Needs eligible service and account. Credit applied by 2nd mth. Ends 12 Oct unless extended.

You trade in an iPhone 15 and you only get $350? Doesn't sound like much of a deal.

    • Yeah, the OP didn't proof-read their post.

      And also forgot this:

Includes bonus $350 credit when you purchase and trade in an eligible phone. Check your trade-in value.
Based on iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB in good working order. Trade-in powered by Kingfisher. Needs eligible service and account. Credit applied by 2nd mth. Ends 12 Oct unless extended.

I'm pretty sure an "iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB in good working order" is worth way more than $350.

      • Isn't it $350 on top of the offered amount?

        • You are right. Confusing deal.

    • +4

On behalf of Op I’m happy to offer $400 cash for any iPhone 15 trade in.

Was excited until it reads “have a post-paid plan with us”…

Is anyone able to confirm if its $350 on top of whats quoted. I have a 256gb 14 pro max so is it $1100 plus $350

    • The way they word it makes it seriously sound like it is already included.

      • And it says 'up to' $1,250, so my iphone 14 pro max gets $1,100, but then this means i cant get full $350 ontop (only $150?)…

Also having to return my phone prior to getting the new one is painful…

        • Yer thats why i decided to not go for it.

The terms aren't 100% Clear and the wait for an Iphone 15 from Telstra is like 4 weeks + so if you wait and don't trade it in they may cancel the bonus.

  • Pretty sure it's an extra $350 on any phone in the link.
So iPhone 7 will give you $400 off

  • +2

Confirmed in store it is on top of trade in value

  • We have to add a plan or have an exisiting mobile service? is that right?

  • Can't seem to add the phone only on a payment plan. So it seems either have to pay a month of service charges or buy the phone outright and consume the credit over many months.

Also, is Apple the only place to trade-in that allows you to get the new phone first before the trade-in period starts? With Telstra and JB, it seems I would need another phone to use in the mean time since the trade-in windows begins immediately and is only 7 or 14 days.

  • This is rigged.
I checked my phone couple weeks ago and they said they will give me 1250 for it.
Checked after the bonus credit. Still 1250

    • So you’d be getting a total of $1250
Bonus $250 is ontop of that figure

      • Its confusingly worded though, makes it sound like $1,250 is the max value for phone provided, so newer phones are worse off as cant get full $350, but older phone (13 per example) get full amount to bring it up so is better value.

  • Is there a way to receive $350 bonus off when purchasing outright ?
I already have a current plan with Telstra so the option is there to pay outright

  • Now the ball is in your court JB

For those needing a Telstra month to month plan for work/tax claim purposes, this could be a better offer than Officeworks $250 bonus offer? Both trade-ins for iPhone 13 Pro 128 gb are at $800, but Telstra credit can be used against bills (rather than a OfficeWorks GC) plus you get to pay off the iPhone in interest free monthly instalments rather than commit to entire amount upfront leaving the possibility of an early upgrade next year open too. Also, if you sign up for their $75 month plan, they have an additional $20/month off taking the min out of pocket to $350 credit + $iPhone costs - $trade in credit.

    • correct, plus once the credit is in account you can cancel the contract and use to offset the price of the phone

    • Says you need to pay for the phone outright if you cancel the plan early though.

  • Hey you give me your iPhone 14 or even 13 or 12 I give you $351! Lol

  • this offer is on top of trade in value not just $350

  • The requirement to subscribe to a new plan (potentially for 2 months for the credit to be applied) AND the requirement to trade in the existing phone before the new phone arrives, renders this deal unattractive to me.

    • That is what my friend was asking me when she saw this deal, it is very unusual trade in process.

When i trade in for Samsung, I choose a custom color so have to wait over a month but they apply the credit straight away…….

All other tradin from JB, TGG Optus and Vodafone are runs on the same way. So yes the way Telstra does it really sucks.

