Bonus $500 Trade-in Credit for Purchase of Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra @ Samsung

750

Saw this being discussed on page 15 of previous Samsung deal so thought it warrants its own post.

People are saying it currently does not work due to Samsung website issue, but it will be fixed later today.

Credit to u/supersour's Samsung deal

  • Trade-in via app, must have a non-zero value. Details If you don't have any phone to trade in, or even if you do but don't want to, you can pick earbuds/earphone to trade in for $1 on the Samsung trade up app. It will still get you the bonus $500.
  • 10% code via email: [email protected]
  • $100 voucher via same email, or online chat (Credit to u/closed)
  • $50 off code via newsletter sign up

Also try your luck with Cashrewards which has reportedly worked in the past.

Apply the codes in the following order:

Trade in -> 10% -> $100 -> $50

Double check the $50 is not getting removed after you click checkout. Make sure you are logged in and the account is the same email you used to get the $50 newsletter.

For trade-ins at Samsung Online: the total trade-in value cannot exceed the purchase price of your new product, the purchase price needs to be at least $1 (after any other discounts have been applied) and a charge equivalent to the estimated trade-in value of your devices(s) will be placed against your valid credit/debit card until we receive and complete our final assessment of your eligible device (after which the charge will be refunded). Trade-in credits (including excess credits for trade-ins at Samsung Stores), are not exchangeable, redeemable for cash or able to be used in subsequent transactions. You must pay any outstanding amounts for the purchase of accessories and/or other products not covered by the trade-in credit value and/or any other discounts that may be applied.

Read OP, it has all details

  • both the email and chat people are telling me the $100 voucher can only be given by the marketing team, and they can't provide themselves. any tips?

    • +2

try another chat agent. i just got the $100 via chat about 5-10 mins ago.
and make sure you use the chat box on the product page

      • that worked… thanks! go figure their processes….

      • also, I managed to get an additional watch 4 voucher of 35%, which worked on the same cart. total $715 with the s23 256gb and watch 4

      • me too , got from chat agent

    • You need to choose the options shopping and then get in touch through what's app.

Does this work with samsung education pricing?

  • Can anyone share IMEI/model number of any Samsung product that I can use to get discount code from Samsung rep

    • Tell them you are apple user and want to try Samsung…

    • Just tell them that you want to switch to Samsung S series because you like their camera and battery life a lot. They'll then begin to tell you what's great about those phones and hook you up with the code.

For those wondering how discount works:

    RRP - Discount
    Trade in Bonus
    Trade in value

Then apply codes in these orders:
    -Trade-in code
    - 10% off loyalty
    - $100 loyalty discount
    - $50 newsletter code

The actual math that goes behind is as follow when above code entry is applied:
    Discounted device price (rrp - $200) e.g.
$xx trade in value of device
    Subtotal = $$
    10% off code applies
    Then
    $300 trade in bonus
    $100 loyalty
    $50 newsletter

    • $500 trade in bonus :)

    my money saved, no buy,haha

  • Just wondering if we can have a friend ask for a referral code further adding 10% off?

  • Dont forget you can stack Nine Coupons with Samsung, they take months and months but Ive them pay out previously. Current offer is a H&M voucher, register first before Samsung checkout https://coupons.nine.com.au/samsung#voucher-au_22778243

  • Emailed the [email protected] address for the 10%, they asked if im doing trade-up or not to determine voucher, anybody have an insight on what to say? Obviously will be doing the trade up but will it affect the discount i could possibly get?

    • Say yes, there is another 15% off code that does not stack with trade up I believe.

  • How the trade in works, if i have bluetooth headphone and enter all details do i recieve a code?
it is asking for credit card details is it mandatory?

    • Yes just input all the details and you will get a code. The credit card is mandatory to get the code but they won't charge you unless you use the trade in code and don't send your device in

      • thank you so much

  • Is Samsung Care+ worth buying?

  • I emailed loyalty@samsung 24 hours ago but haven't received anything back. I also called their phone number and was told the 10% could only be given via the email. Any suggestions?

    • My email only managed to get me a phone call like 3 days after citing that they had a high volume of request due to the last promo.

The number that dialed me was 02 8293 5712 - maybe you could ask to speak to the Customer Retention team?

Also, for the same email for the 10% voucher - even though I emailed [email protected], all the reps replied with their email being [email protected]

This was the signature at the bottom of their reply. Maybe try this email instead?

      Kind Regards,

bought 256GB S23 for $628. good enough for me.

