  • Need hot water one. What do you guys recommend?

    • Not at this price, bunnings electric one is about $400

    • Don't worry, in summer it'll be scalding hot if you dont run a tap for like a minute prior to using it.

This is to wash your butt not a car. It uses preheated water from the tank that’s in the unit itself not from pipes.

        • +2

Yes. And on a 40 degree day the water in your pipes is gonna be like 60 degrees until you let it run for a bit.

  • how to install if the connection is on the left side?

    • Buy the left hand side one

    • The hose is long enough - I have one that is connected on left side.

      • nah… wont gonna work that way for my toilet

  • +4

On a serious note though, if you buy one I'd recommend you spend $10-15 and fit a back flow preventer valve so contaminated water can't go back into the clean water in your pipes.

    • I believe its required by law if the unit does not have one.

      • +1

It is, but a lot of simple bidets like this one do not include one, nor do they have a warning of such. If a licensed plumber fits it, they will advise. But if you watch the video it's showing how simple and easy it is to DIYand makes no mention of back flow prevention. So better to just let people know of the risk/ simple solution.

      • It's also required by law to have the backflow preventer of a certain rating, registered with your council, and inspected yearly. I think it's a $70-$90 fee just for registration with your council, on top of having a plumber inspect and test the backflow preventer every year.

    • Can u share a link plz

    Say goodbye to toilet paper

How do you dry yourself without toilet paper?

    • +1

      Just fart

    • +2

      Shake it off

    • +1

With a hairdryer for total hands free option or if you are environmentally conscious, consider using the left/right hands.

  • Any idea how you’d install one of these if your mini tap is inside the cistern itself? Or it can’t be?

    Brrrrr… Cold bum alright. 😬

Thanks OP. Ordered one to put on the toilet in place of the electric Xiaomi Whale Spout unit I bought during Covid, but never got around to installing due to lack of a GPO. Hopefully this will convince the bride that there's enough merit to justify calling out a sparky to cut through the tile for power and finally get some warm water and air on our bums - at least until we can schedule in a proper trip to Japan to check out their, er, sights…

Has anyone found a suitable back flow preventer online? Other threads mention Ali Express having a decent one for $6, but I couldn't find any.
