  • How to get the price $26.11? I saw it as $52.10.

    • Sorry mate. You need to be a prime member to get the low price + free delivery.

      • +4

probably expired. I see $52 too

      • +2

Also $52.10 for me. Got prime.

      • It's not expired yet, I just got mine, Thanks! I am a Prime member, but I kept getting $52.

I looked around that page and one part near the size section says "May be available at a lower price from other sellers, potentially without free Prime shipping.", so I clicked on it and it shows me a link to the Amazon JP section for $26.11!

Or, you just need to change your Amazon location to Amazon JP to find it.

        Good Luck!!

        • Ahh. Thanks.

    • Make sure you have large selected and not small

I have prime and see large as $26.11 and small as $52.21

  • Good deal thanks

  • can you put this over an induction stove? Appreciate it says for gas stove use

      • +13

I read the description before asking the question, which is why I said "appreciate it says for gas stove use". Just wondering if anyone knows if it can be used over an induction stove.

I would say "May be you need to read my question first before posting a reply to my question." and then neg all your comments, but that would be rude now wouldn't it be?

Aluminum Alloy Steel likely not magnetic

      • Thanks, that helps.

      • Steel is magnetic, aluminum is not… they don't tend to make alloys of the two , so it's either layered (fine as long as there is steel on the bottom) or it's lost in translation

    • +3

according to the reviews in Japanese (by searching IH), it seems that this can be used over an induction stove

    • +2

Regardless of whether it's.magnetic or not I don't think the design would work well on any electric stove.. it would rely on heat transfer form the bottom bit to the top.. and because the bottom has water in it… limiting its temperature to around 200 deg C, the best his would do is act like a steamer.
Requires the heat of a gas flame to "grill" the food on the top plate

    • +3

Definitely not. I've got this and induction stoves. No can do.

Any gas stove will do, but there are four grooves at the bottom to prevent wobbling. It'll work with any stove that has four grates/pot stand.

I am very tempted to buy this, but I know I cannot afford the meat for it to grill…

Everytime I pass by butcher store, I am reminded why I should not invest in a grill plate🥲

Anyone has any tips to share about how you source wagyu, or wagyu replacement?

    • +4

Pork belly and chicken are fantastic too. Not everyone would eat beef or wagyu.

    • +1

      Pig skins then.

    • +1

It doesn’t have to be wagyu really. Angus will be good enough.

    • +1

      Thank you all !

    • Doesn't have to be wagyu - lots of other choices.

If you have freezer space, you can bulk buy meat. I sometimes buy from a restaurant supplier who moonlights on facebook that sells stuff pretty cheap - but you gotta buy a whole box (20kg) of one cut of meat to get a good price.

    • Costco has well priced thinly sliced beef.

  • Any gas stove recommended to go with this?

    • Any portable gas stove will do.

      • How about kitchen stove ?

        • +1

          Will do.

      • Depends how you like your grill. I use no frills camping stove from local big blue store and it took forever to heat things up.
A friend brought their Iwatani portable stove , it heats up much faster. I found the no frills one are less efficient for the same purpose.

        • There is a huge difference between the iwatanis and generic.
For example, the one i own outputs more btu's from a can than my old ikea cooktops biggest hob.

No you have to choose amazon Japan as seller. It defaults to other seller for some reason.

    • +1

You must change seller to Amazon Japan to get AUD$26.11

  • I changed seller to Amazon JP and it shows 52.21

  • Clicked on this thinking it was a wireless charger

FYI - You need to click “other” and then pick $26.11 seller (amazon JP) .

    Uncle Roger: HAIYAAA

Also, any deals on a good quality Iwatani gas burner stove ?

I’m going to japan later this year, but I think it’s easier to get one shipped , rather than bring back via luggage
