Samsung Edu store is back with a stock of the most popular TVs.

I have had my eye on the QN900B for a while, and it's finally back in stock and cheaper than before.

2.8% Shopback tracked for me, but I have zero hopes of it being successful as Edu stores are excluded.

  • any 55s in stock?

    • 55" QN85B Neo QLED 4K Smart TV (2022) - $1,079.60

      • that plus a 40% off voucher would be ideal. thanks for looking

        • Not not edu store my friend, not on EDU store.

      • +1

85B is IPS tho, not VA

  • +2

Love TV deals but they seem to be replaced with GAN chargers

  • +4

Wow, 75 inch TV's have come a long way down in the past couple years

    • Yup, not gonna say I hate it

  • +1

    50inch Q90B is $999 as well.

  • +2

I have Samsung TV and this news makes me worried.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRWDunWBgFM

    • I saw that a few days ago, well pay with Paypal, and if anything goes wrong, they will sort it out!
I haven't had any issues in the past except for sorting a return, which took a few calls.

Their after-sales service isn't that great tbh, a bit of hit and miss!

    • Purchased a T.V and a soundbar for the world cup for about $5000. Soundbar never worked, sent in for repair twice, sent back "repaired" - same issue, twice. Massive inconvenience having to pack it up and send it back each time but these things happen - whatever.

After no response after the last repair I escalated to a manager and pushed for a resolution.

Approval for replacement on 10/03/2023. Was told it would take 7-14 business days.

Heard nothing.Called and followed up twice a week ever since. Was told it was escalated, would be called back etc. Eventually refused to hang up the phone until I spoke to the VOC manager who assured me that he would update me soon. This repeated about 3 times.

48 days later, no soundbar, I dont have my money and every time I call samsung I get the "will call you in 1-2 business days" response.

Have already lodged something with Australian Fair Trade Commission but they dont take personal cases.

I feel like Ive been stolen from, from one of the biggest companies in the world with no avenue for compensation or retribution.
      I
had to go to court, court ordered Samsung to give me my soundbar. they had issues doing this (they demanded the old one that I didn't have and was noted during the court case). eventually a day before the court due date, they delivered a new soundbar that has worked fine.

      will never buy scamsung again.

  • My experience with after sales support has been good for the QN90B. The TV was fine but the solar remote started discharging very fast. They then did send me a new one but the support call did require pix and receipts to process the exchange. Not awful but not easy either. In between.

  • Is there any way to get around not having a .edu email? The 65" OLED looks pretty tempting

    • Stupidly good price. I paid $1400 for the 55”. Amazing TV.

  • Is the QA65S95BAWXXY sold out on edu store? Is sold out on my Westpac access

    • Sold out for this item

      • Bummer, I would have pounced

        • +1

Keep an eye on it; they keep updating every few days. Don't trust the stock alert notification. I have never received an email to inform me of more stock.

          • +1

@abs898: Good tip! Might have a look later if I can script it

            • +1

@iMagoo: I tried, but because Edu store keeps logging out, I couldn't make it work. If you could, hit me up please!

              • +1

@abs898: Hey mate, I had a quick look at the requests made by the website as a thanks for the deal.

Here's a request that occurred across the regular Samsung store as well as the Westpac store. The Westpac request worked without a session, suggesting the edu store would too.

                Regular: https://searchapi.samsung.com/v6/front/b2c/product/card/deta…

                Westpac:
                https://searchapi.samsung.com/v6/front/epp/v2/product/card/d…

Swap out the modelList query parameter for the model you're interested in. Swap out the companyCode parameter with your query param from the EDU store, but the stock levels seem to be shared.

From the response, the stockStatusText field seems to indicate if available.

                • @iMagoo: Cheers big ears! Appreciate it, will give it a crack.

Glad you were able to order a TV!

            • @iMagoo: sorry for being a novice over here, but what can scripting allow you to do in this instance? Is it just a quick way to check if it's in stock?

              • @lb8953: Quick and automated - have a computer keep an eye on it and notify when available rather than having to check yourself.

                • @iMagoo: ok that's awesome, I've been checking everyday for months and of course it comes back in-stock whilst i'm overseas.. How do I get it to notify me when it's in-stock? I've got the script page open with the edu parameter, I've just been refreshing that to check. Thanks for your help

  • For max budget of $4k, do you guys have any recommendations for 85 or 100 inch TV for media room where I plan to add "Samsung Q990C 11.1.4 Channel Sound Bar System"? Can wait till Dec for any upcoming sales. Any specific TVs to keep eye on which may come in my budget? TIA.

    • Why not a laser projector?

      • I believe the picture and sound quality in this $4-5k range will be better with big TV and Sound Bar.
Plus I dont have any arrangements for projector and its speakers.

        • +2

You might be able to get an 85 in that budget not a 100 that's for sure.

