    wow, i remember picking my C2 42 for $995.

aren't there new OLED monitors coming out that'll be better and cheaper than this?

    • Bing Lee right? Same was a busy day to try and find stock ahaha - Good times

Nah good guys eBay. Ordered in the morning, picked up that arvo

    • +2

True. And there's not much difference between these models. No idea why the C3 would cost 70%+ more than the C2

    • +2

Better - depends on what you value. The refresh rate at 120Hz of the C2/3 is lower than what you'd get from a purpose-built monitor and it lacks DisplayPort connectors. On the other hand, as a media consumption monitor I'd put LG's expertise way above Asus's or Alienwares in picture processing or HDR scaling.

I don't reckon you're going to find any OLED monitor cheaper than a 42 inch OLED TV though.

      • if I were looking for an OLED monitor today, I'd wait. OLED is becoming more and more popular with monitor manufacturers.

      • as a media consumption monitor I'd put LG's expertise way above Asus's or Alienwares in picture processing or HDR scaling.

Monitors don't need to do picture processing, nor are we helpless TV watchers who need our TVs to scale our media for us. The built in scaling in even a built-in a graphics adapter is fine, and those who want the best will use madVR or similar, which is free and better than any TV's upscaler.

    • aren't there new OLED monitors coming out that'll be better and cheaper than this?

Hello no, they'll cost 2-3x the price of what we got our C2 for. They'll never be better and cheaper than the C2 42" for sub $1000, that was a ripper of a bargain.

OLED monitors in particular are insanely expensive and not worth it at the moment. I don't expect the situation will improve much for a few years.
