      Sadly, I think that boat has sailed. I noticed amazon.com.au stopped selling Iwantani butane burner. The only one I found is that Tough Maru Jr. It seems like they stopped shipping those to AU.

        I called one of the local Japanese stores before, and they informed me that the Iwatani butane burner does not meet Australian requirements.

    Anyone have experience using this?. How easy is it to clean the mesh and tray below. Whether oil will drip all the way to the stove?.

      No oil will drip onto the under tray where you fill with water so it doesn't grease. Get a brush to clean the mesh. Not the most convenient but manageable.

      I have both the mesh and Teflon non-stick. Meat from the mesh grill tastes better but a pain to clean, hardly touch it since having gotten the non-stick.

        Definitely easier to clean the Teflon plate. Saw many videos showing a simple wipe with a paper tower is all it takes.

        Same consideration for Teflon nonstick vs cast iron/carbon steel/stainless steel cookware. It's a personal choice.

      I believe that the smell you get with domestic plumbed gas (i.e the one in your stovetop) has odourants added in order to facilitate detection of leaks. They are meant to burn off completely, but might leave your food a bit stinky if this doesn't occur…
