I'd only do this with an email you wouldn't care about getting banned, and items you don't mind losing.

    • +3

      you don't mind losing.

      What about the 30TB storage?

The 3 people who need 30TB already have it.

        • +2

Not true, I don't have it… but I also have more than 30TB of data.

      • +2

Whoa! When were 2.5" floppy disks a thing???

      • +2

        2.5" floppy disks

I know you could fake double density by cutting a bit out of a 5.25" ones, but what does cutting 1" off a 3.5" floppy do :)

        • +2

That was double sided. Had to flip them over.

Man those 2" video floppies could hold a whole 50 frames! Hitting the big time!

          • @rygle: YouTube SneakerNet edition

        • You mean you could fake double sided. Double density was different and referred to the format or TPI (tracks per inch), so you could have double sided single density or even get quad density.

          • @LowRange: Oh, nobody mentions the good old 8 inch floppy!
            All 360KBytes of it!
That was also known as a flippy, if it was double sided.
Then it also became double density+ double sided!

@Marty156: LOL… Contracting for a bank many yrs ago, they had boxes of them to use to reboot systems.. and it took 45+mins to reboot…. I seem to remember they were also limited use 1-3 times then chuck em… but the memory is very hazy

The person that will live forever has already been born… I'm paraphrasing Neil Degrasse Tyson (I think)

      • Yep. Using average life expectancy, I'll be gone around 2060. So this deal will outlive me.

      • Hey, there's hope. I know Cave Johnson of Aperture Science has his team working on longevity right now. They're also developing some sort of portal gun from what I hear.

  • +14

I feel like editing source code multiple times to achieve something is a little too far into the unethical side for me.

    • +61

      lol "source code"

      • +2

As an interpreted language, HTML is actually source code. However, in this case I didn't realise it wasn't HTML elements being changed, rather various URL's that were called are edited and re-entered into the address bar.

    • +6

Just editing the API link, not the source code.

      • +22

        Technically accurate version:

I feel like intercepting and changing a requested URL using a browsers developer tools and network console, multiple times to achieve something is a little too far into the unethical side for me.

    • +7

It's client side. You aren't editing code in Google's servers lol. That's a fast way to get police knocking on your door.

      • +1

You are sending altered HTTP request to google's server tho.

So I have to upload 30tb of data for Google to delete it later?

How will I access it after 2090? Not a deal imo

    • +1

Just have to open the developer console to your DNA and tweak a few settings.

  • Sorry. Idiotic "deal"…

At what point is a hack just fraud. Feel free to do this if you have nothing better to do though don’t whinge if/when the Google account gets banned.

This is cheeky fun at best, not a deal. Even if you achieve what has been posted, you need to expect that the account could be banned at any time and the files lost. At best the account could be used as a secondary backup location if Google doesn’t catch on.

    • +6

okay do it and tell us after 9.30 tonight
      2090 = 9.30 tonight

laughs in 60tb of unlimited Pixel 1 photo storage

      • -1

Photo storage, not general Google Drive storage.

        • -1

I'm sorry, are photo terabytes smaller than drive terabytes?

          • -2

@Gorby: So you're saying you can upload movies, music and basically anything that isn't photos or videos to your Google Photos storage?

Like I said, "not general Google Drive storage". Unless you have a hack to make use of Google Photos storage to upload files other than photos and videos, then it's pretty pointless having 60TB. I already know how to get unlimited Google Photos storage with Android mods like Pixelify and I'm using it. But that storage is useless when it comes to storing other types of files, hence why Google offers 2 separate products/services - i.e Google Photos and Google Drive, which you clearly don't seem to understand.

Technically, Google Photos use the space in Google Drive, just like OneDrive uses the space in Sharepoint. But you are only able to upload photos/videos.

    Unresolved Reports
    4 for Illegal/Inappropriate

Haha really? How many times have such things made front page over the years? Especially those old eBay UK hacks years ago.

    • +3

Ok neggers you think I'm wrong about the eBay hacks? Boom here you go

You will need to make a new account if you don't have an eBay UK account yet. And then put a UK address as your primary address when you sign up and change it to Australia afterwards to be able to add the gift cards to cart.

      🙄🙄🙄

      • Why did you dig up a 4 year old post when you could have just gone back 2 weeks

Fair point though, this seems on par. Would be awesome if not for the risk of account bans

        • +1

I mentioned the eBay UK deal because I can remember the controversy at the time and the significantly high number of votes it received. That Netflix deal is certainly a good example too.

Hopefully anyone that says this deal is fraud/illegal/inappropriate hasn't been supporting the Turkey VPN deals.

Has Google actually banned anyone for this?

          • +1

@Clear: Not a chance. There's no hacking here. It's selecting available plans in an unexpected way. Google won't notice, or care.

      • Good old days!
