A good alternative to the later GoPros which have a tendency to overheat. I found a review on YouTube that said it only overheated when the screen was always on, but it kept recording. Personally I am running the Action 4 now from a GoPro hero 7 black. The jump has been great, boot speeds are much quicker and the stabilisation is fantastic. The difference with the 4 appears to be marginal with the Osmo Action 3, with the 4 mostly gaining the edge in lower light conditions. The Action 4 adventure combo retails for $819 for reference.
The $629 GoPro bundle is closely rivalled if you want to go for the name brand. But I really like how the battery pack on the Osmo comes in a charging case, which also stores SD cards and can be used as a power bank.
I still have old GoPro accessories and they are compatible with one another.
