Phone Was Just Stolen, Decided I Will Try out Samsungs Instead of iPhones. Need Your Opinions Please

I'm looking at some Samsung phones, was curious about the A54, S22 and S23/23+ and would like some opinions. I heard about prime day and that it would be best to wait for the deals listed there for price matches. Need your opinions if I should make the switch or just get another iPhone.

Thank you.

Meh it is a phone - who cares.

  • Troll post.

  • The Pixel 8 Pro from HN is a no brainer. Excellent photos and it will have decent battery life, especially for the price. And if you don't like it you could probably flog it for what you paid on marketplace anyway.

  • I know a lot of people that has moved away from the Iphone and now use Android. I'm an Android user my self. Get an Android, make sure you get a good quality one Like a Samsung S23 or S22. But if you have a tight budget get a Motorola

As someone who just got their first Samsung (an A34) I can share some thoughts.
For the price having ip67 (my moto drowned on holidays), a very good screen with excellent clarity even in sunlight, sd card and great battery life, and 5 years of updates - no complaints on that.
I did almost smash it initially as was using Samsung keyboard which is dumb and slow as anything. Swapped to gboard and all better!
The camera is fine but was terrible shooting videos at a concert the other night.
For the $445 I paid though the value is impressive.
Note: I considered the a54 first but there is really no difference and I thought the green phone looked fun and was cheap.
Edit - I considered a pixel but the battery life on all of them is poor (including the new one from what I read) and I didn't want to deal with that.

I am with Galaxy S21. Have to say the battery is shit. Will not buy Samsung anymore.

That's because of the Exynos system-on-a-chip. its a problem even with Pixel 6 / 7 because their Tensor G SOC's were made by Samsung foundries and are based on Exynos designs.

Snapdragon-based (manufactured by TSMC) Samsung's score higher on battery endurance than their Exynos counterparts.

Apple from the start, then a few years ago decided to give the pixel 6 pro a go and look it was actually a good phone that had things to like over apple but in the end I found that apples ecosystem was still far superior in the way everything integrated so seamlessly and iOS was still well ahead in terms of intuitiveness and overall ease of use. Went back to apple with the iPhone 14 pro and have been glad to be back. My 2 cents, wouldn’t consider myself a fanboy of any brand and just my humble opinion.

How do you know your phone was stolen?

  • I think you should try a Pixel. A few options depending on your budget and the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have 7 years of support. This includes feature drops that will improve your phone over time.

I haven't owned a Samsung, but when I have used my friends, it just seems to have a bit of bloat and tackiness to the OS.

Always had iPhone 3gs, 4s, 5s, then decided to try samsung s7, LG v10, LG v30, before finally switched back to iPhone XR and then iPhone 13 pro. so yeah obviously i’m not a fanboy.

One thing i noticed is that I’m not on my phone as much if it’s not iPhone. iPhone is just so much desirable because ease of use and so intuitive. It’s almost like an extension to my body. Whilst android has been more like a tool.

If you want to get over phone addiction, maybe a good idea. Just saying from my experience.

    Get pixel 8 pro

  • Samsungs - wait for sales of 30-40% off. They come and go every year. Samsungs are not bought at RRP.

I went to pixel from Samsung due to their horrible bloatware they had installed on them. I've heard it's gotten better though. Not sure if they're still pushing their own voice assistant bixby though?

    • Bixby is still available if you want, but it's not crammed down your throat like it used to be.

Bought the S23 - it is fantastic. Also came from apple. Way more customisation on androids. Work phone is a pixel but i find galaxy more intuitive / less buggy.

  • Pixel 8 pro would be a good bet, they have finetuned it so much that its tempting to use it.

  • Samsung S23+ FTW!

  • Skip Samsung as well and go pixel
