  • Confirmed working. I got exp 2068 but I think I'll take it ;)

  • When I try to add my primary account to the newly created 30TB account, it says 'Can't join family group
It looks like you're not in the same country as the person who invited you.'
So which country should this be on? Thank you.

  • Success.

Great instructions and easy to follow.

  • Thanks OP, Is anyone here not getting the option to share the storage with family once added members on Google 1?

  • +1

We need a poll to show how many people actually tried this and how many skipped

Also you should try to be anonymous maybe via vpn and I’m not sure what credit card you guys use. It would review your identity. Does it accept prepaid credit cards?

I’m assuming you all creating new accounts with obscures names and birthday dates

I consider this as a glitch. If google has logs will quickly ban all these accounts

It is worth the risk with disposable data stored I guess. I wouldn’t store anything important in it

You would also need to give a mobile number right for mfa? That will give away your identity as well

    • +1

Dude, seriously, this is Google. If they want to track you they will. For the majority of internet users there is no such thing as true anonymity, it's like securing your house…" make it just hard enough that they just won't bother, but if they really want to get in, they will".

  • Even if they ban the primary account, do you think they do ban the family members too (thinking I connect my main account to this as a family member)?

  • +1

Wait until Ozbargain opens a sister site Ozexploits. It's clearly not right yet mods are selfishly thinking about all the site traffic this generates and monetisation opportunities for the site. Does not pass the sniff test. Waiting for ASD or Cyber Crime unit to crack down on this.

    • Is this post a risk for ozbargain getting shutdown or warning notice that’s the issue it’s not worth the risk imo. If you say gets to cyber security or Google notice this and getting spread across other forums pretty sure the word is out there by now

  • Worked for me. Did it on two burner accounts, one for me and one for my brother.

The one for me will be my Plex media server backup. Currently uploading TV shows to it, so will take up a fair chunk of the space, so if it is to ring any alarm bells at Google, that will be it. If it survives, and there's been no change in a fortnight or so, I will link to my family account.

  • My google account has been disabled. It was fine until last night.
This account became unavailable on Sep 29, 2023. Starting on Aug 24, 2024, this account will be considered for deletion.
If you think your account was disabled by mistake, submit an appeal as soon as possible.
You can also download your data from some Google services. This gives you a way to keep your data even if your account is not restored.

    • For real?? After you did the hack?

      • yes for real it works, mine still says sep 8th 2090 first payment.

        • I asked if his account has been disabled for real

  • 146am

Your family group is currently unavailable

    Dear

It looks like there's a problem with your family group. It may be some time before you can use it again.

For now, you can no longer access Google products and services that need a family group to work. Learn more

If your family manager purchased any family subscription, you can keep using it until the next billing cycle starts.

It's a good idea to ask the family manager about this email. If you want to create or join a new family group, you can leave this family group at any time.

  • Someone who follow this will be considered Hacker?

    • Exploiting a system glitch for personal advantage yes. However not a hacker stealing information. Question is if it’s ethical. Grey area to me lots of having threads here getting freebies with so call hacks

      • you can easy report though someone did this and you didn't, I did it over a vpn.

      • it also shows they have developers that F ed up.

  • +1

Anyone banned yet. Asking for a friend

    • +1

Create new burner google account, I recommend not using existing.

  • -2

I would love to try this but don't really want to risk being banned and couldn't access my files. :D

  • +1

Worked without issue. Followed the steps word by word and got 30TB. Created a new Gmail account and used Coles Prepaid Mastercard (Grey coloured $100 card)

  • +1

Does work btw, now we wait for the bans….

If not banned after a month or two might try using it

  • I had a 2TB yrly plan, did this and they charged me 30TB, then it cancels my 2TB plan, but my next payment date is Jan-2029.

  • Quick question - there’s no need to record a mobile number, just a credit card which if the steps are done correctly doesn’t get billed?

    • +2

      It won't get billed.
By 2090, the credit card would have expired.

