Just in time for the new WRC. The first WRC licensed game from Codemasters in 20 years.

    T300 I believe gives about 4nm.
So if you want upgradeability for a slightly higher price, the Fanatec CSL DD 5nm kits are a good option. Costs $639 + delivery https://fanatec.com/au-en/ready2race/csl-dd-ready2race-bundl…

Then you can get an 8nm power brick for like $50-100 off aliexpress when you're ready to upgrade.

Or if you want to go to the higher level from that, MOZA R9 v2 or such are good, but a lot more expensive

Now tell them about the mclaren wheel

    • Is that deal not still on when you can get a whole setup + another DD for $910? Then resell the DD for $450 - $500 and theoretically getting the started DD kit for like $400 - $450?

      • It was last night. Not sure about now

    • Neither of those 2 are console compatible so you're looking at $1200 for the DD pro, or $800 for the r3 which is Xbox only.

      • You can use the csl dd on xbox with a compatible wheel. Which can be bundled for $815-865 (depending on if you want a desk clamp) https://i.imgur.com/1m6Jacp.png

as for PS5, you can just get the normal csl dd bundle and a drivehub.

@bargainhunterjacob Totally agree, with the current price of entry level Direct Drive kits, wheels like this don't make a lot of sense, at least at this price because that Fanatec setup would stomp all over this.

IMO It's ridiculous they are still charging so much for this wheel

  • Sounds like something from a XXX shop

  • I see PLE also have the T80 on sale. Is this any good for someone who's trying out racing gaming?

No it’s terrible & has no force feedback

      • What about Logi G29?

  • I have a mate selling me a moza r5 bundle (with minimal use)+ cockpit still with warranty for $700.

What do you reckon is a better? The moza r5 DD bundle? Or this Thrustmaster?

    • +1

The moza r5 DD is much better if you are using it for PC or Xbox.

If you need a PlayStation compatible wheel all the direct drives are $1200-$2000.

      • Seems like an absolute rort considering you can get the XBox compatible versions for half the price.

        • +1

You can thank PlayStation for that.

      • What about the Logitec G29?

    • +1

@whitepuma I reckon you'd be crazy not to buy that set from your friend! A lot of people could only dream of all that nice gear for their first sim rig and at such a price too.

      • +1

Aha not crazy, just don't know as much about this racing sim gear as others.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to get it off of him before he changes his mind

        • Ah that's great to hear 👍 Yep, you better snap it up quick 😉

You're welcome :) You are going to have so much fun! 🏁🏆 Plus, racing games are very visceral and great for relaxation and improving focus and mental health imo.

  • A solid wheel but require some modding to get the most out of it.
