I have a feeling Google is probably waiting for people to put pirated content and share links externally so they can do a signature scan and ban accounts saying you’ve breached some sort of T&C. Perhaps the storage for personal use only will never get banned…fingers crossed…

My (new) account is still showing 30tb and working fine. I left it set to auto renew at 200gb for $2 or so in 2090.

Figured I'm better off leaving it not as an account pending cancellation.

      so far at 3.5TB, just low impotence backup archives and files with only a single copy incase drive failure otherwise wouldn't have them backed up
      
      counting on them reducing plans back to 15GB but whatever uploaded remains in read-only state for a few years until i can afford more or cleanup some local storage space
      
      unlikely they'll let us keep 30TB indefinitely, since the exploit has been patched the amount taking advantage is no longer increasing (that's the important part), the few who took advantage they can take their sweet time with no notable loss particularly with how much excess storage they must have recently forcing grandfathered plans off unlimited google workspaces storage plan
      
      so many in r/DataHoarder had over 100TB (some probably petabyte) in there and well linus promoted the unlimited storage to the masses 5 years ago, they report 5 user accounts however unlimited storage always worked with a single user account at $18AUD/mth

Account has been banned "It looks like this account was created or used with multiple other accounts to violate Google’s policies. The account might have been created by a computer program or bot." I can start an appeal but dont like my chances. Lets be honest, it was a shot in the dark at best

This is not a small mistake from Google. There is a very slim chance that Google will leave it as it is. Even if Sundar Pichai wants to leave it, he can't do it. Because we are talking about 2090. After some years, there will be another CEO, and after that, another, until 2090… If he decides not to take any action, his decision will affect a couple of future CEOs, and this is a question about the next generations. Per person, it is over $143k. He will be responsible for future CEOs.

  It's only worthwhile for them to do something if people fill up the space and it starts costing them storage space. If most people are afraid of losing their data and don't put much there, it's not costing them much.
  
  They may wait a while till people feel comfortable using it and put all their valuable data in it, then ask them for money. They used to offer higher education unlimited storage, after everyone filled up their google drives with data they reduced it and made them pay. It's a guarantee that the people who have used this hack aren't dumbies. You need to be able to do basic tech things to get it, they are probably not poor.

This is a service folks, it can be reclaimed at any point if you haven't actually paid for it. Google aren't exactly computer illiterate to not have monitoring mechanisms in place.

shared it with existing family group - the whole group got the quota bump - (again winning)
a few days later (now)… new account still has 30tb until 2090 and is still in family group but the other group members don't have the 30tb shared to them any longer?

I Missed out, oh well.
There is a setting to click to activate sharing the data. Had this problem in the past.

got to https://one.google.com/

Click on the settings cog wheel
Manage family settings
Tick share google one with family.

Hopefully not telling you something you already knew!

Got logged out of the Google account and when signing back in, asks for mobile phone verification but says "This phone number cannot be used for verification" (tried with multiple numbers, even one which has never been used with Google), so guess it's over for me 🤷‍♂️

  I had the same issue. My email address was logged out and mentioned that this email address was believed to be a bot. Other email addresses that were linked via Family One were also kicked out of the family group with the notification saying "If your family manager purchased any family subscription, you can keep using it until the next billing cycle starts". Then, I tried to add a boost mobile phone number and a backup email account if anything happened. Seems to be all good.

I have partner shared all my google photos from my main Google account to a new Google account. I would like to move all my photos to my new Google account and delete all my photos on my old/main Google account. I have had the partner sharing for over a week to make sure all the photos are transferred across. I can see all the photos from the old Google account on the new Google account. Storage is still being taken up by the old Google account. Do I end the partner sharing then delete all my photos from an old account to free up storage space on my old account? or do I leave the partner sharing on then delete all photos from old account then end the partner sharing? If you kindly leave me a step by step instructions to safely transfer all my photos to my new Google photos to free up space in my main/old Google account it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  Then go to "Manage Family Settings"
