  • is Maxtor reliable? Would be fuming if I lost 1 TB of data. Not trying to say its not good but just wondering?

    • not as reliable as other brand.

    • They have the lowest reputation by brand.

  • Might want to specify which Domayne you bought this from.

If this wasn't an advertised offer, the price might only be valid at the store you bought it at.

  • as far as i know, maxtor in this business for very long time, as i can remember since im in highschool, around 15 years ago.so i am pretty sure maxtor is a good brand compare to others like seagate,WD, and much better compare to new coming brand like samsung, etc…

    • you're right about maxtor was being in the business for quite some time. Their sub-par products, high failure and high returns were so high at that time that they were no longer sustainable in business and went bankrupt. Seagate them bought them and re-branded their leftover stock as Seagate.

  • maxtor, throw that shit out.
for some time i had issues with an old computer of mine and never knew why it had problems starting up.

it'd hang on bootup, reboot infinitely after the ram was checked, pause for about 30 seconds just as windows logged in, and about 10% of the time the hdd didnt even detect.

when it worked, it worked fine.

also, maxtor have a pretty high failure rate (close to or on par with the samsung drives) so i'd steer clear of these.

    edit
crap, how do i unvote? clicked the wrong button =\

  • I bought it from Belrose Domayne. The item comes with 3 years warranty.
