    Outdated socket in December?

    • 14th gen Intel? I believe they'll still be using LGA 1700.

    • will still be good for the 14th gen… BIos 2803 6/10/2023 Update Microcode for next-gen Intel Processor..

Intel.. will unusually support 3 generations of CPU on socket 1700, 12th, 13th and 14th gen…

That's because it's still the same damn arch and node lol. "10nm ESF+++ super mega" or whatever crazy version of 10nm they're up to now lol.

        • +2

i mean, does that even matter at this point?

whatever nm node every manufacturer calls can not be directly compared to each other as they measures it differently. intel 10nm have higher density than tsmc 7nm, these improved 10nm are probably close to tsmc 6nm if anything else

@Brrrrt: Now tell the class about tdp.

Main drawback is cooler compatibility issue

    • yep tight space around the socket…
will have to be careful with HSF choice..

    • Hmm I was considering this kobo but there's so many coolers that are incompatible. I'm building a pc though not upgrading, so I guess it would just be a compromise?

      • Do some research first before buying the cooler. Also another issue is the m.2 stack could easily break when installing the ram. Another one to be carefull

        • Yeah and it's mini itx, which wasn't a factor I really wanted

  • people who bought ddr4 ram this year will regret huge if they want fast ram

  • Good deal! Unfortunately, on the market for a ATX board to go with Corsair 4000d. Any recommendations?

    This is super tempting!

Temptation over, looks like I can't fit my NH L12S on it.

  • Thank you, bought one. Not that I needed one so now I just need a great deal on CPU, Ram, PSU and GPU. :)

  • This going to work with a NZXT H1 v2 ? I kinda though any mITX should fit (more about RAM height the board size right ) but now I'm doubting myself.

    • Think it does yeah. I had this one. Some bits were tight though.

    • I kinda though any mITX should fit (more about RAM height the board size right )

any itx board will fit in the chassis because they follow a standard, but you have to think about whether the AIO pump block will on the socket since these are cramped with vrm heatsinks, ssd heatsink, RAM, etc.

    • I don’t think the nzxt aio header can fit in this one

      • I found a youtube video of a build (via reddit) where they used this board and the H1v2 and it did fit they just needed to route the piping around to other side due to the NVME 'stack' on this board… so minor airflow changes I guess but otherwise all good it seems. https://youtu.be/gAkRnTmUq5U?t=478

  • Anyone know if the I-225V still needs to be avoided like the plague

  • Would this be worth it for a mid-high end gaming/3d rendering build? I'm just in the beginning stages of looking for parts. Or will black Friday be better…

    • If you are making a build needing a mITX board for intel - they seem to rarely go on sale on the higher boards (looking on and off last 6 months). but thats also quite a specific need… and who knows with BF coming maybe they will have more options. But i pulled the trigger on this one.
