    obligatory VA comment

  • Have been considering a 4k TV around this size to have in my room, powered by a recently purchased 4080 system.
Are there reasons I should consider this over 4k TVs of similar size?

c3 should be 1100-1200 end of year just wait for that imo

If I were in the market again, I'd go for an OLED every time. You just can't beat the contrast, color and super-fast response time/input lag of an OLED panel. VA has good contrast and mini-LED isn't bad, but it won't look or perform as good. Even if you had to spend another $300-600 on it, I'd still go the OLED option. The only downside would be that it can be quite reflective so it's not ideal in super-bright rooms or positioned opposite a large window. In that situation, a regular monitor with a non-reflective coating might be better.

The massive downside is image burn in. Once you've gone through that you get less enthusiastic about OLED.

Mini LED is decent but still pales in comparison to my C2 42" I purchased for $995. I feel like monitors are quite overpriced compared to their TV counterparts

    • yea was gonna ask if this is better than the c2. so you reckon this isnt?

    • where did you get it for $995?

On sale 5-6 months ago, i bought mine during black friday for $300 more

      • Was on special a few months back, got down to that price only for a few days, I think at JB. They then all sold out.

Yeah it's a shame how stagnant the monitor space is. It's been what, 5+ years since HDR became mainstream and we still don't have mid range monitors that do it well? Not super fussed over OLED vs LCD since for my usage burn in would be an issue but the fact that a monitor with decent local dimming will run you over a grand is mental.

    • Dumb question: can I use q TV as monitor? Just for office works, not a gamer.
      Thanks.

I've been using LG C2 for about a year. No issues for far.
You will need a deep desk. And you have to power it on with the remote as it cannot wake up with the computer.

    • i went from miniled to and the difference is night and day in my eyes. hoping to pick up a c3 monitor this year around that price.

  • I considered this, but all of the reviews basically say the ghosting is pretty bad, so as a gamer it was a hard no for me

Unfortunately this monitor has very bad ghosting issues and is not worth the purchase when it was launched. I am not sure if it has been fixed.

There is a review online which shows the ghosting issues.