          • @abs898: I see, 85 is ok for me. Do you recommend any specific ones which I can keep eye / set alerts ?

            • @bluespider: Check what fits in your budget on Samsung website and discount 40-50% off RRP. Keep an eye on those.

Usually you will get 30% on same year models, and 40-60 on last years

    • Just to throw this out there, have you checked your viewing distances for optimal screen size? I havent seen many theatre rooms where a 100" 4K TV would be best.

  • -1

I'm still waiting for an affordable 85" OLED tv. Such as under $3000, preferably under $2000. When will that happen?

    • +3

      yes

    • Jump onto Kogan

      • I don't really like kogan anymore. Their products seem to be low quality. They have little issues, and the support is not very supportive.

    • +1

If I rub my belly hard enough maybe one day I will foresee this coming to fruition, until then I will stick with my 50 dollar projector from AliExpress. 🥲

But in all seriousness, maybe Black Friday sales are worth waiting for, however for a fair bit more than the prices you mentioned.

  • 55" GAN charger with built in OLED screen when?

  • Price match at Jb?

    • Nope edu store, not publically accessible

  • +1

I would avoid qn800b. It is a nice picture but the bottom trim is glossy plastic and if you have a light on behind you, this ugly "wavey" plastic stics out and looks terrible. Plus the screen almost looks like its made out of plastic and not glass as I see warped reflections which really piss me off. Id go with a Sony or maybe LG

  • Are they all sold out again? Been watching qn95b 75” but it just shows get stock alert as usual?

    • It was in stock when the posting was done, I was able to place an order for it and QN900B

  • What are people's thoughts on the value proposition of the 65" QN85B? I was looking at getting a TCL C845 but this looks a bit cheaper

    • Go Samsung

  • Unfortunately too slow, was keen on the 75" QN95B

  • Just a word of warning, their customer service at least in my experience is severely lacking. They still have my money from a few months ago for a sound bar, every time i contact them, they say either its coming or they will escalate and get back to me, then a week or 2 goes by and then i get a standard email from them saying, they havent heard back from me and how do i want to follow through with my order… The same email i have now received about 4 times over the past 2 months. And then when i contact them back, I have to go through the whole identifying and explaining my story process and then they tell me they will get back to me and lo and behold nothing…

    • +1

Sounds pretty standard of them. That's why always pay with PayPal and if anything does wrong, you can dispute straight away.

  • I really need an edu account.

  • These or The Frame?

    • +1

Depends on a couple of factors. These are higher specs than the frame.
But also frame has the looks

    • +1

I got Frame 65" for $900 in January

best purchase ever. stylish design, perfect for gaming (all necessary features 120hz 4k VRR HDMI 2.1 etc.), picture quality is amazing, no reason to upgrade or regret.

have it plugged into Xbox Series X and Chromecast, also free TV, and it's a solid TV day or night.

I have seen it in store alongside with higher tier TVs and oleds, nah no reason to pay more.

  • +1

Seems like some items are restocked. Managed to grab the S95B 65"!

    • I got one too!

      • Good one

    • Me too thanks for the update.
      Now sold out again!

  • Will point out that I had the same pricing on the 65" S95B via the Westpac app. It also offered me $100 further discount by paying with "PartPay", but I think the bank was blocking the transaction. Paying with my regular CC worked.

    • +1

Usually same price via Edu, EPP, govt and other specialised stores.

  • 65" S95B OLED or 75" Crystal UHD or QLED at the similar price point?

    • OLED every time except if you are watching content with long periods of static content or using as a monitor.

  • Most of them are OOS…

    • You need to keep checking, people have been successful in placing orders when restocked.

  • Seems pretty random when stock comes back up and then only for a few more units.

  • Just a warning been waiting a month so far for a supposed in-stock TV. The customer service is completely useless to.

They allow 45 business days to deliver the product….

Not sure what happens after 45 days but probably nothing.

    • Are you still able to cancel from your Samsung account?

I chose a deliver date in late October coz I am away at the moment. Worried they won't stick to it.

I can still see a cancel button in my account

      • No they marked it as "on the way" almost immediately which removed the option to cancel. It clearly hasn't been on the way though for a month haha.

        • That's interesting, mine says preparing from the last 2 days and there's an option to still cancel it.

Possibly because I chose a month later date.

          • @abs898: Mine said 'Awaiting dispatch' on Samsung website and I received a SMS from ANC confirming my collection date and a link for the tracking.

        • @velcrochicken Did you get any SMS from ANC about scheduling the delivery? I had an SMS within an hour or two saying my preferred date wasn't available, and I had to pick another.

  • TV was delivered today - thanks again OP!

    • Yas! Good one.

    • How is the TV so far iMagoo?

      • +1

Unfortunately it won't go up on the wall for another week, but I'm very keen!
