  • I have been waiting for WH1000XM5 or Sennheiser Momentum 4 for sale. Does anyone have any idea when they will be on special? I will buy one of them if a deal comes. Thanks.

    • Does anyone have any idea when it will be on special?

Let me check my crystal ball…

    • Yeah they're 10% off right now

      • 10% off isn't enough for real ozbargainer.

    • $489 delivered at My deal, plus $10 off your first order

    • I'm not, they don't fold flat like the 3's / 4's. Dumbest removal of a feature ever.

    • I got my XM5s for ~$400 during last year's Black Friday. Could wait until Black Friday this year

For those of you wanting to upgrade from a XM3 to a 4 or 5 just call sony, tell them your current headphones are faulty. I called and said the earpads are pretty much dying, and what my options are since they dont sell replacement pads anymore. The guy said I can do some of those trade in options. Take my XM3 to one of those recycle places and they'll send me an XM5 for $325. Pretty awesome discount from $550 or whatever it is. I asked him how will they know when I've sent the old ones in so as to send me the new ones? He said they'll send it the moment I pay and that if I want I can just keep the old ones since they dont have any form of tracking. So I have my XM3 and XM5s now. Super!

Very cool, do you remember which number and department you called for this?

      Thanks!

I just called their support number on 1300 13 7669 and asked to speak to someone about parts or repairs to headphones. After all the info about the earpads, which they said I'd have to send in, I asked if they had some sort of upgrade special for new headphones for people who have older ones, like mine which was not supported anymore. The guy did say 3 and 4 can upgrade to 5 on this.

        • Awesome, I'm going to try this. Mine has started making an ear-piercing whine when the cups get too close together, I've had them for like 4 years now.

Can confirm I called and asked for exactly what you got and they immediately gave me the same offer.

          Thanks so much!

        • I tried calling and said what you said. They just sent some links for firmware updates and a link to the spare parts shop close to me for the earpads.

He did say, if the linked solutions did not work, then give them a call again to discuss the upgrade.

I reckon they have been OzBargained!

          • @sh4hp: I just said I had already updated the firmware

            • @sbcbakedbeans: Yeah, that's my next step. I'll go home and do all the steps he specified. It's $28/piece for the earpads, expensive!

              • @sh4hp: Just remember that if the earpads arent official first party, then the sound cancellation and sound detail will regress. Since they had no official XM3 pads left, I pointed that out.

Nice! So did you originally buy them from Sony? Were they still under some kind of warranty?

    • +1

Just in case you mean me, no I bought it from some random store 5 years ago so its completely out of warranty.

Just did this. Mentioned that ear pads faulty and can't purchase from sony anymore for the XM3. I mentioned I like to upgrade and discuss trade in.

Few moments later I was transferred to another department. They offered the below (pick 1) without anything else being asked

    XM4 - $275
    XM5 - $330

I didn't even mention trade in again nor the person mentioned about process of trading in.

Next you need you create and account or mention your sony account. They will add to cart manually and adjust price.

    • Damm, those are phenenomal prices. No need to give them the product serial number or provide proof of purchase?

      • +1

Not at all. Maybe depends on the person you talk with too. I got someone chill

    • Thank you so much for this. I just did the same. Excellent service, and I was even able to combine with a further 10% off welcome code bringing the XM5s to just under 300!!!

  • I tried and spoke to two different persons, but no one offered me that price. They need proof of purchase and serial number.
