    Not the latest GAN model

    • Yeah, the Gan Prime is only discounted 25% off at $75, Hoping for Prime days if the price can drop lower to $60. Fingers crossed.

    • Are these good enough to be used as a power supply? I.e., plugged in 24/7 to power a laptop?

      • Yep! As long as its not a gaming laptop

    • What does the latest gan model brings?

      • Better efficiency (less heat)

Just bought this 65w gan charger a few days ago at half the price. Had 10% off coupon too at the time.

Boaraino 65W USB C Wall Charger, 3 Port GaN PD USB C/QC 3.0 Fast Charger, Portable Travel Power Adapter Compatible with iPhone 14/13/12/11, MacBook Pro/Air, iPad Pro/Air, Galaxy S22 https://amzn.asia/d/1Ts2aM2

Those are generic $6 on alibaba oem charger rebrands, quality is obviously going to be different, we don’t have enough volume to get the good stuff for cheap (65w high quality xiaomi/lenovo/zmi gan chargers with us/cn plugs are only like $20 but no au plug versions)

      • -2

No way you can get this 65w gan charger for $6 on Ali. This one is actually pretty good quality. Up there with the zyron and other quality brands that I have. Cheapest I have found for this one is $18.89 USD on Ali. Works out the same price as buying from Amazon. I paid less with the coupon

        • +2

How have you judged it to be good quality?

          • -1

@ihfree: No over heating. No weird vibrations running through the phone. Charges as fast as the genuine chargers. I have the genuine Samsung high speed charger and Apple chargers. Also using a few zyron 140w gan 3 chargers at the moment. Have used Anker and Baseus chargers before. Have had over heating heymix and other low quality chargers from Amazon and Ali. Been buying original and after market chargers since the Ericcson T28. So I think I have enough experience to know a good charger from a crap one

            • @Sammyboy: A lot of us have been using lots of different chargers since the Ericsson days. That certainly doesn't make us experts in identifying well designed and well produced chargers unless you also happen to be an electronics engineer.

Having a look at the internals would be a bare minimum, and even that's probably not enough without an understanding of design theory.

It's like saying "I have enough experience to tell a good car from a bad car because I've been driving cars since the Commodore." I'd prefer to take advice from a mechanic.

    Prime exclusive?

  • -4

i think these are much better value and from a recognised brand https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/800469

    • +7

Anker is a far more recognised brand than 'Zyron'

      • +2

You won't get false accusations by Anker either. Zyron rep has a history of hissy fits.

    • +1

Are you sure Zyron is better quality than Anker?

      • +1

        Who said better quality?

        • +1

          Thanks for the confirmation.

  • Does this support power delivery? I don’t see it mentioned anywhere on the product page unless I’m missing something.

    • Yeah it does

  • There’s this cheaper and smaller (less ports etc) anker one on sale too https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BNL4F4WZ/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0…

    • +1

      That one is only 33watts.

      • Yep

  • Here’s an unboxing video of this charger : https://youtu.be/lgFTocRpQoI?si=Yp3qtLcyS-G00FQS

I’ve been using it and it’s a pretty fast and reliable charger!

    • FYI: That's the Anker GaN "Prime" model, not this one.

      • What’s the difference between these two?

      • Is it worth the extra $20 or so?

    • Unboxing of a charger without any spoken description or personal comment is just boring.

  • What's the difference between this and this? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/804095

    • Quality & Reliability.

  • Will this work with iPhone 15pro max? This model isn’t listed where it talks about compatibility.

  • +1

I’ve had this for about a year, works great with our androids and iphones (incl 15 Pro Max). Enough to charge an XPS15 or MBP14 but if you’re charging a phone (20w) it will still slow charge the mac (at 45w) but is too low charge the XPS

Weird thing is using the USBC + USBA ports together, you can only get 12w from USBC2. USBC1 can get up to the full 45w. On its own you can get 65w from either USBC port.
The newer version of this charger doesn’t have this limitation