  • Can't figure out a way to make this happen while on a JB-HiFi plan.. might see if the crew instore can do anything for me.

    • +1

I’m with them now, I’m also on JB plan from 2019. They said you won’t be able to get the credit applied, needs to be Telstra plan

      • Blast. Keep me posted if you find a deal/scheme worth exploring..

Right now perhaps OW is the best option.. not keen on a gift card though.

        • No bonus at JB and they stopped taking preorders due to demand

          • @Bargearse: So they won't give the credit for Telstra connections with the jbhifi plan? When I spoke in the store today they mentioned that we just need to have a Telstra account.

  • How long can i have both devices at the same time to make sure all data has been transfered ?

    • They said 21 days from when you submit the king fisher return. Do it before the 3rd oct closing date then 21 days. My concern was the 15 may not arrive by then

      • Yeah same. Says end Oct 12 not 3rd so should do the quote on the last day (oct12) then you have 21 days is my understanding

  • Did anyone explore the shopback offer with vodafone?
    https://www.shopback.com.au/vodafone

Its mentioned as 66% cashback for Postpaid Plan with Phone

  • Its very difficult to asses a phones value which you dont have with kingfisher app.
I mean i know the value may differ depending on phone condition, however at least we should be able to see the max value for phones even for the ones we don't possess.

So far i have been able to check the below.
    Iphone 12 pro max 128GB upto $550
    Iphone 13 128GB upto $525
    Samsung Fold 4 256GB $750

If anyone was able to check the max value of their phones please let me know.

    Thanks

    • It has the maximum values on the trade-in page. https://www.telstra.com.au/trade-in

      • Iphone 12 pro max 128GB has a maximum trade-in value of $600
      • Iphone 13 128GB has a maximum trade-in value of $575
      • Samsung Fold 4 256GB has a maximum trade-in value of $750
  • Assuming you are already with Telstra on a post-paid plan, this is probably the best deal.

You get both of the following credited to your Telstra account:

    • trade-in value (e.g., up to $500 for iPhone 12 Pro 128gb)
    • $350

The trade-in values appear to be ~$50 less than what Apple gives you, but factoring in the $350 bonus it ends up being worth it.

  • seems half decent if what i've been told by live chat is true:

trade in old iphone 8 (for eg.) up to $75 back
triggers $350 trade in bonus (OP says Iphone 12 and up - so worth checking into - couldn't see anything on the Telstra website one way or the other)
Purchase (for eg.) iphone 15 basic model for $1499 outright less $425 = just over $1000 for the new 15 if you are into that sort of thing.
my kid wants one for his 18th, may be a cheap way of making it happen, am i missing something?

    • That's what I did, ended up trading in an iPhone 8 Plus. See if the $350 trade in bonus comes through, don't see any conditions that excludes any phones that can be traded in.

      • surprised this is getting more attention. let me know how it goes Poppin. Thx for the reply

  • Could someone check the trade-in price for Iphone 13 pro max 256GB? Thanks

    • +1

13 pro max 256 GB upto $800 plus $350 credit

  • +1

Don't waste time with Telstra, they are out of stock and just sell you nothing and keep you waiting for 1 month until their ship of new stock arrives!

    • exactly this. they cancelled my order without permission and offered no satisfactory resolution.

  • You have to have to 'completed' the trade in by 12/10/23.
They suggested I use an old phone in the interim!

    • YMMV but my order shipped the following day even though it was back ordered when I placed the order. 15 Pro Max 256GB NT. Many models are in stock currently as well.

      • I spoke to them on chat today and they said they weren't. But I'll wait till after the long weekend then see what's in stock

  • Does the trade in device has to be an iPhone to be eligible to get the bonus credit? i.e. Can we trade in say a Samsung and still get the bonus amount of $350?

    • Ok..think I answered my own question…any phone in the list.

  • Do we have to just trade in the old phone to get the additional $350 credit? Or do we need to also purchase an iPhone 15 to get the additional credit.
