it's a hat, the quality is fairly consistent no matter where you buy it from. certainly not worth the premium you pay for it. clothing is a different story.

i think brand new off the shelf the $4.50 basic t's are pretty good. Few months of washing/drying later yeah they dont hold up as well as say a Wayver ones.

brands are expensive because they are brands. people paying for limited-use rights to the brand logo to boast that they have money to afford paying the limited-use rights to the brand. I think that setup would be hot to wear. I just have a large brimmed straw style hat. If I want to go the full French Foreign Legion look then a straw hat will give better air flow underneath.
