    We have a few sims like that but I actually don’t pay anything. Occasionally 10-20 cents for the month as a sms to keep it active.

    Optus was even better - had multiple data share sims for free, still going

  That's 5.55 hours calls or 333 sms's worth on the PAYG. If you used that as your main number you'd have to be pretty frugal to have it last a year. No 5G, but Esim is available.

  Is that better than the Woolies $170 for 125Gb plan that gives 10% off a month from your Woolies shop? Spend $142 a month in one grocery shop to cover the cost of that (or $131 if you get the Cashrewards). Even a single person could probably do that.

  You could use any cheap deals (like the Boost ones) as a second sim (if your phone can) for data or calls that don't need to be from your main number or that could be long wait queues.
