    • 8k p0rn? :D

      • it's free on prawn hub, why bother? do you really care about 8k vs 4k in this case, also you'll need an 8k monitor or TV to tell the difference, and bandwidth to stream.. why bother when 720p do the trick? lol

        • got to put something on your 8k tv :D

  • what is Notepad application? just for copy & paste later?
where to Find what "2C5" and then replace with "2C3"?

    • Just Notepad on Windows. Copy the link as described into Notepad then use File - Find (I think). Type in 2C5. That will highlight where it is in the link. Change the 5 to a 3 (or what ever the instruction says on each step)

  • managed to get it till 2090..or sept 30 2023 :P let's see when they find out

do you think it will be canceled?

what is Notepad application? just for copy & paste later?
where to Find what "2C5" and then replace with "2C3"?

      • i mean i doubt google will be able to give everyon 30tb.. i really don't know, but i'm sure they will cancel

Notepad - it's a random app, you can even use microsoft word and find 2cF

  • does anyone know how to check after the fact? I got the splash screen that says 2090 but now I wanna check every day to see if they change expire

    • i guess you're good if it's 2090

    • Go to play.google.com > click the top right circle > payments & subscriptions > subscriptions tab.

      • +3

cool thanks man yep still says Next payment: $187.49 on 8 Sept 2090 :D at 67 year trial, I don't know if I will like it at the end of the trial I may have to cancel.

  • Hi guys,

I have cancelled my plan. On my subscription page, I can see the message "Canceled - Your subscription will end on Sep 8, 2090"

Is this what expected on subscription page ?

  • i dont see this ending well :/

  • +1

thanks. I can confirm it works during this post.
I have question, how to verify the expiry after doing all of these? when subscribe it tells you 2090, but after you navigate away, I am trying to check again.

not sure, if we just stop at 5TB it would be safer that go all the way to 30TB?

    • +1

you need to follow and read carefully and read the instruction with out missing anything or it will fail.

    • Go to Google Play Store - Subscriptions and it will list the expiry.

      • thanks. that's exactly what I am looking for. still showing 2090.

  • Google will probably fix it by bulk-updating everyone’s trial expiry date to +184 days. So better to cancel now, so you don’t get any surprises…

These big companies don't move very fast. Someone there has probably received an email about this, if it's a non-technical person they'll just bin it. When it finds it's way to someone who cares, they have to go in and check if it's a legit issue. Then someone has to figure out which bit of the code to change then discuss what is the right fix. Then to change the code. Then a lot of other people will test whether everything still works before they make the code live. After that they'll figure out what to do with the people who've already upgraded. And all the meetings with management in between.

Most people aren't going to use the full 30tb, it won't cost them that much. They have already given away unlimited storage to student subscriptions in the past.

If you get downgraded back to your normal plan you can still get the files out, they just won't let you upload or make new ones…

The question is do you dare do it with your main account.

  • This was posted on a very famous and popular website in Vietnam where tens or even hundreds of thousands of people will be trying this hack. I doubt Google won't find out about this and ban it all.

    • +2

I do not believe Google would take such a drastic action of "banning" everyone that used the exploit. They may just remove the plan or revert you back to your original plan and storage. If you are over the limit then you cannot upload any more.

      • Imagine the class action if they ban everyone lol

        • Would probably be better to honour the 30TB until 2090.

          • @LostyJai: They'll probably offer a free 200gb for a yr or something.

It's pretty embarrassing for a leading security company who delights in finding holes in other company's software and makes a point to publicly embarrass them if they haven't fixed it in 90 days.

            • @M00Cow: pretty sure they will fire some developers for F'up's they made lol

    • Yeah I got a message pop up in Vietnamese when I tried to add a single use Revolut card declining payment.

    • +5

      Vietbargain?

    • Do you mind share that website?

  • I have trouble creating a new email ID.
Getting"This phone number cannot be used for verification".Tried different numbers though..Anyone else?

    • There should be a "Skip" button

      • There isn't always

      • Stuck at "prove you are not a robot" screen.

        • Nice try, you're clearly a bot!

Somewhere in the sales analytics department of Google:
"Sir, we've had 1874602987528734 new sign ups to our 30TB offering in the past 24hrs!"
    "Excellent. Bonuses for all!"

    • And shareholders are buying more alphabet stock.
Waiting for Elon Musks tweet now

Who created an account to set this up just for the heck of it, and see how long it takes Google to catch on?

    • +1

      All

I was the thousandth upvote, dont be jealous.

Just spent the whole morning trying to combine the family to >60TB but as it turns out, the "Share Google One with your family" slider on a premium Google One plan will not show if you have another premium Google One account in the family with that setting on. So I had to turn off the "Share Google One with your family" slider on one account for it to show on the other. It seems like Google is not allowing more than one family member with premium Google One plan to share their storage at a time. Don't waste your time trying. (Though I'm really hoping someone can point out that my theory is incorrect.)