  • +12

Set up a Google Calendar entry for my great grand son.
Reminding him to cancel this before the trial expires in 2090.

    • I wish you have a great grandson.

Interestingly, about half way through the process the account is sorted with the 5TB plan that expires in 2032… That would be tempting to do on my main account, miss the 30TB / 2090 ban hammer, might fly under the radar and get 5TB for the next 9 years for free…

  • +1

Nice thanks. For some reason mine expires 2068

  • +1

thanks OP, worked for me, new Google account & Visa giftcard. Anyone tried cancelling right after - does it change the end date at all?

    • +3

Cancelled straight after.. All good keeps it active till the end date.

  • Look, I'm keeping my Turkish 2TB plan and signing up to this as well. Not going to use it, just keeping it around in case I want a 10% discount for Google tech. If after a year or so it's still kicking, I'll consider making it my boss account.

  • +3

This isn't going to end well

    • +4

"Google files for Chapter 11 because of local bargains site"

    • +1

Google isn't exactly a non-tech savvy enterprise, pretty sure there will be AI picking up on anomalous activities given how many forums this exploit has already been copy and pasted to (like this one).

  • still valid, i thought i was late for the party.
    thanks

  • +2

Got 7x $0.01 temporary holds from Google on my HSBC card lol

  • Two observations - how the hell did the OP work this out ? And I will certainly be dead in 2090😁

    • A grumpy employee trying to get back to google lol?

    • +1

That’s how hacking works these days. If you get someone’s tokens somehow they don’t even need your password at all. So never share your tokens online as it’s like a ticket to allow you to access account for a period of time

      • +2

        Name checks out

        • Name checks out

  • Currently uploading my 15tb Plex library with rclone/crypt

    • i wouldn't put pirated stuff up there.

      • You missed the crypt part…

  • I already pay for google drive storage will this still work?

    • +1

I'd suggest creating a burner account that you are willing to get terminated and use this exploit. If by some miracle you still have it alive until before your main account's subscription expires, create a family plan and invite your main account.

This will share your burner account's allocation while keeping your main account separate from the burner that did the exploit. If it does get terminated eventually, just subscribe again as you normally would.

  • do you really think good are going to allow users to keep there 30tb of storage?

    • Do you :) ??

    • -1

Worst case scenario account banned, track down your identity who created it, reported to cyber security, filed on police record. Named as hacker for exploiting loophole. Data vanished no longer accessible

I would not recommend to do it if your job requires government clearance

If you can hide it anonymously which I believe you cannot if you use fake ids, fake email identity but still using VPN etc to hide but you can't hide your activity if federal police is on it

      • ok so nothing serious then.

        • Nothing of concern if your job doesn’t require government clearance I guess.

          • @neonlight: its all good I canceled it Your membership will end on 8 Sept 2090. You can renew your membership at any time. :D

      • +3

Wowee, this is some absolutely top-tier fear mongering! Considered a career at NewsCorp?

Also, it bears mentioning that while this is possible, the worst case scenario is surely one in which you die an early death, due to your involvement in this tweak.

      • +1

There's no way in the world you will be reported to cyber security. This is on the same level as the exploits to VPN to Turkey to get cheap netflix and spotify.

Absolute worst case from Google will be account termination.

From reading this thread and seeing how old alumni university accounts still have 1 petabyte of Google Drive storage - I don't think they will be too fussed by this too be fair, they clearly have a shitload of datacentres and storage, and I doubt most people will use the 30TB - I have 200GB on my main account and have backups of my documents and 2 iphones photos / videos and it's still not full, let alone 150 times that amount…

        • Google is a US company who knows FBI can track you down

      • +1

Doubt anything will happen to that extent. But also:

you can't hide your activity if federal police is on it

        Adorable.

        • Haha maybe FBI. Don’t forget I warned you

The deal is tempting whether it’s lawful that’s up to you to determine

        • +1

yeah FBI is usually pretty stupid just look at the biden laptop issue :D

  • Thanks OP, made a new account and followed some of the suggestions here to get me to 2068 with 30TB. Will wait and see how nuked it gets.

