Not sure for just 50 bux less than the previous brand new deal, why you want to use used repaired heatsets. Undestandable at less than 200.
"Brand new" now are the XM5's, that don't fold like these do. Terrible decision by Sony. Would buy these in a heartbeat. Only thing that goes off on them like any portable device is the battery. So with a battery / pad swap, should be fine.
These have been $240 on two occasions in the past 12 months …
I got 1 from the last deal, pretty happy with it, there was one fainted 1cm smudge on the case on the ziper, like red wine or something, other than that everything seems fine feel almost like new, but again I am not one of those people who'd asked for the world even if they are buying second

Hmm - grab these or drop $400 on a brand new XM5s?
Was doing a bunch of research on these yesterday, general consensus was sound quality is pretty similar but -
XM4 - Foldable so much better if travelling a lot/shoving them in bags
XM5 - Pros: More comfortable to wear, better ANC, better Mic, Cons: Can't Fold
XM5 - Pros: More comfortable to wear
I have the XM3 and they're very comfortable, can't see how you'd be able to improve it.
Note: I have the common issue where the plastic on the headband broke. I used very small zip-ties to hold it together as fixing it involves ribbon cables, soldering, etc.
Not sure if the XM4 have resolved this design flaw.I bought my daughter the XM4 after she tried both the XM4 and XM5. She found them (XM4) much more comfortable. Perhaps they are more comfortable for children with smaller dimensions. They both sound great.
i bought this refurbed maybe a year or more ago when they came out.-absolute crap. I would never buy sony again. the bluetooth just drops out. the software that suppose to do amazing things is dodgy. I have reverted to my Bose Q35 (wired) now over 7 years old as these are so annoying to use as wireless, anything but Sony for me.

Snatched a refurb at around this price earlier this year and mine came in like new (wasn't plastic sealed but was taped with refurb sticker)
Smelt like new (factory ish smell) and visually inspected every bit of it and no defect visible to eye at least (and no ear wax or such).
Only gripe is that the ANC generates a stuttering? noise if you're on the older bus which generates lots of engine noise. (Would have to increase it to Ambient level to avoid that.)
Otherwise pretty solid and yes the folding mechanism is really essential.