    • +2

Congratulations you might have banned all your family's accounts

    • outside of this hacked storage scenario

the process is better used as:

      1) account with most storage is set as family leader sharing google 1
      2) subsidary accounts received the shared storage + their personal google 1

so if your burner is the leader sharing 30tb for example and u also have 30tb on ur main account

ur main account will have 60tb where 30 is shared

this is how u maximise the paid 2TB turkish accounts for $20 a year

  • Thanks op

  • +2

Uploading a 4th backup copy of baby photos to test - working beautifully….wonder for how long

  • +1

Any proof that they ban accounts?

    • +1

This is a perfectly legit method with no downside. I personally guarantee there will be no issues until at least 2091

    • Given it's taking so long to fix this, they unlikely block it as it's gonna be a PR diasaster. E.g) google blocks 1m accounts including many average mom dad kid grandma followed a deal site instruction

But 0% chance they will honour it. I bet 1 year free trial is likely outcome.

  • +1

"On the plans website, select the option to upgrade to the 30TB Plan" people are having problems with seeing the option to change to the 30TB plan
Some people are saying, oh, there's a "More Options" button below to reveal the 30TB plan. But for some people including me, there is no More Options , the max is 2TB on this page. https://one.google.com/plans

    Instead, you should go to

    https://one.google.com/settings

And click on "Change membership Plan" This should reveal all the available plans, and you can click on the "purchase" button then click Continue then you should be able to do the f12 dev tools step from there and continue with the guide.

Its really great and I love to play around with things like this..And apparently, I got lost on the way too.. make a quick video if possible please

  • nice works…. :)

now time to sit back watch the footy and wait for the bans :P

  • Thank you OP
Easy to follow instructions…. good work

  • +3

Kinda feels like this is an interview question for Google.
As some people can follow the instructions, and others cant.

  • Will $187 for 30TB in 2090 be good value or extremely overpriced πŸ€”

    • Storage will be cheap if you are alive

    • +2

In 2090 $187 would get you a packet of Smiths crinkle cut chips.

      • without the chips.
        just the wrapper

    • -1

Not sure any of us exist then with climate change. You might as well take whatever is given now

    • 30TB will be the equivalent of 30KB

    • And it begins.

    • +1

FUD, dvd107's first comment since 10th September.

    • You're doing it wrong, bro. You're not supposed to use your actual Google account to try weird glitches being recommended to you by randos on a New Zealand bargain forum. You're supposed to set up burners and do the glitch on those.

Doing it on the burners also allows you to repeat the glitch to double your free storage until you're sufficiently leveraged to your personal risk tolerance.

    • +1

This account became unavailable on 29 Sept 2023. Starting on 10 Aug 2024, this account will be considered for deletion.

I don't think it is related to this deal lol

      According to google:

If your account is disabled, you'll get an explanation.

    • Anyone else had this before it's labelled FUD?

I've only done it on new accounts anyway.

They might only ban new accounts

    • Nice fake post

      • Commenter retracted due to fake news?

I think it would be a PR disaster if they banned long term daily driver accounts

  • +3

this is the most ozbargain of ozbargain post i have ever seen

  • +3

I respect the fact that you didn't:
    a) Keep silent on an exploit like this and have a much better chance of having it work
    or
    b) Report this to Google in an attempt to get a bug bounty.

    • Yep, props to OP

Post of the year for sure

    • +1

it was already posted on other forums, so likely hundreds or thousands already done it before OzB hords.

  • This is an illegal incredible hack. Let's see how long my G1 lasts.

  • Possible to use this on an existing gmail account? lol

    • if you don’t mind the risk of getting banned

    • Yep

  • Can anyone find 2C5 πŸ˜… i tried CTRL + F and I couldn't find it

    • Assuming this is notepad and your cursor is at the end of the URL and is only searching after the string. Press home first or specify the find direction

    • In Notepad, turn Word wrap on
      Search down or search up.

  • Quite an involved procedure. Perhaps I messed something up (a digit, or the correct sequence) but I only got to 30TB plan up till 2068. Not to worry though, I will probably be dead by then and by Credit Card expires next year anyway. Environmentalist have been claiming for decaded that the planet is just years away from total disaster. perhaps they'll get it right this time.

  • @xngbac how to do this
    9. (Optional) Cancel the plan and remove the card to avoid any unwanted fees.

    • +1

      Manage Subscriptions -> Cancel
      Manage Payment -> remove cc

      • thanks

      • To do this requires adding a new card.

        • Nope. After you cancel the subs you can remove the card. I have no payment method for mine.

          • @M00Cow: True- I finally managed to find the cancel subscription button.
            It's under "https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions"

    • Click on the link from step 5 and cancel your membership from there.

  • It may those few who start moving lots of files to the drive will be lost eventually. Thanks for testing the capacity and system. Another example of digital asset information storage being easily strip off.

    I am stopping at this

    Subscribe to 2TB plan/year. (Expires on December 16, 2032)

    • +4

      9 years will fly by

  • this reminds be of that selling that would sell "lifetime" office 365 accounts I am pretty sure all those accounts are no longer avaliable.

    • You can still buy them

    • Almost 4 years and still going strong. Much like this deal, there's not a lot of downside.

      • that deal still available?

  • +2

Now that we have this massive storage, is anyone keen to create a 4K movie-sharing group?
