Seems like a good bargain when the listed price from Tigers webiste is around $70 dollars

According to their website

https://www.tiger-corporation.com/en/jpn/product/vacuum-insu…

"The bottle can also be used for sports drinks containing salt. (Care for the bottle immediately after use.)"

I hate those bottles that only allows water and tea.

"The bottles are available in five colors that suit business settings, including earth tone colors. The stylish and unobtrusive tones easily harmonize with items around your desk and make the bottles look cool."

    • They might look cool, but be careful — appearances can be deceptive if you don’t take little sips to start with

    • Lol

      • Japanese marketing — keeping it real

  • seems to be normal price?

    • Get in before inflation bites!

    • Happened to be looking at this yesterday, I'm sure it was $21 something and had gone up when I looked again today.

  • +1

Thanks, got one to replace my current aluminium coated water bottle for work

    • The heat retaintion for the 480mls 1H is 85C 6H is 65C. Compare to 600ml one which is 1H - 87C and 6H - 87C

If your into hot water, 600mls will be a better option

    What makes these so good?

    • +18

      It’s Japanese. You want more?!

    • Made in Vietnam

  • +2

Can you cook rice in it

    • +4

Yes I think that's the question on everyone's mind

      • +4

        It is now

    • +4

      Well…technically you can. Absorption method.

  • Not vacuum

    • +16

      That's correct, it's a drink bottle

      • So it sucks?

        • +1

Only for a short time until the vacuum doesn't exist anymore.

Hopefully for this one they also did the temperature testing with the lid on

According to Tiger's webite… it states

    Much prefer camelbak eddy+ vacuum.

Got a tiger bottle years back, was a pain to clean and scratched easily.

    • Do they work with carbonated drinks?

      • +17

        I gas so

  • Price ✅️ bought

Got one of these…doesn’t keep warm as long as zojiroushi.

    • I go a zojiroushi it’s good

Also got another Japanese made one unknown brand

ODAJIMA Silm SL-600 Active24 is actually better than Zojiroushi however they are no longer made

  • +1

I knew I should of bought some kind of Amazon GC with cashback lol

    Love the ebony…

You can't go back can you.

  • I've had dozens of different types of insulated water bottles, for me Contigo is by far the best, never leaks, no need to remove cap or mess around to drink, stays cold or hot and survives many falls.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Contigo-507530-Westloop-Autoseal-S…?

    • +2

I avoid these because you have to put your mouth on the always-exposed rim to drink. Also with the Contigo bottles you have to keep the thing pressed for the entire sip.

Personally prefer the push-button flip top bottles for those reasons

      • I agree the rim can get grotty if you dont keep it clean but pressing on the valve is no problem at all as its all part of just holding the bottle.
The screw on cap and drinking valve are so much more leakproof than traditional systems i could never go back.
Bear in mind I use mine almost exclusively for cold water mostly when exercising and playing tennis and like to get lots of water in as quickly as possible!

    • I’ve also got the same and highly rate it. But @andresampras you raise some very valid points. What do you recommend? This tiger one?

      • +1

I've got a smaller ~350ml Tiger for coffee. It's so good at retaining heat it's almost bad :) First time I used it I made coffee with water at 90 degrees in the morning….couldn't drink said coffee until that evening, too hot.

for water etc I like my Coleman Burst, great lid….not sure about temperature retention on it though haven't really tested that.

I also considered Yeti rambler with chug spout (lid has to be unscrewed and held/put down while drinking, also it's too big and heavy for ~1L capacity) and Camelbak with chug lid (really wanted to like this one but the lid's screw mechanism is too fiddly to open/close)

    https://www.amazon.com.au/MKA-K060KK-One-Touch-Lightweight-S…

I got this last time and personally I would get this for slightly more $27.90 because of the wider drinking spout and the minor improvements.

  • I have to ask, how it is compared to this https://www.amazon.com.au/Ocean-Bottle-Eco-Friendly-Stainles…

    • Yikes, $88 for a water bottle!

  • Is it leak proof?

    • +1

According to the website its "Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Hydrate Pro Water Bottle with Leak-Proof Lid"
So in theory , its leak proof?

Its does get a 4.5 star (out of 5) from Leak proof from Amazon Jp website.
      .

  • Thanks OP. Got 3.

  • So many options, any better for gym?

    • I prefer plastic bottles for the gym. There’s always cold water on tap anyway

  • Anyone know an affordable metal single-wall bottle for dishwasher-safe? I've looked but can't find any viable ones

  • its cheaper now