    • I emailed Friday mid-morning and got a reply email an hour later followed by a quick chat with the 10% code emailed to me, havent seen to many final prices posted here but i got down to $1373.20 for the 12gb/512gb after trading in a chinese pair of earbuds for $1.

      • -1

Curious why you didnt buy during the previous deal but went for this? Even if you didnt have the code for bonus trade in, the 12/512GB would have been $1152.48 with a free pair of buds2.

        • Wow way to rub it in huh

        • He snooze, he lose

        • Got jealous my partner got the new iPhone, thought the OnePlus 7T Pro could use an upgrade, wasnt in the market early this month.

EDIT: Cant spend my whole life on OzBargain haha

  • Thanks.
Placed an order for S23 Ultra 8+256 (1104.6$) yesterday. Still hard to let it go because if I had done it 4 days before, I could have saved 100$ + free earbuds.
What do you guys think ? Should I just cancel it and wait for next Prime Day sale in 10-11 October, or maybe November for Friday the 13th and Cyber Monday ?
Honestly no rush for me as my 3 years old Realme 6 could probably survive another years. However, I succumbed to that 200 MP camera advertisement and reviews. Besides, I also want to experience flagship smartphone at least once in my lifetime, haha.

    • +1

I doubt we'll ever see as cheap a deal as the previous with buds hack. The previous deal without the buds hack could be back without the need for a code so it would be $833 but it really is anyone guess as to what sales will happen later. It might never come back.

      • okay thanks mate!

  • How much time it took for delivery, i ordered friday and i can see now status update to Shipped.

    • They are really bad with deliveries. Some people are super quick, others not so lucky.

  • Was these two deals launched to overshadowed launch of iPhone 15?
Just trying to figure out which month has the best Samsung offers historically?

  • What are the consequences if I don't send my old phone to Asurion?

    • Should be detailed in the terms you agreed to. A couple of years back I 'traded in' my phone for $99 plus the bonus amount and then didn't sent my phone back. Ignored a few email reminders and then had my credit card charged $99 as expected. I still kept the trade in bonus discount. I've read there might be an extra $30 charge for not sending in the old device - check your comms.

  • Can anyone confirm which applies to the edu store:
Trade-in via app, must have a non-zero value. Details(samsung.com) If you don't have any phone to trade in, or even if you do but don't want to, you can pick earbuds/earphone to trade in for $1 on the Samsung trade up app. It will still get you the bonus $500.
10% code via email: [email protected]
$100 voucher via same email, or online chat (Credit to u/closed)
$50 off code via newsletter sign up

What's the app's name BTW, I can't find any from apple store.

  • Thanks, missed out on the other deal but $1100 isn't a bad price, will send in a S6 edge.

Wasn't actually that hard getting all the codes, hard part is processing the payment, so many hoops and verifications, took about 20 minutes..

  • Anyone knows when sending back the trade in phone to Samsung asurion, so I need to include the cable? Thanks

  • Does anyone happen to have an extra 10% loyalty code they could share please?

    • +1

send email to [email protected]. Tell them you are interested to upgrade your samsung phone.
      - If they wanted to call you just say you can't speak Eglish.
      - If they ask IMEI just randomly provide Samsung IMEI from google.
I tried to ask twice and they seem to provide the same code within the range of 30 days (the code expiration), which I already used for my purchase.

      • The code they give you is derived from the IMEI.

        • unlike a code based on email address (might fail if email doesn't match), what's the issue if its not their own IMEI ? Its not like the 10% will fail if the IMEI fails Asurion's eligibility checker.

          • @payton: When you asked twice, did you provide the same IMEI? That could explain the same code.

Newsletter code is derived from email address which is why you need to use the same email.

            • @CodeXD: Samsung disn't ask for IMEI when I called … just name, phone, email address.

Newsletter code is derived from email address which is why you need to use the same email.
The code they give you is derived from the IMEI.

Yep I get that, my Q was about what is stopping someone from just grabbing a Samsung IMEI off the web? Samsung might refuse if someone else had already used that IMEI (if they indeed keep records), but unlike a code based on email address, it won't fail (when you apply it in Samsung store) if the IMEI used isn't yours ?

        • Not sure about this. Initially they just gave me the 10% code without asking anything. Several days later I tried to ask a 10% code again, just to check. They asked IMEI, I provided googled IMEI, and they gave me the same code. I think they did not know if I already used the code? Even the sales representative from web chat keep giving me the same 100$ discount code.

