        I wouldn't count on them definitely doing that, but frankly, I wouldn't count on them letting people keep their 30TB until 2090 either. Actually I think the chance is quite a lot higher that they will keep you data for 2 years in read-only mode than it is they'll let you keep your 30TB in non read-only mode for even 2 years if you're only able to because you took advantage of the bug.

      The bug is now public knowledge everywhere, so even if you attempted to report it to Google, you still won't receive any compensation.

does anyone know

1) what this 6months promotion was for? ive never seen google give out such a long promo beyond 3 months

2) is there a way to do a similar hack BUT LEGITIMATELY PAY MONEY
i.e. 5tb plan for 12 or more months but paid

im asking cause im happy to pay for a subscription but would be good to buy one for a longer time period AND larger capacity. the existing storage options for AU and certain regions is limited.

  There will always be the possibility that you wake up and realise your Google account is banned or disabled. It will be a PITA recovering it, especially if you use it for everything (phone, emails, storage).

      Google do and have banned accounts before. I speak from experience and it's extremely difficult to get unbanned due to their rigid bot like processes. I was mistakenly banned but even still it took huge effort to get them to reverse the ban.

  If you don’t want to do family sharing, just do partner sharing and setup to autosave. Disconnect partner sharing once photos have been backed up. I just leave it on for s few days and it all gets saved.

    Do you know if there is a way to check to see if all photo has been saved? There is no progress bar to show what percentage has been saved.

      Unfortunately, there is no progress, leave it on for a few days and it should be done.
      
      You can check the photos that you have saved here: photos.google.com/search/tra
      
      Saved photos from partner sharing doesn't count towards storage. But once you disconnect, it should count towards your storage. You can do a comparison of the increased in storage once you disconnect the account.
