower price… still a pretty good deal :) Might bump into you on board :p

        • What ages are your kids? Looking to get rid of mine for a few days & wanting them to make some friends 😆

          • @Capricorn: Boy will be 9 at that stage and the girl 6. Will be making use of the kids club thats for sure.