Hi OP and all the lovely people who comment regularly, I have been using ozbargain for 5-6 years now mostly just for dominoes discount codes until i decided to check out Samsung forum yesterday, I just created my ozbargain account only to thank all of you for the money I saved today. I bought S23 ultra and trading in my iPhone 11 pro max 64gb, RRP was $1954, after every possible discount, my final price came to $879 along with a free USB type C to A connector. Thanks to you all. <3

    • +1

$500 trade bonus, $370 trade value for phone , $100 discount code from live chat, $50 code from signing up for newsletter, Code NEWTOSAMSUNG for the free USB connector, $50 cashback after signing up and paying with steppay with Commbank :D , thinking I might not send the device to asurion wonder how much will they charge extra apart from $370

      • did you miss the 10% off loyalty code?

        • yeah i did not read the whole sub properly bugger but anyways I am going to buy one more S23 ultra for wife, will definitely apply all codes in that one tomorrow , have emailed loyalty team lets see what reply i get

  • My live chat for loyalty discount, also emailed samsung yesterday as per above comments but no reply yet πŸ™

We do apologise but we do not have access to check or information how they can provide this discount as this is randomly provided.

    • still not getting any response?

    • Some people mentioned that emailing directly to [email protected] may work, because I also got my code from that email.

  • I have an S23 but would like to trade it in for the ultra should i just wait til s24U in feb/march next year? like couple months left.

    • I’m always down the for the upgrade. But I’m concerned that the new one is apparently is going back to flat edges. Which I’m not a fan of. I want to get off the iPhones 13pr max due to the sharp edges.

That bit of rounding makes it so much nicer to hold.

  • +2

Just posted a couple of 10% codes here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/803416

  • Can't seem to get the $100 code, they keep saying its a targeted email discount. Asked 3 different people on online chat and email.

    • They might have caught on that people were double dipping and giving that as an excuse

  • I think they'll bring new offer tomorrow to counter pixel 8 launch

    • You think? I've been umming and ahhing all day. Would love to keep my S20 but the battery has had it. $1k for a ultra seems like a decent deal

      • agreed, especially when you can trade 2$ Kmart bluetooth for 500$ trade value lol. Asurion may fix this in the future and become more strict about trade in bonus. but who knows…

        • Someone commented they sent in wired buds and still got approved

          • @8azinga: oops sorry, I meant 2$ Kmart wired earphone, that's what I sent to them, no single issue and phone still on my hand haha.

    • The deals got worse for S23 and S23+. The S23 Ultra still the same $500 trade in bonus but still no discount off RRP.
S23 no discount off RRP and only $150 trade in bonus
      S23+ $250 off RRP & $200 trade in bonus

  • Just used this. Downloaded the trade in app. Registered my old pair of Samsung galaxy buds for trade in. Got a trade in ID. Then got $500 off S23 ultra. Also 10% off for using the Samsung shop app for the first time and spoke to their chat support and got another $100 off voucher on the chat.

    Feels like a good deal…

    • is the 10% app code the same with 10% from loyalty ?
      or different and stackable ?

      • +1

        Different and stackable.

There is no actual code for 10% off app order, it applies automatically.

    • How much was your total at the end?

  • Anyone else not get asked by Asurion to send back the trade in item worth $1? Havent heard a thing and its been 4 weeks.

  • can i trade in kiosk and get same deal, and do i need to buy on the spot

  • +1

Thanks OP and all helpful comments.
    Got an S23 Ultra 512GB for ~$1190.

10% off first order on Samsung Shop app (no code required).
    $500 off trade-in bonus.
10% off email loyalty discount code.
    $100 off code from chat.
    $50 off newsletter discount code.

Ready to go travel and concerts!

    • When did you do this? It looks like the $50 discount for signing up to the newsletter is no longer being offered (can't see it anywhere on the website).

Am I doing something wrong, or has this disappeared?

      • Looks like it's gone

        • S23 Ultra 256gb stuck at $1,028 without the extra $50. No deal.

Will take my chances there will be a better offer coming soon.

          • @dubo1981: Hopefully im wrong but I suspect the best deals have past when a 256GB S23U went for under $590. The $500 trade bonus finished at midnight and is only $200 now.

      • +1

        Order date 31/10

  • Agreed. Hoping to score one around the $800 - $900 mark in the next month assuming Samsung has better black friday deals than they do now.

Alternately an S23+ back in the $600 range would be a decent alternative.

Otherwise might hold out for a Pixel 8 Pro deal around the Mar/Apr timeframe, which seemed to be the best deal this year for the Pixel 7 Pro.