  • +1

Does anyone have an existing 2Tb plan? if so, if you click on the first magic link does it allow you to get it free until March 2024?

I tried it on my 200Gb but I get a We are unable to change your subscription plan.

I was hoping for a few free months :-(

Anyway thanks Op! Finally I've got somewhere to backup all that Optus Data.

    • I am getting the same error message. This might be because we have existing plan already.

      • +1

        Yeah hey arctan.

I had a 2tb plan. And it errored on me.

Open a new Google account and add it to your family for the main account . And it will work

      • Yep bugga, I was just going to do the first step to get 6 extra months. I might experiment with the other steps to extend my current subs a year or two.

    • don't use your existing account this is a hack.

      • Yep i know. Plenty of scare-mongering about what might happen. The magic link bit is No different to the various other magic link or coupon hacks to get free/extended trials.

I've already paid for my sub, so they can't cancel it without giving a refund (just like Disney+ did early this year). Risk is small.

        • I like your undivided trust in Google :-)

  • +1

Followed the guide and it worked beautifully. Cancelled the sub and removed my card details.

Gonna leave it alone for a while and see what happens before linking it to my mains

  • Wow, thanks OP worked like a charm.

Just struggling on how to cancel subscription then remove card?

Do I click "cancel membership" on https://one.google.com/settings?expand=upgrade ?

    • Found it! You have to cancel subscription via https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions

Then payment method/credit card can be deleted.

      • +1

yep works well I canceled and removed payment and still says 8th of september 2090 "Cancelled
Your subscription will end on 8 Sept 2090"

  • +5
    • +4

      Ah dou ma

  • Google sent an email this morning regarding suspicious activities on my new account (created for this purpose) that disabled the account; Got reinstated after adding the mobile and confirming the code. Lookout for this message if you've added this account to your mobile phone.

    • did you get to keep all the storage?

      • yes.

  • +3

unknown OP with possibly the deal of the year, legend.

    • To be fair, was copied from OS… but still an incredible share.

      • +1

well yeah but still kudos for finding and sharing it here

    • +2

      deal of the year

For the next 67 years xD

    • +2

Year? If this sticks will go down as greatest deal of all time.

  • +1

Just made that working but I don't think Google will not do anything for it, since this has gone viral everywhere… I created an account just for fun. Suggest you guys don't use the one you actually use for storing photos in case Google banned it.

    • not alot of people have fast upload speeds to really use the space. even my 1gigbit fiber connection only had a 500mb upload speed.

      • 750GB per day limit on googles end (this includes server-side transfers within googles network - just tried this) not much more than 540GB that could be uploaded with 50mbit connection

Individual users can only upload 750 GB each day between My Drive and all shared drives. Users who reach the 750-GB limit or upload a file larger than 750 GB cannot upload additional files that day. Uploads that are in progress will complete. The maximum individual file size that you can upload or synchronize is 5 TB.

    • but I don't think Google will not do anything for it

Well I mean, Google's known for just suddenly shutting down their actual, non-glitch services that they extract money from paying customers for access to (RIP Google Play Music). I'd be surprised if they slept on this. But also it would be funny and ironic if they did.

  • +1

    well it works.

be interesting to see how long it takes before they ban accounts lol

  • +4

select count(*) from subscriptions where billingDate > Dateadd(year, 2, getdate())

    — delete from subscriptions :D

  • Do you think they assign you 30TB straight away when you signup?

  • +1

let's get this deal to 1k votes

the whole premise of this deal is questionable. 30TB of what? what are you going to store there on those 30TB knowing Google can ban this account any moment

so it should be some data you don't mind losing any moment. so you probably have a copy of it somewhere locally on your drive or elsewhere. so why would you even move it to this unreliable 30tb you're getting? just keep it where it is, probably more reliable there.

puzzling this is. meditate on this I will not
